Blogmas Day #7

Well, the gifts are rolling in thank goodness!  I'm almost done with the 4th ornament and I brought up some more Christmas from the basement.  I definitely need more lights but I'll save that for next week.  I got my Fat Quarter supplies in so I can move ahead with some projects...........this is the fabric for the Christmas cross stitch project Chicken Joy ....
It's sparkly but you can barely see it...look in the lower left corner.....it's really pretty
I did go ahead and dye a piece of fabric and it's not bad but I think I'll use the sparkly fabric for the Christmas Chicken Joy...it's more festive with the sparkles.
I also got 2 fancy flosses for projects......
Here are your Christmas Tidbits!

These cookies look good..................here's the recipe

Another cute inexpensive paper craft............

here are the directions

I'm off to start wrapping presents!  What are you up to this Saturday?

Blogmas Day #6

Last night I stayed up late to watch the Bears beat the Cowboys 31-24!  I can't believe I was able to stay awake!  But I did and I finished my Witchy Wednesday cross stitch..................easy quick and enjoyable.............
I forgot to show you my Snow Mama with her baby...............I purchased her years ago at a craft fair and I've never regretted it...........she is precious and is made out of an old chenille bedspread and an old quilt................we watched the game together last night.....she is also a Bear's fan..........

Today I got a few gifts in the mail to wrap for Santa to deliver..........but I spoke to soon about the Fat Quarter Shop!  I ordered last Sunday and it is still not here!  I did get the frig cleaned out, the turkey de-boned and the meat cut up and the carcass frozen.  I am on the 4th ornament now so I will keep that first one that has the mistake and give the others to the grands.  The weather  has been great......still!
Here are your Christmas Tidbits for today!
I wish I had the time to make these.....they look so pretty!  They are watercolor snowflake cookies.....her link gives you all the recipes, ingredients, supplies needed and a video here
I would love to make this.....no directions but it wouldn't be hard to figure out...............

I hope you are enjoying the lead up to the holidays and today is Friday!

Blogmas Day #5

Well, there wasn't much that I did today that was photo worthy.....lots of calls to pharmacy, doctor, propane people and the regular chores.  Oh, I did go through more paperwork!  So exciting!  On the other hand, I did sprinkle some more Christmas throughout the house..............
Then what to my wondering eyes should appear but my very first Christmas card this year!!!
This was from Queen Betsy and there was a precious little gift inside too............a little snowflake progress keeper!  Thank you, Betsy!  I will use it when I cast on my Christmas Eve socks!
Now for your Christmas Tidbits for today..............looks like the Elf on the Shelf  has been at it again.......lol!

This looks pretty and I bet it smells good too..................the leaves are fresh bay leaves so not sure where you could get them but maybe you could substitute something else?

This sounds yummy and she includes the labels you can print out and use....yes!  Here's the link
I hope you had a wonderful day!

Blogmas Day #4

Another gorgeous day and I took advantage of it to put up a few outdoor decorations.........
I need more lights evidently but at least there's something done and lots of the Fall decorations have been taken down.
I finally made those English Digestive Biscuits...................

I like them because they are thin and crispy and just sweet enough!  The recipe is on King Arthur's Flour website
Here are your Christmas Tidbits for today..................
this is cute especially if you're having a bunch over Christmas morning.............Cherry Cream Cheese Danish.......yum!

These look very doable if you have some holiday scrapbook paper...........or you could use whatever paper you have on hand...........the directions are here
That's all for today folks!  Enjoy your evening!

Blogmas Day #3

What a great day to be outside!  Sunny and 60's and I finished my Christmas shopping and got a few groceries while I was at it.  Most of the gifts are being delivered but one was a pickup at Walmart and I did.............this is for Uriah and his family doesn't look at my blog..........he loves sharks and legos...........perfect!  I also got him a robe that has a hood and looks like a shark....
I replenished my candle supply............ an evergreen and 2 mulled cider...........
plus I got some material for backing the ornaments which BTW I finished ornament #2 and started on #3............but of course I cannot show you.............
before I forget which I have for several days now......here is my little celery plant.....you just stick the bottom part of your celery from the store and it will regrow!  I do a bunch of them and it is enough to use the leaves for soup and flavoring...........
And here is your Christmas Tidbits for today...............lol!!!

I could probably find most of these in my garage!

I might make these....they look cute and festive........the recipe is here

That's all for today folks!  Tomorrow I will stay home and be outside since it will be another nice day....I will try and come in and do some cleaning but I think I will decorate outside while the weather is nice.
Happy Trails!!!

Blogmas Day #2

Today was busy but there won't be any pictures of it!  I was busy helping Santa Claus get some deals on Cyber Monday!  I got myself some too while I was at it!  I was able to get some major shopping done plus I went to the post office and mailed a package off to Joanie who sent me all those cross stitch patterns and that journal.  So, no pictures but I ordered my Christmas sock yarn and my Christmas book which just so happened to be the next Joanne Fluke mystery which is about Christmas.....book #6 which is what I am ready to read.  I'll wait a bit closer to Christmas before I start it.  So, I have my cross stitch kitted up, my sock yarn is coming, my Christmas book and I have a quilt pattern book I want and other than food goodies I am set for my Christmas.  Well, I still need to decorate and make cookies but that goes without saying.
I did see a super deal on a drone at Penney's for $19.95!  Can you believe it?  They're  usually at least $100!  I thought about it for my grands as they would be ecstatic...they are all very technical.....but the danger....live wires, poking eyes out.....causing an accident running into a car windshield....,,,I could see it all flash in front of me!  Yes, I would be the most awesome Grandma in the world until someone ended up in the ER and then my name would be mud or worse! LOL!  Plus, the parents would hate me the minute they opened their present!  But I thought I would put the word out there in case any grown up boys (wow, that's an oxymoron!) had one on their list.
Meanwhile, all I have for you today are Christmas Tidbits.............
This is a hoot and SO true!
Here's a different kind of recipe......recipes for diffuser blends....If you can't read this, if you click on it it should get bigger....otherwise you can visit this link

Here's a cute craft to crochet...........the instructions can be found  here

That's all for today folks!  Tomorrow and Tuesday will be in the 60's so you can bet I will be out and about when the weather is that nice!  I'll finish up my shopping, get a few groceries and then start wrapping!!!
Happy Trails!!!
P.S. Did you get any deals this weekend or today?  Curious shoppers want to know!

YOP Week #22

We're almost 1/2 way through this Year of Projects!  Whoa Nellie!  Plus, it's Christmas now and since I didn't get started on my Christmas making in July I am way behind!  Plus, my daughter and I do the 12 days of Christmas Advent calendar for each other and I need to hit the stores tomorrow!  Usually I make everything but not this year and we start opening on the 12th so I had best bust a move!
I did get a finish accomplished though!  The first of the 2019 Annual Collectible (tee hee) Christmas Ornaments.............too cute!  I love him but the instructions said to use 4 strands of floss for this 10 count Aida....well....see below his face....that is 4 strands and I didn't care for the look so I used all 6 strands and I like it better but I was not going to rip it out...if I have time I will make 4 which will be one for me and that way I will keep this one and send the other 3 to the grands..  The 10 count fabric is very soft and not stiff like Aida can be.  Plus, it is fast not having to split strands at all and the Floss Away  bags are great!      Lori Holt, the designer, has a video tutorial on You Tube on how to make little stuffed pillows and make the cross stitch piece part of an envelope pillow case.  I will be doing that for these ornaments.
I started on the next one..........they are quick to work up.....I did the one above in 1 day..........just on breaks..........okay....so I took a lot of breaks and there were football games............
The pattern is from Lori Holt.............I got it because there were multiple ornaments in one pattern and I thought I would make different ones but then I decided I would make them all the same and that way I wouldn't get confused next year as to who got what.  Oh, there are buttons too!  I forgot to order them!
I chose my Christmas xs pattern.......the free Chicken Joy pattern from The Real Housewives of Cross Stitch....Priscilla and Chelsea.  I was going to use some fabric I had until I realized it was cream and there was a white chicken and snow which would not show up.  I thought I would dye some fabric but then a little voice said...."are you nuts?" Just order some and be done with it!  You see what I have to deal with?  My evil twin who gets me in more trouble than you can imagine and makes a lot of work for me!  So, I ordered a mint green piece of fabric for it.
I still need to order yarn for my Christmas Eve sock cast on.
I did work on the Blaithin CAL a tiny bit but not enough worth mentioning or showing..........I did work on my xs days though...........
Santa Sunday from last Sunday.........this pattern was gifted to me probably from Joanie.  I ran out of the red floss on this one too so I had to order along with the Stars And Stripes xs that I ran out of floss on.  Both were fancy floss.......Ribbon Red and Cherry Cobbler from Classic Colorworks.
then there was Monthly Monday..............

Witchy Wednesday...........
and Fall Friday.............

That about does it for this week and now for your Christmas Tidbits for today.............I laughed out loud at this one.....so true!

and these recipes won't help either but it's only Christmas once a year!  These recipes can be found on Taste of Home website..........
I thought this was a great idea especially for those people who have an abundance of ornaments to display......yes, Connie, I'm talking to you! LOL!
That's all for today folks......be sure and stop by the other YOPers and see what they've been up to this past week.
Happy Trails!!!
