Wild night last evening!

I'm glad I made my dinner early because right about dinnertime there was a tornado watch and then a tornado warning.  I go to the basement for a warning!  It lightening and thundered and there was quarter size hail.  I thought the windows were going to break but they didn't and we never even lost power which was amazing.  I had a nice dinner, watched some t.v. and read and I slept like a baby!
Today I washed and hung a load outside but then they showed rain coming so I brought it all in and dried it in the dryer.  They said it was sunny but it was solid green on the radar but the sun never came out and it never rained!  They are so bad!
I ordered stamps online since I didn't want to go to the post office....all those mail handlers! LOL!
The Bradford pear looks like a blizzard.  I'll call it my spring blizzard tree.  On my walk,
I spotted several trees blooming in the woods and some violets or something similar.  I'll take my camera tomorrow and get some pictures.
I paid some bills, made some phone calls and planted some radishes..............

I haven't finished the borders on my Prim Village xs but I had to get another color going.....I was getting bored with the border...........
I'm hoping to get back to the craft room after I post this...........yesterday I cleaned the microwave and most of the frig but there's a little more to do.  I dropped $25 off my electric bill by canceling the t.v. portion and my electric bill was down by $10 so far with hanging my clothes outside and also wearing my "head lamp" but it was only a partial month so maybe it will be even lower next time?
Here are your"tidbits" for today.............
Yes, the dandelions are coming to a yard near you!  Be ready!  Here' s the link
Have any of you made this or any homemade brew?
I must be thirsty today.............not that I'll be wearing a swimsuit and time soon or ever again but it wouldn't hurt to try and drop a few pounds.
These are so cute and comfy looking and would make a nice gift too........Here' s the link
and last but not least..............

Beautiful day again!

I hung out a load of clothes this morning as it wasn't predicted to rain until 4:30 this afternoon.  I went and got tax info and a prescription from the pharmacy and worked on tearing out my misplaced stitches in my Prim Village cross stitch.   I cleaned up the house and took my walk.  This afternoon I made my supper which is asparagus and orzo pasta with onion cooked in vegetable broth.  From the Blue Zone Kitchens recipe book.
My primroses are doing well.  I will be planting them outside soon as they like the cool, wet springtime weather which won't last for long here!  The bokchoy is growing roots so I may try to plant it also.
My lettuce is popping up........
Here are your "tidbits" for today.............isn't this lovely?  There are no instructions unless you buy Australian Homespun magazine no 51 (vol 8 no 8) but just the inspiration with some embroidery and some quilting?  How sweet!  The blogger is here
My people!!!  Here's the link

I may have to save some of my corned beef for this!  I love me a good reuben sandwich and I  have not had one in 14 or 15 years!  I think it's time! LOL! Here's the recipe

and a little Irish humor.................

Rain, sun and the first case of COVID-19 in Arkansas

It rained this morning and then the sun came out and it has been shining ever since!  Weather.com is so sensationalistic when it comes to weather.  They're going to call wolf one too many times!  They were talking about a severe outbreak of storms today with possible hail and tornadoes and the whole state of Arkansas was in dark red!  I'm glad it wasn't true and it is supposed to rain again later tonight but really?  I would have planned to work outside if I'd known.  I'll just have to make rain plans AND sun plans like I did when my children were little.
Some people couldn't see the first 2 pictures on my blog post yesterday........I'll try it again here and let me know....

I was able to get out and cut some daffodils after the sun came out............
I did not get the border done for the Prim Village SAL and the middle part needs to be taken out as it is wrong. I did watch the live stream though because they were showing all the new cross stitch designs from market......I  wrote down several as Stitch Maynia is getting closer!
I spent the afternoon writing some letters that I owed and it takes me so long with little to show for it.  But it feels better and I do enjoy it.
They just announced that Arkansas has its first case of COVID-19.  It is not confirmed by the CDC yet but he/she tested positive.  It is in Pinebluff and that is South of here pretty far from where I am.  I always said that Horseshoe Bend was on the way to nowhere.  That might be a good thing now!  From what I understand it was at the University there in Pinebluff.
I took my walk again and did chores but haven't gotten back to the crafts room or planting seeds.   I was up very early this morning so I am really getting my days
 and nights mixed up!
I filled the water softner with salt and the water bottles with filtered water. Cleaned up the house and ran the dishwasher.   That's about it for today!
Here are your "tidbits".....I'll be by tomorrow to check up on everyone..........

He took the words right out of my mouth!  Peace at any cost is not peace............
Here are some old fashioned recipes....vinegar pie?

Who knew?  here's the link

Another treasure and Wally World

"Spring is popping up all over"!  Another gorgeous day but then rain for the next 4-5 days.........
I made my list and menu and went to Wally World and got supplies and ingredients for St. Patrick's Day dinner.  I got 2 corned beef briskets as it never seems like I have enough to go with all the vegetables.  The vegetables are carrots, turnips, rutabaga, cabbage, and potatoes.  I think it is my favorite meal of all.
I got another treasure from Thrift Books.............I'm a little late to the party as my grandchildren are no longer babies but I love baby things so better late than never and I will hopefully sell them in an Etsy shop if I can get my act together.............

I got some new candles for the Spring...........rain, lilac and lavender.................this one is rain since it is on the way.  I got my walk in also although I was slow after traipsing around Walmart!
Here are your "tidbits" for today.............

So pretty these coasters are......Here are the instructions way down at the bottom
Oh!  These sound good..............

and for a little chuckle........

Treasures came today!!!

The first treasure I received was from my friend, Vicki, who made the crosses.  She sent me a lovely letter and to Vicki, yes, my phone is the same but I do unplug when I go to bed early or take a nap.  I also don't answer if I don't recognize the number....so many scammer calls!  Leave a message and if I'm there I will pick up.  Letters are true treasures!  Thank you, Vicki.
The other treasure was in my backyard this morning........my favorite bird in the whole world.......a bluebird!  I was overjoyed to see it and he posed for me at all different angles.
I had to call in prescriptions and then I went to pick them up and it kept saying it would rain at any moment but I was able to get errands done and even squeezed in my walk before the rain.
I got books today from Thrift Books!  A French book on the Joy of Life..................
and my favorite mystery writer............
I did something today which I have never done that I remember.....I "binge-watched" and still am.........the series "A Place Called Home" on the Acorn channel.  Really excellent family drama I highly recommend.  It takes place in England after WW2.  I have done little else as I was tired and it is raining so what better weather than to curl up under the covers with some handwork, a cup of tea and a great movie series?
Here are your "tidbits" for today............

No directions but I think you can figure it out............
and for a little levity............

YOP Week #36

It was a beautiful week here weatherwise and I tried to take advantage of it but my crafting suffered...oh well.  I joined the Prim Village SAL through the Fat Quarter Shop and I need to have the border done by Wednesday.   I'm doing pretty good.....it will be a lot more interesting when I get to the houses!
I finally got started on the ironing board cover but boy was it difficult to get down on the floor and trace it all out!  But I got it done and that was enough for one day! LOL!  It wasn't just tracing.  You had to measure 4" out from the board all the way around.
I used this wonderful fabric marker and eraser set...............worked slick!
The rest of the week was spent cleaning, cooking, some gardening and planning and clearing out.
My bokchoy base that I stuck in water is flowering!  In 1 week just look at the leaves and flowers!  Amazing!

I also made some Minnesota Peach Cobbler from the Peach Cobbler Murder book by Joanna Fluke.  It is delicious!

I'm already working on the Prim Village border again this morning.  I subscribed to Acorn T.V. yesterday and watched Agatha Raisin whose books I've read.  It's a mystery series and the books are great and so was the first one in the series on Acorn.
I'm off to take my walk and then I've got ham and potato soup to put together and then Acorn T.V. and some handwork.  A perfect Sunday!  I hope you are all well and enjoying your week!
Here are your"tidbits" for today...................
Here' s the instructions
I love this bag but have no instructions.....I'll be searching though! If you find anything out there similar please let me know!

Now for a little levity...............
