Big storms last night and tornadoes on all sides......

Sock knitting.....I need to get back to it!
I am running behind today because the weather radio kept waking me up all night.  I slept in finally.   There were tornadoes to the west and south but we were lucky and it bypassed us.  Mountain Home got hit near the hospital but I have no idea how bad.  It's hard to get news here.  I'll find out tonight on the local news hopefully.
Today was much cooler!  High 50's but no 70's!  I went for my walk, went up to the town mailbox and mailed a letter.  I had washed a load of clothes last night so I hung them outside.  I made bread dough which is rising on top of the fridge. It was chilly and damp in the house so I got a fire going.
I put another corned beef on the stove to cook
and now I am sitting down with a cup of tea..............
and my crocheted scarf.............

I hope you are enjoying your Friday...I'll catch up with everyone tomorrow as I was way behind today getting up so late...........
Here are your "tidbits" for today........................Here's the link

Well, that day went by in a flash!

I went for my walk fairly early this morning in between rain showers.......it was warm and foggy.........
You can't see the leaves anymore on the forest floor.....all the greenery is taking over.
I'm not sure what these flowers are but they are bigger than violets and not the same at all........... the leaves almost look like euonymous.....
a blooming tree in the woods...I have no idea what it is
The creeks and streams are all running pretty fast with all the rain we've had..........by summer they'll be dry as a bone...............
I filled up my cleaning bottles with my orange peel infused vinegar............I added some more peels and more vinegar
and this afternoon I made Cherry Breakfast Swirl from The Farmchicks in the Kitchen cookbook...delish!  It's a keeper for sure!  It makes a big jelly roll pan full and is easy to make.  I'll post the recipe tomorrow..............
Here are your "tidbits" for today.................
In case you run out of meat or are going "meatless" this looks tasty and it's slow cooker too.........Here's the recipe

I'm going to try this and hope it works as I don't like chemicals........but I have to do something! Here's the recipe

and a little chuckle for the day............

Cleaning bug..........

My family room was really "bugging" me so I did some cleaning in there today.  I only clean things that bother me.....and there is more in this room that needs cleaning but I felt good about what I accomplished today.  The chair on the left contains one of 2 of Miss Peep's "babies"....she drags them all over the house and occasionally bathes them and I've seen her give them "what for" too!  Sometimes I'll go to sit down at my desk and she will have left one or both on my chair.  I'm assuming she wants me to babysit them.  She's a hoot that girl!  I even vacuumed the chairs as Miss Grace (A long hair...what was I thinking?) leaves hairs all over the house.

I also cleaned the inside of the fireplace and prepped for a fire but probably tomorrow.  It's just cool enough to have some heat to take the dampness out of the house but not too much as by noon it's getting warm.  I always prep for the next fire that way I only have to light it.
Above is a cutting holder....all the glasses are for "cuttings" from plants to root in water.........below that is an old metal washboard that I use for magnets.
On my breaks, I worked on the crocheted scarf.  If it looks smaller you are right!  I couldn't figure out where I was so I had to start over.  I'm good now and with the additional yarn, I shouldn't have to stop again.
I hope you are having a healthy and hopeful day.  Here are your "tidbits"...........

 This is genius!

I thought this was a great idea for keeping your earrings together....

Here's the tutorial
and now for something to make you smile in this time of not too much to smile about...........but remember.....it could always be worse!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

I had my corned beef and cabbage last night with all the vegetables.....oh, it was so delicious!  I'll have it again tonight and it will be even better! lol!
I got a lovely handmade card in the mail today!  From Far Side (Connie) on my sidebar.  I tell you it's handmade because she is so good you would never know.  Thank you Connie!  I loved the card and the note.  It was a bit of sunshine in a drab and rainy spring right now.

I have several blooming trees; one in my yard and another couple right on the edge of my property.  They're not the same either so I'm hoping maybe a plum or some kind of fruit tree?  Although I don't remember seeing any fruit in the past.

This is the Bradford pear in my yard and it has pink in the center of the blossoms...........
This one does not and the blossoms look different.........
I think the daffodils are just about done...........the hail storm wasn't kind to them..........
We had a nice thunderstorm early this morning.  I checked to ensure there were no warnings and then went back to sleep.  What a cozy sleep it is during a thunderstorm.
I worked some on my scarf again.  Not sure if I am doing it correctly but we shall see eventually....
I got the garbage can in, got the mail and took my walk.  I cleaned up the house and went through paperwork.  I started on my taxes but need some info from my "people" so I have a message into Sarah.....the mystery Christmas card, remember?  Such a sweet family!  I was hoping I would receive my St. Patrick's Day present I ordered for myself about 3 weeks ago but nada!  I will never order from Beachside Stitches again!  She got her money so I hope I get my order!  I'm about done for the day.  I'll kick back and watch A Place To Call Home on Acorn.  I'm addicted to that series!  So good!
Here are your "tidbits" for today............
I must be getting hungry as this caught my eye immediately!  Plus, Pinterest has a whole section on Healthy Mind and Body related to the virus pandemic......check it out....the WHO is on there too!
Here's the recipe for these buffalo potatoes...yum!

If you're bored or quarantined or both.....here's some ideas!
and for a little humor...very little............

St. Patrick's Day Eve!

I'm cooking the corned beef right now and all the vegetables are peeled and prepped.......potatoes
carrots, turnips and rutabaga.........
and of course, cabbage..........
lots of wonderful peelings to go in the compost bin!  I took the garbage out and went for my walk and then came back and cut the hyacinths as the hail knocked them all down the other night.
Here are your "tidbits" for today...........Irish Oatmeal cake
Here's the recipe
Isn't this design amazing?   It is a stash-busting pattern too!  Here's the link to the pattern
  and for a little chuckle..............

YOP Week #37

I'm not getting much crafting done with spring planting and gardening.  Although, to be honest, I am behind in that area too.  I keep trying to come up with a "handwork routine" and I might have one finally.  I think 3 projects at a time are all I can handle and that will be whatever I chose but most probably a knitting project, a crochet project, and a miscellaneous project.  I'll see how it goes.
This week I did not get the Prim Village cross stitch border finished but I got so bored with it I started on one of the houses.   I don't care for their schedule on it so I'll do my own.
Remember this one?  I was at Walmart this past week and was able to get more of that yarn...not sure if it's the same dye lot but what the heck.  This is crochet.
I was reading a friends' blog and she had started a shawl/scarf that looked very enjoyable and I loved the style of it.  I made a very similar scarf for my firstborn when he was a baby but it was crocheted and of course, it was much smaller.  This is a free pattern on Ravelry.  It is The Miss Marple shawl/scarf   Here's the link
Here's mine so far.............
That's all the "craftiness" this week.  It's been rainy here which makes me sleepy and not too energetic but I'm pushing through it!  Although, I did take a 2-hour nap yesterday....I couldn't stay awake! LOL!
This week I will be making the American St. Patrick's Day dinner of corned beef and cabbage and so much more. I'm watching an addicting series on Acorn called A Place to Call Home.  I'm reading Joy of Life (french) and Cherry Cheesecake Murder by Joane Fluke...both good!  I hope you all stay healthy and away from the coronavirus!
Here are your "tidbits" for today...................

I thought this was really interesting!
Here's the link
If you have an Instant Pot this is so cool!  Here's the recipe  It's never too early to start thinking about Christmas....just sayin'.
There are no instructions but really you could crochet any squares and attach to some fabric and VOILA!
Words of wisdom....................
Happy Trails!!!
