Another gorgeous day!

The Bradford Pear trees are getting ready to bloom!  It's supposed to go down to 31 F tonight so I hope that doesn't ruin their blooms.
The pink clemaitis is really growing.....
the Jackmani clemaitis is just getting started..........

I got back to cleaning the craft room.............."divide and conquer"............

Slowly but surely I am "touching" each and every item in this room....this is definitely going to take more than 1 week!
I baked off my bread this morning and took my walk.  I got my chores done and after I publish this I hope to work on the ironing board cover for FNSWF's  (Friday Night Sewing with Friends)

What are you up to this Friday?
Here are your "tidbits" for today..................

 Here's the recipe.........

It may not be "officially" Spring but I'm calling it!

Another beautiful day.  All the rain is south of us.  I hung a load of clothes out on the clothesline that Jim made me.
I went for my walk and the woods are definitely "greening up".  I planted some red lettuce seeds..........

I also went and got my first of the 2 Shindrix shots.  Thanks for telling me about it Connie but you didn't mention the price.  Whew!  That was sticker shock but I 'm glad I was able to get it and I don't have to get the 2nd one until I save up more money! LOL!  It hasn't bothered me at all so far but I've never been bothered by a shot.
I finally got the 2 3/4 inches knitted and now they want me to put in button holes but no directions.....just do it!  Huh?  I have never done button holes before so I guess I will be praying there are tutorials out there on You Tube!
I made the spinach, beet and feta salad for tonight along with honey toasted walnuts.  I'm really looking forward to it with the homemade dressing too!  It's all prepped and ready to throw together.  If it turns out good I'll share the recipe with you.
I finished another good mystery.  Deadly Medicine is the 1st book in the Sweet Briar Farm mystery series by Joanna Neil...........
"When Sarah Marshall inherits a run-down farm from her grandmother, she faces a dilemma – sell it, or try to turn it into a profitable business… while at the same time trying to go on with her day job as a paralegal. As if that isn’t enough to contend with, she’s suddenly faced with the untimely death of her friend, estate agent, Jenny Carter. The police want to write it off as accidental, but Sarah is convinced that’s not the case. So, while she’s looking after Jenny’s pregnant dog, chasing down Rhode Island Reds and arranging for the sheep to be sheared, she also does her very best to track down Jenny’s killer."

Baby steps...............

I had a slow start this morning wanting to see how Super Tuesday went and then there was the live stream of Fat Quarter Shop's Prim Village SAL which took too much time.  I could have watched the recorded version tonight instead of wasting my precious morning time....oh well...live and learn.......
By the time I got my morning chores done it was past noon!  I took my walk and came back and brushed off the old compost bin............I made some contributions to it...............
More daffodils are up and they are "dye" material so I have to look to see when I should "harvest" them.  These are the backyard daffodils as opposed to the ones I photographed before which were the front yard daffodils....
I did a little knitting on the kimono but it looks the same as yesterday....I need 2 3/4 " before the next instruction..............
I did get a good start on Prim Village and must have the border done before next week...maybe a few deadlines here and there would be good for me?
I also found my seeds!  Watch out Spring...here I come!
After this post I will be potting some seeds and puttering in my craft room!  But first, here are your "tidbits" for today...................this is the REAL DEAL from Ireland!  Here's the recipe
Here's the instructions

Back in the saddle again...........

Treasures arrived!  Yesterday I was exhausted and I did some chores and took my walk and went and "early voted" but that was about it.  I'm trying to plan my garden and how to arrange to work on all the other projects around here.  I know it's healthy to have a lot of interests but there are only so many hours in the day and only so much energy that I can muster up! LOL!  But I am slowly "getting it together" and the weather is dreamy with sunshine and high 60's low 70's F and birds singing their little hearts out.
So, tomorrow starts the Prim Village SAL at Fat Quarter Shop which I am participating in.  I just got the pattern today and the floss needed the other day.

It comes with this sweet little charm too........
I had material for it already in my stash and I cut it to size and zigzagged the edges.  Now, where did I put my floss bags?
Yesterday, returning from my walk, Sue, the former book fairy and now the cross stitch fairy, pulled into my driveway.  She had a whole bag of cross stitch items and a book on botanical dyeing!
Who can't use cross-stitch fabric?   Thank you, Sue!
I've taken my walk and now I'm off to work on the craft's room and hopefully find those floss bags!  I also need to do some planting!  But before I go, here are your "tidbits"
I was just talking about "dump cakes" the other day and lo and behold...........here's the recipe
I'm not a beginner but I feel like one here in the south!  I am determined somehow some way to grow my own produce and can this year.  I had best get a move on too!  Do you garden?  Here's the link
 Hmm...this looks familiar............
Happy Trails!!!

Yop Week #35

I don' t have much to show for this week.  I had a grief relapse?  Something happened that brought it all back as if it just happened and I have been trying to cope with it all week and not doing very well.  But don't worry...I'm functioning, making my bed, doing chores and taking my walk each day.  The last 2 days a little messenger robin has landed in front of me while I walked and hopped along for a ways with me.  Those signs are a comfort for sure.
I did some mindless handwork as that was all I could handle.............a couple crocheted scrubbies that still need their ends woven in...............
and I uncovered this baby kimono I started and worked on it for a while
..............wonderfully mindless garter stitch...........

I'm wearing my "headlamp" all the time and love it!  I can't wait to see my next electric bill!  The headlamp adjusts up and down for several positions for wherever you want the light to go. Love it!
Last night I started a little puzzle I've had for a while.............it fit well on a cookie sheet as I was doing it in bed.................
here's the end result..............it states "Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its troubles, it empties today of its strength"..........I gave my son Jim a plaque just like this at one time so when I saw the puzzle I had to get it.  I have puzzle glue and puzzle boards to mount it on but they are small rectangles not round so I will have to improvise.
Yesterday I went to Wally World as the Spring rains are coming this week!  While I was there I picked up these beautiful primroses just like my UK friends have!   So pretty!  Now, if I can just keep them alive!
I have nothing against a little retail therapy if it will make a girl feel better so I have some treasures coming this week in the mail......things to look forward to..............
I ordered from Thrift Books a Beginning Baby Knitting book by Debbie Bliss.  I love baby things and may sell them.  I also got another Hanna Swenson mystery book, a cross stitch pattern for an upcoming SAL and some floss.  I ordered my St. Patrick's Day present too!  So stay tuned for lots of inspiration coming this next week!
Now I am off to take a nap as all this emotional stuff is so exhausting!  Physical work isn't nearly as tiring!
Happy Trails!!!
