Lazy day................

I did very little today.  I did my daily chores and I did laundry and took a bath.  I also took a walk as it is a beautiful day here...about 50 F and sunny.  I did work on my Fall Friday yesterday............but that's about all.

I have no idea where the time goes but it goes.   I took everything very slowly today...........shopped online and bought nothing.

Slow boat to China this cleaning and organizing!

 I went back at it today...........

I emptied everything out of the top drawer of my nightstand..........yes, that's right.....all that was in 1 drawer!

the last of it.....little tiny beads somehow from somewhere..................

Okay.............that's better.........

 so where did all the other stuff go?  Well............a container of craft room items............

and a container of jewelry items..............they will have a place of their own...just not today and not in my nightstand.............

I did take a walk today and I heard back from the doctor (nurse) and I went from a 10 mg pill to a 20mg pill once a day and now I am supposed to take 2 a day......old age really creeps up on you fast!  Plus, the stress of this past summer might have done a number on me too.  But, it could be worse!
The porch is leaking again....my life is beginning to feel like that movie Groundhog Day!  I'll have to call them Monday.  It came with a 15-year warranty so hopefully, I'm covered?
I finished a book today; book #2 for 2020...only 73 more to go for the challenge! This book was okay; well written and an easy read and I love books set in "the old days" such as WW2.  It just wasn't one I couldn't put down but it was better than a lot of books.....probably a 3 out of 5 or maybe a 3.5. 

I checked on my pharmacist and she had a baby girl on Wednesday!  I am just finishing up the bibs so that's good!  Just have the straps on the last one which will probably get done tonight.

Finally progress on Cleaning Extravaganza Week #3

It's Thursday and I'm really just getting going but it's alright as at least I am going!  I went straight to work in the bedroom today.  I first took the vacuum brush to the baseboards and corners and the carpeting right next to the baseboards where the vacuum never gets.  Not the entire room mind you....just the area I was working on.  Don't you love all the wires?  I thought I was wireless but evidently not completely.

I cleaned the dresser and polished and cleaned all the remotes and wires and "boxes".  Might as well watch a knitting podcast while I'm cleaning.

I cleaned out all the drawers and was able to fill 1/2 of a shopping bag with more stuff for the Salvation Army.
This is my journal drawer...it's full because I haven't taken 2019 out of there yet.     

This drawer has a few scarves and gloves and shoe accessories...........

This drawer holds the weather radio and extra batteries and shoelaces plus instructions for the t.v. and fiber connection and a spare battery for the carbon monoxide detector.

I cleaned out all the rest of the drawers too which really weren't too bad as I had cleaned them out not too long ago.........

I cleaned the top of this nightstand next to my bed but the drawers?  Oh boy.....those are going to be a job in themselves....I tend to throw things in them and they will have to be totally emptied out, cleaned and organized.  I have lots of things that I use on my nightstand....chapstick, hand cream, night meds, books, mirror, kleenex....not counting my craft paraphernalia!  That nightstand alone may take all day! LOL!

I got treasures in the mail today!!!  My needle punch...........with an instruction booklet and 3 different needle sizes

 The pattern I picked out came with the material and instructions.  I thought this pattern was so cute!

 I'll be reading up on it tonight and then hopefully tomorrow I'll trace the pattern and give it a go!
It was a great day for cleaning as it was dark and gloomy and rainy all day and still is.....cozy weather!

 This is really useful and I can never find the information when I need it.....I think I'll print it off and put it in my bill paying notebook.

We have a winter weather advisory....yippee!

I should be careful though as I don't want one of those ice storms and I certainly want everyone to get home from work safely.  Today was all those little household chores that seem to add up when I am gone for a day.  So, it was laundry, ironing and I picked up a few groceries and a prescription.  I had them check my blood pressure and it was high again so I had to call the doctor and now I am waiting for a callback and couldn't go for my walk because of it.  It's 4:00 and I am just now getting ready to work on the bedroom.  Oh well, I did take a few breaks and worked on my Witchy Wednesday.......

    That was the only photo-worthy activity I did today.  Oh, I also mailed a birthday card.
I guess we'll get right to the "tidbits" for today.................

I'm pretty sure I've made this before or at least something similar and it was tasty and quick and most of us have these ingredients on hand..............

I was told I was a "double blessing" to the Salvation Army!

Who knew!?!  Yes, I went to Mountain Home today and donated all those bags and more and then I went in the store and bought some things.  I was joking with a gal next to me that I needed to be careful and not buy as much as I had donated.  She looked at me and said "You are a double blessing to this organization".....I was taken aback but honored that she felt that way.  I've just always liked the Salvation Army so I am glad I went.
I did find some treasures while I was there.....I found a big turkey platter that was something I had always wanted with all those Thanksgiving dinners I hosted but now it's just me so I guess I don't need it.  But I did find some material..............this was a full size top sheet that I could use to make curtains...........

 This was some upholstery fabric that I liked...................

 these are just some odds and ends but several were Connecting Threads fabrics.............

 I loved this one and thought it was so interesting and then I noticed the salvage where it was printed "inspired by a quilt from the International Quilt Study Center - University of Nebraska - Lincoln"...lucky me!

 Then there was this book which had a lot of neat projects in it................Sewing In No Time

  I spent a total of $12 and I think I got some real buys!  My Starbucks coffee was not a buy but it kept me awake on the way home!  It was a beautiful sunny day for a drive and only got to 35 but with no wind and sun it was nice to take a walk when I got home.  It's supposed to rain the next 2 days so I figured I'd better take advantage of the nice weather.

 I think someone's been reading my journal............I did this all the time............... I even had one of those special baskets for stairs!

  I fixed that problem though....no more stairs and no more family members! LOL!

Happy MLK Day!

Even though I knew it was Martin Luther King Day I still went out to check the mail....duh....I'm sure I gave the neighbors a chuckle.  I was totally focused on Cleaning Extravaganza Week #3.....The Bedroom!  I don't seem to get much done on those projects on Mondays though as there'd always lots of regular chores to get to.  But I did a bit.........I loaded up the Tahoe with 5 bags of "stuff" and there are some clothes on hangers in the back seat.  The potting soil has been in there since last fall. 

 I did start in the bedroom.....I did the baseboards in the closet and vacuumed it and then came around the corner and took the one plant in the room and gave it a bath....in the bathtub, of course! LOL!  Part of cleaning the bedroom was removing all those bags.  There was also laundry today and I managed to get a walk in.

 When I took a break I just grabbed this cowl which is easy to work on.  I have 10 rows done which is the small version or I can continue and do the larger one which is 20 rows and I think that is what I will do.  It's' a Hobby Lobby yarn...worsted and variegated.

Yesterday, I made some comfort food..............a Frito casserole..........

 and some Turtle brownies..................I needed them after the sock tragedies this past week.............

I'm looking forward to "leftovers" tonight!

I finally learned this....a little late in life but I learned it!

I rarely get headaches or any of that other stuff either but if I did I might try this..............

Okay, I have to make this as I have Jim's t-shirts and a bunch more .................and if you've priced t-shirt yarn it is not cheap!   I was going to make dog and cat beds but now maybe rugs?  Before I go to the trouble I should check what else I can make with it..............

This reminds me of when I was parenting teenagers many moons ago! LOL!
