Day #8 NaBloPoMo

Day 8 and I'm still managing! It was another beautiful Fall day here and I tried to get a picture of the leaves fluttering down from the trees but I.m not that good of a photographer...........it's still pretty though...........my date is off on my camera and I just set it...........oh boy...............
I washed my kitchen windows today inside and out but I don't have to go outside to do it which is nice.  I also put up fresh curtains (actually dinner napkins on a tension rod with cafe hooks)........
I make my own window cleaner which I really like and it's so cheap to make........
I have the recipe right on the bottle so I don't have to go looking for it.
Here it is:
1/4 Cup vinegar
1/4 Cup rubbing alcohol
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 Cups warm water
You do need to shake each time before you spray because the cornstarch settles out but it gets to be a habit and it cleans so great!

I worked on my button eyed cat which I did not work on yesterday...........Witchy Wednesday......I think I might be picking up speed as it seems I get more done each time.  It was hard to get used to 1 thread over one on  40 count fabric but I'm doing okay.  I still do not care for it but I'll finish this piece..............
I started de cluttering the dining room yesterday and today I got about halfway done!  Just my 15 minute de -clutter!  I do make sure I put everything away that I might have gotten out while moving things around so I may go a bit longer than 15 and if I'm on a roll I just keep going!
The table is clear!  It hasn't been clear for quite some time...............
I still have to attack the top of this desk...............and the bulletin board really doesn't belong in there........I just hung it there temporarily about a year ago! LOL!
This is a hutch that was my Mother's.....if you see stuff that is fancy it was my parents....if you see more junky rustic stuff....that's mine! LOL!  I am not a fancy person at all.............. There are 3 or 4 sets of dishes in here with  accompanying glassware etc.  If anyone knows a good place where I can get some money for this stuff please let me know as I have no use for it but I know it is good stuff and probably very expensive china etc.  I was thinking maybe that replacement china place?  Later....after Christmas probably.........

That's all for today folks....I am tuckered out!  I get up about 3:30 so I call it a day about 4:00 for supper and putting my feet  up.  Of course the girls get fed first and then their meds.....I'm last don't ya know! LOL!  Have a pleasant evening.
Happy Trails!!!

    1. I love MY old furniture but my parent's not so much. There's wasn't old and it was French Provincial...too fussy for me! Although I could handle it if I had the time to recover maybe in a plaid? Anyway, I don't have time right now so there you go! LOL!

  2. Can you get so much done every day. I’m impressed with the clear table and the pretty windows. Thank you for the window cleaning recipes. I’m going to try it when I run out of what I have. I’m impressed at how early you get up too. Not me. Since I retired a few years ago, I get up later and later every day. Dennis is gone to work by about 5:30 but I don’t get up until around seven. :-).
    Blessings, Betsy

    1. I push myself....otherwise I wouldn't. I have goals that I want to accomplish...like moving back up North so that is my motivator. I go to bed lots earlier too! LOL! Some of us are morning people and some of us aren't. Guess which one I am! LOL!

  3. Just as I was reading "I do make sure I put everything away..." my DH called from the bedroom, "You do remember you have stuff all over the bed!?!" lol I was gathering together clothes this afternoon for donating and I got sidetracked. Guess I need to take a queue from you and be sure to finish a job, or at least put it away when it's obvious I'm done with it for the day. Truthfully, though... I think part of my problem is that I always think I'll come back to it. sigh

    1. Not every little thing gets put away and you should see my crafts room right now...you can barely walk in there! But at least it gets put in the appropriate room. I am finding my craft room may not be big enough...lol! I have to get things 'finished up' because I 'hit a wall' in the afternoon around 4 or 5 and if I don't have supper made and things done....it's too late...I crash. I used to hate it years ago when I would strip the sheets (with 4 little ones running around) and get ready to go to bed only to realize I still had to make it....I almost cried I was so tired. Now, I strip it and make it at the same time so that never happens...lesson learned....at least one lesson anyway. Getting distracted gets easier and easier as you age too so watch out! LOL!

  4. Good job as always. Your decluttering is coming along nicely. My moms china went to one of my sons. Durely there is a family member somewhere who would be thrilled to have it.

    1. Nope....no one wants it. We're not a fancy group who entertains like my parent's generation. If we do it is informal whereas my folks were formal. I think the kids remember how fussy they were about touching their things and it was no fun going to their house for them or for me having to be so careful that the kids didn't break or touch something with dirty hands. I think my mother ran around with a washcloth the whole time we were there. I make sure I don't treat my children or grandchildren that way. I try to treat everyone as if they were the most special guest I ever had and nothing they could break is as valuable to me as they are.

    1. Thank you! You are my blogging role model! What's nice about the homemade cleaning stuff is most of them use some combo of the same products you usually have around the house and no longer do I look in the cupboard and think.."Oh, I have to run to the store because I am out of Windex or laundry detergent etc. Although, after living in the country you get used to ensuring you have 'backups' of everything too. I must admit, I've stopped making my own laundry detergent. My towels were starting to look 'gray' so I went back to the old standby of Tide and they brightened right up! I like to be self-sufficient and 'green' but if it doesn't work...it doesn't work.
