Stitch Maynia is here!!!!

Okay, I've had a wonderful day so far and I have lots of pictures but I won't keep you in suspense....here is Stitch Maynia Project #1................this is for St. Patrick's Day.....hopefully I will finish it by the time it rolls around again! LOL!
This is how far I got today............I'm also missing a few colors until my orders come in but I had plenty to work with for today............
I took a wonderful walk today before it got too hot...high of 77 today and in the 80's tomorrow but still no humidity so that's good!  I took my camera and these are all the different flowers I saw......

Amazing isn't it and I just walked around the block! LOL!
I made my homemade laundry detergent today..........I slice up a bar of Kirk's Castile soap.......
and then in a large container, I add it, 2 cups of washing soda, 2 cups of Borax and 1 cup of baking soda.  I then add about 10 drops of Tea Tree essential oil.  I have mine in a Lock n' Lock container so I put the lid on and shake it upside down and all around!  It so inexpensive to make and then I don't have to lug those heavy jugs around and it saves more plastic from going to the landfill.  Tea Tree oil is a germ fighter and it smells good too!  For a softner I use white vinegar.  I've got clothes out on the line right now.
I 'm making supper and just got done cooking the chicken.  Now I have to shred it and put the meal together....no "roughing" it tonight!
Stitch Maynia, a beautiful day and a good dinner tonight...what more can a gal ask for?  Wishing you health, safety and happiness!
Happy Trails!!!

Stitch Maynia Eve!!!

Well, I am not totally ready for Stitch Maynia as most of my supplies have not arrived and I thought I had ordered in plenty of time.  But with the pandemic, everything is in slow motion.  I have enough to get started though.
I forgot to defrost my chicken for dinner so I will be 'roughing' it again tonight.  I made the alfredo sauce so it's ready for the broccoli chicken casserole tomorrow.  I did some finances, cleaned up the house, and took my walk as it is a beautiful day.  I cut material for Stitch Maynia projects and zigzagged the edges..........
I did get some floss in the mail today which will help..........
I have my first project all ready to stitch in this cute little bag my daughter gave me........you'll have to wait until tomorrow to see what it is!
I'm excited!!!  I hope everyone is getting some kind of joy out of their day and of course, I pray you are all healthy and safe.
Happy Trails!!!

Let them eat pie!

The storm raged last night and the weather radio woke me up several times but no tornado warnings so I did not go to the basement.  All was well this morning so I was grateful.  I guess I didn't get as much sleep as I thought though.  I did chores this morning, kitted up my first Maynia start and finished making the lemon meringue pie.........
I had a piece of pie and promptly took a nap!  I woke up just now...at 4:00 p.m with no dinner made.  I guess a can of soup will have to do.....and pie!!!
Happy Trails!!!

Storm a comin'!!!

I have to go pick up groceries at Walmart again but thank goodness the storm isn't supposed to arrive until about 7 p.m.!
This storm has or is a Derecho that has high winds, hail, and possible tornadoes.  A real smorgasbord of weather so I am grateful that hopefully, I will be home by then!
I did some bill paying and some chores around the house and then I made a pie crust for my lemon meringue pie I am hoping to make.
Walmart just emailed me!  I'm off!
Happy Trails!!!

Nice Monday.......

I don't know what's up with me but I have been wanting fish lately!  I fixed that Tilapia and then I've had more than my share of tuna salad and then salmon patties!  My body must need something in those fish.  I take Omega 3 so not sure what it could be.
Today I vacuum sealed the meat I bought the other day.  My vacuum sealer is one of the best purchases I've ever made for keeping food fresh and free from freezer burn.
I vacuum sealed chicken breasts, Italian sausage and 2 packages of bratwurst.
I also unwrapped the 2 packages I got from Walmart the other day.  I let them sit for at least 24 hours.
The only problem with delivery is that it seems you have to buy more but there is more to choose from too.  I got 4 packages of the fusilli and 2 packages of flour and yet on the pick-up,
you are limited to only 2 of some things which is fine as it leaves some for others. I'm restocking my pantry now.
I did manage to crochet another lattice square and start another...I think I'm picking up speed!  I'm hoping to get at least 5 done this week.
I got a letter written finally and got the garbages emptied and out for garbage day tomorrow.  I placed another grocery order as I forgot quite a few things last week.  I ordered today and can pick up tomorrow!  Sweet!  I wanted to get my grub killer spread and take a walk but I have been going for almost 12 hours now so I think it's time to call it a day!  I got up at 4:00 this morning.
I hope you are all well and having a good start to your week!
Happy Trails!!!

YOP Week #44

I hope I got the week # correct! LOL!  I always get it messed up near the end of the year.
Becki, I found this image you created and I love it so I thought I would switch it up a bit.  Thank you!  You always create such pretty ones.
I have a finish this week!  Yay!  My Miss Marple scarf which I highly recommend!  This has to be one of the most enjoyable if not the most enjoyable project I have ever knitted!  I will be making more of these....
I tried trying it on and taking a picture in the mirror but that didn't work out too well.  It fits great though and I love it and it is sure to keep my neck warm next winter.   I also loved the yarn which was a worsted yarn in a variegated colorway which I will note in my Ravelry project notes when I do them.  It was from Hobby Lobby and is acrylic but so soft and I loved the way the color changed.  Now, what's next?  It's time to start the July birthday presents so you'll have to wait until next week to find out!

I did 3 more squares of the Victorian blanket...........(my current crochet project) which was a past WIP.......

I also worked a bit on my COVID cross stitch.............

and that was it for this week.  I did spend more time on prepping for Stitch Maynia and I have orders in but it was difficult getting floss as everywhere was running out...at least of the colors I needed.  Plus, with the pandemic, shipping is slow as they don't have full staffs and are trying to do social distancing and staggering of shifts with their employees.  So, Stitch Maynia may get off to a slow start this year.  That's okay, I'm sure I have some that I can start.  It starts this coming Friday on May 1st so be sure and stop by every day in May to see what I'm starting!  If the supplies don't show up I will at least show you a picture of it.
I hope you are all staying safe, well and happy and that you have plenty of toilet paper!  I was able to get 4 rolls on my last Walmart order so the hoarders have stopped hoarding hopefully!
Happy Trails!!!
