Here comes Spring....as in severe weather!

I wasn't going to go grocery shopping today but then my intuition told me to go.  Mostly it was for pet food and supplies but then I needed organic eggs too so off I went.  Well, so glad I did as they upped the rain forecast to this afternoon although none yet but tonight and tomorrow and Saturday they are predicting a severe weather outbreak that includes the whole state of Arkansas!  So, "batten down the hatches"!  I already moved up the car to as close as I can to the garage door to protect the door as much as possible because Nitty is in there and she can't do stairs so I pray all is well for us as there is no way I can get her in the house much less the basement.  I also watered my sprouts outside and covered them back up.
While I was at Walmart I got some more jars but these are 1/2 gallon and I think my beans will fit in these...........
I got  some chalk paint in white and a chalk marker and a medium point paint marker in white and some dark wax for sealing the chalk paint......I am really in a refurbishing/re purposing/organizing kind of mood......
and guess what else I got.................yes!  I finally bit the bullet and bought it!
I have been wanting this for quite some time but Walmart never had the model I wanted so I thought I'd order from Amazon eventually but it was there last week and still there today and I took the plunge!  I can't wait to use it!  If you click on the picture it will enlarge it so you can read all the functions.  I'll keep you informed about what I make and how I like it on down the road.......
Last night I finished tissue box cover #2 and tonight or tomorrow will be done with #3....this is a great way to use up stash and so fun with all the colors.....I am definitely a scrappy, patchwork, boho kind of gal and not matchy/matchy at all.  It's nice to finally know yourself after all these years! LOL!
I also worked on my Button Eyed Cat for Witchy Wednesday.......
Tonight will be a good night to have my tortilla soup and do some handwork and read through the recipe book that comes with the Instant Pot....I can't wait to read all about it and decide what I'm going to make first and what function I will use first.
I hope you have a cozy night and enjoy your evening!
Happy Trails!!!

Snow, sleet and freezing rain but no loss of power...whew!

Late yesterday afternoon it started snowing but just for a few minutes then it sleeted and then it rained and thundered and lightening and the temp was just at that freezing mark but by morning all was fine and today the sun was out!
I baked my oatmeal crispies last night and prepped for this crockpot tortilla soup that I threw together this morning.  It's been cooking all day.........

I also made some homemade tortilla chips but they got a little bit over done...but I'll eat them anyway....I'll make some more tomorrow and adjust my timing as evidently I have a HOT oven....hotter than normal..........lol! There's also avocado, cheddar cheese and some lime juice to go on the soup too....
Last night I worked on this cross stitch as I am calling it Turkey Tuesday.....there's no pattern so I am doing it from just eyeing the picture...........
Today I worked on tissue cover #3 and hope to finish tonight.......
I will update you all soon on my Konmari, painting, and books.  I am really tired lately and hope I snap out of it soon!  Today is Witchy Wednesday so I'll be working on the Button Eyed Cat again.  I hope you had a great day and did something you enjoy!

The 3 C's....cooking, cleaning and cross stitch.......oh, and crochet too.........make that 4 C's

Monday's are always busy with catch up since I craft over the weekend.  I want to thank all of you who wrote such sweet and encouraging things to me yesterday on my knitting 'disaster'....such a minor thing when I think of the world and all it's suffering.  Someone in solitary confinement would love to have some yarn and sticks to entertain themselves and not mind at all to do it over and over again.  So, I am fine and I will knit again....just not now and not a shawl.
I still didn't get over to visit today but I will tomorrow.  I had terrible heart burn last night and had to literally sleep with 4 pillows practically in a sitting position to get it to stop. I never have heartburn but I had some V-8 which I love....I could drink a whole bottle but I only had 1 glass but that's all it took.....dang!  I really love V-8 but no more.  So, I was dragging today but managed to get a few things done.........laundry........and like Betsy Queen or Queen Betsy as we like to call her............I wash my woolen handmade socks in with the other laundry and then just lay them out on a towel to dry.  I don't have to worry about an accident of a sock getting in the dryer as I go through each item and shake them out before they go in the dryer.

I also mixed up some Oatmeal Crispies dough which are Pioneer Woman's husband's favorite cookies and maybe mine too!  They are 'chilling' in the freezer for slicing and baking tomorrow...........there's another longer package that wouldn't fit on that shelf so I think I'll have plenty!

I'm starting on my Hawk Run Hollow cross stitch for January now that I have all the floss.  I need to order ahead for projects so I am ready to start them when the time arrives.
I also finished tissue holder #2....3 more to go! I need to weave in the ends tonight...............
I'm off to fix my supper and get my jammies on......my bed is sounding really good tonight!
I hope you had a good Monday!
Happy Trails!!!

YOP Week #34

Finishes:
1)  Granny Stripe Shawl :  All finished using 1 skein of Lion Brand Mandala.  This is acrylic so I won't block it but I will wash it and throw it in the dryer............a very enjoyable project

 WIPs (works in progress):
1) I got about 2 1/2 rows done on this.............the rows are getting longer and longer..............

2)  The Multnomah -  I guess I need a 'frogged' section...this was a huge disappointment this week after all that work I did not evidently understand the directions for the border....'fan and feather'?  I have since seen a bunch of info and videos on You Tube about it.  Everyone.....1,000's, have said it was an easy pattern but not for me........the designer did have an addendum to her pattern but said she wrote the pattern 3 years before so not sure it helped.  So,  I will be putting this away and curtailing knitting in the future....too many hours of work to end in disaster.  I am just not cut out to be a knitter.   It's hard to see the pattern but it's a 'hot mess'......so sad as I love to knit but this kind of disappointment is too much after this many years of knitting...I thought I'd paid my dues but evidently not.............if I knit it will be small projects...very small.............

3) So, I started another tissue box cover...........I need 5 in this house and this is number 2 and a great use of leftover yarn............

4)  I didn't do any cross stitch except my floss came in for Hawk Run Hollow and I carded it up.......

New Starts:
This doesn't count for YOP but I did start chalk painting my headboard of my bed.............one coat and it needs another....you can still see the stenciling underneath it................
