Who knew!?! Yes, I went to Mountain Home today and donated all those bags and more and then I went in the store and bought some things. I was joking with a gal next to me that I needed to be careful and not buy as much as I had donated. She looked at me and said "You are a double blessing to this organization".....I was taken aback but honored that she felt that way. I've just always liked the Salvation Army so I am glad I went.
I did find some treasures while I was there.....I found a big turkey platter that was something I had always wanted with all those Thanksgiving dinners I hosted but now it's just me so I guess I don't need it. But I did find some material..............this was a full size top sheet that I could use to make curtains...........
This was some upholstery fabric that I liked...................
these are just some odds and ends but several were Connecting Threads fabrics.............
I loved this one and thought it was so interesting and then I noticed the salvage where it was printed "inspired by a quilt from the International Quilt Study Center - University of Nebraska - Lincoln"...lucky me!
Then there was this book which had a lot of neat projects in it................Sewing In No Time
I spent a total of $12 and I think I got some real buys! My Starbucks coffee was not a buy but it kept me awake on the way home! It was a beautiful sunny day for a drive and only got to 35 but with no wind and sun it was nice to take a walk when I got home. It's supposed to rain the next 2 days so I figured I'd better take advantage of the nice weather.
Here are your "tidbits" for today............
Have you always wanted to learn how to needle felt? Well, here's your chance! The link is here
50 Classic Cookie Recipes that Grandma knew by heart? Well, count me in! Here's the link
I think someone's been reading my journal............I did this all the time............... I even had one of those special baskets for stairs!
I fixed that problem though....no more stairs and no more family members! LOL!
Happy Trails!!!

Yay, for your good shopping day! (And for a great post too!) I try not to bring much into the house these days, but I can never resist a nice piece of cloth. Older pieces seem to be better than what is being made today. Enjoy your rainy days!

DeleteThank you! It was a nice day to get out and about and such a pretty drive to Mountain Home. Now we have a winter weather advisory! Yes, I can't resist pretty fabric especially at those prices!
DeleteYou got some great finds today. Needle felting looks interesting but it is wool and that won't work for me. (Sad face) I too tried the stair thingy. I got real good at carrying it all up myself each time I went upstairs lol.
ReplyDeleteAre you allergic to wool? I was going to ask you if you made those short socks out of cotton for summer? I need summer socks.
DeleteSounds like you had fun shopping. I buy my fabrics from Connecting Threads; the cottons are so silky soft. Their prices have gone up in the last couple of years, but I suppose it's worth it.
ReplyDeleteI have not ordered from them but I was on their website the other day and they have some very pretty fabric!
DeleteYour fabrics are just lovely!
ReplyDeleteI like then too especially their prices!
DeleteYou did find some nice things. I try not to go inside when I drop a donation off because I always end up bringing things home.
ReplyDeleteWhen our kids were home I tried the basket thing too but it never worked. Everyone else had no problem just walking right past the basket. :-" I gave up relatively quickly. I have to admit, the kids were pretty good at at least getting things into their rooms.
Have a great day my friend.
Blessings,
Betsy
I drove quite a ways to get there so it was my reward! If I can get something I have needed at a lesser price then it is worth it. I also got a little whisk for .50 which I have needed for awhile.

ReplyDeleteThe great thing about cleaning out and cleaning up is more room for new treasures!
ReplyDeleteYes! You are so right! LOL!
DeleteI know I don't comment often, but read you regularly and always enjoy all that you share and write. So I'll try to be better about commenting 'cause I want you to know I definitely do read your always positive posts. (Not that one can't do a little "complaining" now and then -- I call it "sharing" -- when it's done in the right vein!)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite saying about trying to get the family to participate (!) in those little household chores like carrying things upstairs when they go that way is: "Changing the empty toilet paper roll will not cause brain damage." ;o)
Oh, thank you so much! I certainly enjoy your posts that's for sure! Yes, I think I do remember a vicious rumor that changing toilet paper could cause brain damage! LOL! I'm glad someone finally dispelled that rumor!
DeleteYeah you made the delivery! Looks like you left more than you came back with! Yes a double blessing for sure!
ReplyDeleteYes I am marking my stuff for a garage sale. I am certain that some will get donated!
I was a HIV-AIDS patient and I got it from cheating on my wife. It was sort of a payback but a week later I was told by a friend that the person who I cheated with had the HIV-AIDS virus and did not tell me. I was so stupid by not using a condom I thought since he was an old school friend he was trustworthy. But I was wrong. I cried and cried. Two days later, I got a phone call from my friend and he told me about a person who is known by another friend, who can help me. I could not let my wife know what I was going through. I finally got his email address: oseremenspelltemple@gmail.com and I emailed this man my story and he replied me immediately saying i should be calm and told me that everything will be OK. I could not come to terms with what I was hearing but then I concluded it did not matter because I was so broken I just needed help. I was going out of my mind literally. I was confused with what he was telling me, but I listened. He told me about some materials i need to buy that he needed to cast the spell and I said OK. I bought the materials to him, I sent down my picture to him and my positive result sheet and he replied me that i am going to be negative under 3days. I message Him every 2hours for 2day and I knew he thought that I was crazy but I did care I needed a shoulder. Behold, the third day he messaged me i should go for a test that i will be negative. My marriage could be broken because of a stupid mistake and my life was on the line. I remembered when I was going to get the results of my re-test I called him up again and told him that I was going to get my results today and his reply was “so" and that everything will be as he explained. I knew then that he was getting tired of me calling him, maybe I was wrong. Well I got my results and the first person I called was him - again. As he said hello I started to cry and cry. I could not believe it. I was given a second chance in life. This man is a great spiritual HIV/AIDS healer, his healing spell on aids healing is very powerful .please brothers and sister, contact Dr Ose oseremenspelltemple@gmail.com
