Guess who's 5 years old???

Miss Peeps!!!  Happy Birthday, Miss Peeps!
I mowed the lawn today...............it was a beautiful day with a nice breeze and no humidity.....yet!
My coreopsis is blooming..........I need to sweep the grass clippings off the bench! LOL!
I have a pair of thrushes (?) with a nest nearby that are always outside my kitchen window and if they hear me they fly to the clothes pole.........
I think this is Mr. and Mrs................
For my last gingham bag which is blue, I chose this design out of my Cath Kidson Stitch book...the middle flower,  although I am changing the outside color from white to navy................
little done so far...............
If anyone is interested, I got these 3 bags (they come in a set) from The Fat Quarter Shop.
Stay safe and enjoy your Friday night!
Happy Trails!!!

Stitch Maynia Day #28....only 3 more to go!!!

Yes, I am glad Stitch Maynia is wrapping up.  It rained last night but stopped this morning so I got my walk in......there is still much flowering going on in the woods and along the road where I walk.

I did some cleaning today.  They kept predicting rain so I thought I best let the lawn dry out a bit before mowing either tomorrow or Saturday.  This is my day #28 Stitch Maynia project on another of my gingham bags.............
It doesn't show up too well but there will be some other colors so hopefully that will help.
When I was a little girl I remember a painting or a mural at my church that had a very positive affect on me growing up.  It always made me feel loved by Jesus and it has stuck with me my whole life.  Part of the reason I never feel alone.  I found the painting the other day by accident on the internet!  I was so happy after all these years!  Actually, it is very famous and was painted by Otto Stemler who died in 1953 when I was 4 years old. I was able to print it out and I framed it.............what a treasure.
Do any of you remember this picture from when you were little?  I need to send it to the grands just in case it has the same affect on them as it did on me after all these years!
The leaf-strewn forest is all green now with plenty of foliage everywhere............
I hope you were able to get out and about to enjoy nature and some fresh air while staying safe.
Happy Trails!!!

Storms then sun..........

I got some treasures in the mail today!  Actually, supplies to aid my habit of crafting.  This was all for Stitch Maynia and/or my cross stitch addiction.  Some project bags since I mostly use Ziplocks! LOL!  These I got on 123 Stitch and they were reasonably priced.
More floss bags.........
I am planning on cross stitching on the 3 gingham mesh bags I got from Fat Quarter Shop.  I am going to cross-stitch one of these windows............. it is from my Cath Kidson Stitching book.......
just a start on the window frame.......
I didn't take a walk today because it stormed all morning and by the time the sun came out, it was hot and humid so I passed!  When it starts getting hot and humid I go for my walk early in the morning.
I made the Veggie Cassola dish that I love so much!  Supper will be the last of the fish sticks, sweet potato, and the roasted vegetable dish.
That's all for today!  I hope you are all staying well, safe, and happy!
Happy Trails!!!

All my progress yesterday and today.....nada!

I am so tired out today I just got the minimal done.  I have been dragging all day.  I am hitting the sack early tonight.  I did finish a book; the first one in the Dr. Nightingale mystery series about a veterinarian.  I'll be ordering more as it was really good!
I started this mystery; the 3rd book in the China Bayles series by Susan Wittig Albert...........China owns an herbal shop..........
I received a belated Mother's Day package in the mail, from my daughter, full of goodies!  I hope I remember them all!
Some favorite cookies of mine..............
a new hummingbird feeder!
Some Lysol wipes which I transferred to this container.  I have not been able to get any so I really appreciated these!
These are really neat.............silicone pie edgers so your edges don't burn!  So much easier than the old foil edging and no waste of foil......
This is not for me but for the girls....Grace and Miss Peeps.  It has a USB cable so I can charge it on the pc.  It's tail goes back and forth and Miss Peeps loves it!  Grace, not so much.  It's hysterical!
As for Stitch Maynia Day #26 I started this little house ornament from my friend, Helen Philipps, Cross Stitch Keepsakes book.........
I didn't get very far........the door is pink using the color she recommended but the picture looks red so I think I will tear it out and use a  nice bright red......
I did some cleaning....not too much....I didn't want to overdo it! LOL!  I also picked up my prescriptions at the pharmacy and that was about it.  Again, it was supposed to rain but nada!
Take care, stay safe, and.........
Happy Trails!!!

Memorial Day!!!

and..............
It was supposed to storm yesterday and today but per usual...the sky is blue and the sun is shining!  I don't mind as I am back to making sun plans and rain plans so either way I am good to go!  Because it was going to be in the  80's I got out early and took my walk.  I then sprayed poison ivy, took down some poisonous vines climbing up the brick on my house, and transplanted my cherry tomato plants.   I purposely use my tomato cages upside down when I plant in containers....it's easier.   These are the tomatoes I grew from seed.  The cherry tomatoes are the biggest plants so far, go figure?
I think I need to move them.........
I also planted some basil and some bush beans......
My hose broke so I am back to watering the old fashioned way but I am going to need a couple more hoses for this summer.
The clematis is doing great since I transplanted them last year..........
I burned an entire box full of paper.  I had way too much to shred...........
I also got some solar lights that I put on my front porch railing...........they work really well and weren't that expensive...........I'll have to take a picture at night and show you.........
This is my Stitch Maynia Day #25 pattern.....a free pattern from Glory Bee.....she has some nice ones.
I've been outside most of the day and dirty so I didn't do much so far...........
I tried starting the Habitation Shawl and I have already run into trouble....it's an I-Cord cast on?  I got the first instructions fine and there is an itty-bitty 3 stitch i-cord but then I do not understand her next directions so I will be watching some YouTube videos before I go any further......live and learn...hopefully!
That's all for today folks.  I'm going to finish the last "load" of burning and then come in and close the windows, turn on the AC, change my sheets, and take a bath!
Happy Trails!!!

YOP Week #47

My weeks get crazier and crazier! LOL!  Saturdays and Sundays are usually my days to craft or sew or knit or just catch up with my craft projects but not this week.  Because of all the rain I had to get groceries yesterday and disinfect and put them all away......it took all day!  I'm not complaining though because I am grateful to Walmart for doing my shopping for me and keeping me safe.  Also, the fact that I have plenty to eat and look at all this beautiful fresh produce!

I was able to put a few flags out for Memorial Day...thank you to so many who have sacrificed and their families too.............
My lilac tree and rambling roses are blooming like crazy with all the rain and then sunshine....it's time to mow again too!
Here's one of our neighborhood vultures!  I think they are the state bird of Arkansas but they do a fine job of cleaning up our streets!  You won't find any roadkill around here!  But it does sort of give me the creeps when they keep hanging around in front of my house.  Do they know something I don't know?
As for Stitch Maynia it is going fine but I will be glad when it's over so I can go back and work on those first projects! LOL!  Yesterday I worked on this project for Day #23 and it is for my daughter as she is always saying this to her kids!  LOL!

this is how far I got on the witch's hat..........
Today, I started  Zippity Do Da
This afternoon I am starting my Habitation Shawl by Helen Stewart........it's all kitted up..........
In addition, I need to kit up materials for the grandboys for their July birthdays.........this will probably be one of their gifts............or maybe a regular tie plus their mom wants aprons as they work in the kitchen quite a bit and they really liked their pillowcases so maybe more of those.
I washed and hung out a load of clothes as more storms are coming so basically my life is organized around the weather like the farmers! LOL!
I hope you are enjoying your weekend. Please give thanks to our veterans, those who gave their lives and limbs for this country, and our active service members and their families.  Blessings to them all and may they always be in our prayers.
Happy Trails!!!
