Good Friday....I've never understood why they call it "good"

Considering what happened on that day in the Christian faith....I would not call it good.  My father died on Good Friday and I came back to this house which was my parents at the time.  My mother had already passed the year before.  I did some laundry and went to hang it on the clothesline outside. It was a beautiful spring day and the sky was blue and the sun was shining.  They had a little cherry tree in the back yard that was blooming.  As I walked past it....it snapped in 2!  I kid you not!  I turned around and it was bent in half......almost completely severed.   I took it as a sign.....I've had lots of them in my life.
Anyway, it was a beautiful day this Good Friday also.  I hung a load of laundry outside, took my walk.  I did a little cross-stitch. Prepped for my tilapia dinner tonight and did a little cleaning.....very little! LOL!
I did find my Easter eggs and some other items I think my daughter gave me years back.......I just tried to download my photos and no go!!!  See, I told it wasn't good friday!
Anyway.....here' s your "tidbits" for today............

This doesn't mean you won't struggle or have hard times or get sick, or suffer and one day die.  But I do believe that you will never be alone in the struggle.  Happy Easter!

I thought these were so pretty and made from scraps!   Here's the instructions

Okay, I am not a donut person but I LOVE crullers!  Here's the recipe

Here's your cutie pie for today..................peek a boo I see you!
and a little humor..................

Groceries ordered and even some TP but no flour

From my Amazing Grace box that held my body butter.............

"Amazing Grace Philosophy..........
with every act of grace, the world gains a touch more love.  grace is compassion, gratitude, surrender, faith, forgiveness, good manners, reverence and the list goes on.  when we extend ourselves to others with grace, we not only lift them up, we inspire them to be graceful. a world full of graceful people is a world full of goodness and love."

How are you doing?  Fine, I hope.  I made my grocery list and menu yesterday and tried to order but there were no time slots for pickup at Walmart.  So, I got up this morning at my early rising 3:00 a.m. and got a time slot for Saturday 3-4 p.m.  I also got my ham so Easter dinner is on!  There were a few items they didn't have but for the most part it was good.

Last night about supper time we had a humdinger of a storm with a tornado watch until midnight and 4 different warnings!  There was nothing all day and only 20% chance of rain but it started getting really dark so I checked the weather and lo and behold....a storm was coming!  It lightening, thundered, hailed and poured down rain!  It was a good one but it didn't last long.  I was worried about my little seedlings but they were okay this morning.  The hail was about nickel-sized.  The weather radio never went off in the night so I slept really well!

Today I cleaned my desktop...........
It was a mess with papers and receipts and patterns.....papers everywhere!    Now it's better....
I also found more of my cross stitch to organize...........patterns
Remember this............I finish them and then don't "fully finish" them....that's going to stop!
Look at all these  that I've finished and done nothing with!  Shame on me!
I got my patterns in one container, another has my FO's,  and another for cloth.  I want to organize my patterns by season and/or holiday.

Oh, my grandson, Grayson, wanted me to share a joke with you...."Why did Sally Ride cross the spaceship?   To get to outer space!"  He's pretty clever that Grayson boy....thank you, Grayson!

What have you been up to?

Here are some "tidbits" for today.................
Here's the link to show you how.............
I've been wanting needing to do this for a while now................

Is summer here?

Ugh...it's 87 F!  Too hot but at least there is little humidity so far.  I do not like heat!  60's is perfect for me! LOL!  This handsome guy greeted me this morning............
I baked my milk bread last night and it is so good and slices like a dream!
My grandson, Grayson, asked for a picture of Miss Peeps because he hadn't seen her for a while and missed her...so here she is Grayson.....

This is mama bird and she built that beautiful nest and this picture was the last time I saw her.....she doesn't look well.....I feel so bad that maybe something happened to her..........do birds die in childbirth?
I did laundry today and hung it outside.  I took my walk early before it got so warm.  I made my menu and grocery list but then couldn't order as all the timeslots for pickup at Walmart were taken..........I'll try in the morning but I may not be having my ham dinner for Easter.  Not a problem....some people don't have money to buy food so I will not complain but then there's the issue of toilet paper.  Did you know toilet paper wasn't around until the 1940's?   They used newspapers and pages from books.....so there you go...in case you run out!  I wouldn't recommend flushing them down the toilet though!  Maybe that's why people took books into the bathroom...not to read but to wipe!  LOL!
I did organize my Stitch Maynia and my cross stitch..................I don't have any pretty project bags just Ziploc but it works for now.
After that, I did cross stitch for a bit on my Prim Village..........

Here are some "tidbits" for today...............
My daughter mentioned she made these and ever since I've had a taste for them............
 Here's the recipe

Here is your cuteness factor for today...........

This blanket says Spring to me and there is one in blue too.....baby blankets?  Here is the link
and for your little bit of humor for that Easter ham, I was talking about..............

Tuesday...another busy day!

I've had a few problems with blogger lately.   I couldn't leave comments on several blogs and I couldn't sign in to my own blog!  Have any of you had any problems?  I'm on here now so I'll take advantage of it!
I did my chores and have been using a new organizational tool that one of my blog friends mentioned.  The bare bones edition is free and it is called Dynalist.  It's nice until the internet goes out and then you're sunk! LOL!  But it is lots faster than writing my lists out longhand.  I took a walk as it is another beautiful day here.  It's 81 F and tomorrow is supposed to be 85!  Whew, that's getting hot but at least there's no humidity yet.
The exterminator came yesterday and they called ahead and I said they couldn't come inside but they could do the outside.  They did but then he opened my storm door and slipped the receipt in there so I had to throw it out and wash my hands and then go around to the front door and disinfect the door handle and the area around it.  Duh!  Do these people not realize that this disease can be spread by contact and that you don't have to show symptoms in order to spread it?  Especially on hard surfaces like a metal door.  I'm sorry but some people's stupidity is almost more than I can tolerate some days.
On the bright side though, I  had to get my meds today and they had my hydroxychloroquine...PTL! I wore a mask even using the drive-through............. I dressed it up a bit so they could see me smile plus at my age a little color on the lips does a girl good don't you think?
I'm not much of an artist but I did my best..............
The pharmacist, Jennifer, who had the baby, is back!  She wrote me a very sweet thank you note and she showed me a picture of her darling daughter on her iPhone.....she has a beautiful smile just like her mama!
I made some bread dough and I'm waiting for it to rise.  I made my milk bread dough this time.  It should be ready at about 3:30.  Meanwhile, I watched Stitching the High Notes daily Vlog and knitted on my Miss Marple.............
About 2 more inches and I can start the decreases............I think...........
BTW, Helen Stewart, the knitting designer, has a beautiful pattern that STHN's is making and I love it so I went to download the pattern and for April she is giving it away for free when it is usually $5!
There is a code you enter so just go to Ravelry and search for The Habitation Throw.  It is gorgeous!
Here are some other "tidbits" for you...............
Appetizer?  Since when are Swedish Meatballs an appetizer?  I always thought it was a meal.  Either way here's the recipe
Here you go......even though you have to stay inside you can still travel to faraway places!
Here's the link
This says it all..............
and for a little picture into what it is like for some during this quarantine................

Mondays go so fast!!!

I am always behind the 8 ball on Mondays as I do take Sunday off and Saturday too but Sunday for sure.  When you are always at home it is easy to just let one day run into the other and there is always something to do.  So, like the pioneers used to do....they would get work and cooking done on Saturday at the latest so they could take Sunday off as a day of rest.  Now, like most of us, there are still things to do and especially if you have livestock but for the most part, I try to not look around the house and see all that still needs to be done! LOL!
I  did a lot of regular chores after a weekend off and then this afternoon I took my walk with my camera.  The other day the dogwoods were beginning to bloom and they are still not at full bloom but I took some pictures as at this time of year every day is something new.
That's the lake in the background...........
These are tiny tiny flowers............. and do you see those little white ones on the right?  Even tinier!
 and these aren't much bigger....
You can see the whiteness of the dogwoods just starting to bloom in the woods....
It's beautiful here in the Springtime...............

Other than the beautiful scenery I received a Knit Picks catalog in the mail!  They are still open but they said it might be slower as they don't have as much staff.

Here are your "tidbits" for today.................

Lots of good repurposing ideas..............

A little cutie pie..............

and a little humor..............

YOP Week #40

It's a slow boat to China but I have a few finishes and progress has been made!  I finished another washcloth............
and my ironing board cover...finally!
There are a few things I would do differently......I might use elastic instead of ribbon as it is difficult to get it tied tight.  I also might get some of those elastic clips that you clip underneath the board to keep it tight similar to the old "idiot mitten'" clips of yesteryear.
But all in all I am happy with it and I really like the fabric!  Now I need to get some ironing done!
I did work quite a bit on my Miss Marple scarf as you can see by my progress keeper....

Isn't it the cutest and just perfect for this time of year!
There are so many colors in this yarn and it changes depending on how the light hits it.........
I have to go take my walk and then it's plan my week, order some supplies and write some letters.  I hope you are all staying well and safe.
Happy Trails!!!
