Happy Saturday!!!

As usual, I did not get everything done I wanted to yesterday or today....maybe 20%?  LOL!  But I will eat good tonight!  A gal has to have her priorities!
Yesterday I finally got a cupboard cleared out....there was 'no room in the inn'!  Take a look........
and this was everything that came out of it..........

Some of those items I don't even eat anymore and some had no business in that cabinet to begin with..........emptied and washed.............
I wanted to utilize my Ball jars and the new lids so I put a bag of black beans in one but they wouldn't all fit........I guess I'll have to have 2 jars for each item?  The main jar and a 'back up' jar?  I got the fine point white paint marker but it is too fine.  I'll have to get the medium point and more jars and more lids.
I put it back together but there will be more organizing and 'pitching' as I go through the other cupboards.  I threw out a bunch of expired stuff and things I do not eat anymore.....filled a whole garbage.....I don't know how all of that stuff fit in there?!?
My herbs are all up and doing well...........

Teeny, tiny mint................
Basil....

and Cilantro........

Yesterday I also toasted my spaghetti squash seeds.....they're gone! LOL!
Today I was going to chalk paint my headboard which is an old door that I painted and stenciled when my kids were babies..........I think it's time!  I should have given it to the ex and his wife on their wedding day! LOL!
But I also needed to make a meal and a dessert so this is what happened instead............
2 spinach quiche and some gingersnaps from the frozen roll of them...........I guess the headboard will have to wait until tomorrow!
What have you been up to lately?

God took me shopping at Walmart!!!

Okay, so here's the story morning glory.  It was supposed to rain today but when I woke up they had pushed the rain until tomorrow.  I thought, yippee, I can work outside today.....then I realized the girl's needed their meds refilled so I got some chores done and instead of working outside I figured I'd better go get their  meds otherwise I'd have to go tomorrow in the rain.  I can drive in rain but I really don't like to if I can avoid it....roads around here flood over easily.  So, I went to the vets and got what they needed.  I thought as long as I was over by Walmart I might as well stop and get a few things plus.....it's a holiday which means I don't have to eat healthy and I can have whatever I want!
BTW.............Happy Valentine's Day!!!  These are some old suffragette Valentine's from long ago.........
So, after I picked up the meds (way more expensive than mine) I headed to Walmart where I was surprised to find this..............chalk paint and the brush to use with it!  I was just looking for this online yesterday and it said it was in Mountain Home and not available for shipping...........
and these 2 items which were on my Amazon list............these are white plastic lids that come in 2 sizes (widemouth and regular) to fit mason jars.  I am going to clean my cupboards and organize them putting items in Ball jars with the lids.  The oil paint marker (white) is to write the item name on the glass.  It stays on until you scrub it.  I'm using the jars I have but they come in all sizes from tiny to huge so I am thinking this is the way to go for organizing my cupboards.  I did not think of this......I saw Lisa on Farmhouse on Boone organize her cupboards this way and it looked really nice and you could see everything at a glance.
God also tempted me by putting the exact model of Instant Pot that I wanted at Walmart when they have never carried that model before!  But I knew it was a 'test' and I walked on by but it wasn't easy.....every month I have thought I could order it and every month some emergency pops up preventing me.  I'm just joking...I have no idea if it was a test but it was a personal one for me and I passed!  But then I went and got this for my Valentine's Day celebration tonight................Screamin' Sicilian Supreme Pizza

and for dessert..................brown butter salted caramel ice cream.....oh, be still my beating heart!  Not really....keep on beating especially after I eat all this! LOL!
I also got a Valentine's Day call from Uriah and he told me he went to the dentist today and had no cavitites!  Hurray!
What are you up to on this celebration of love day?  I hope you have a great time and that you are feeling loved!

Busy as a bee!!!

Spring is coming too early...I'm not ready.  I like long winters.  I wanted to work outside today because the weather was supposed to be nice but unfortunately my cat, Grace, did something on my bed that made me have to strip my sheets and wash them and my comforter and blanket.....then we lost power.............I did manage to wash my rugs and get them out on the line.............
but no weeding or mulching took place and it's supposed to rain for the next 2 days now.  I did prep my squash seeds for toasting....tomorrow...they need to dry..........
I picked some more greens for a salad tonight.......

and I printed off a plant inventory which is really nice ............I still need to find out how much of each plant I need to plant for one person to get through until the next season........you can get this printout at MellisaKNorris.com.  I was going to link it for you but lost it when the power went out......
So, the bed's remade and now I am going to take a bath and have my supper.  I hope your cat didn't leave you any 'surprise'....what is up with my animals?  Some days I think they hate me!  Tomorrow out comes the rug shampooer!  I know they're old but really?  Annie goes in the house and then barks to go outside where she does nothing.......I think they're all senile!  I love them but this is getting ridiculous.  I think God is wanting me to stay here because I certainly can't have my house shown in this condition and I can't keep up with it!  Woe is me but it's okay.....it could be worse....at least I have a home and the girls aren't in pain or suffering and neither am I.  Forgive me for complaining.  I hope you had a great day....blessings to all!
Happy Trails!!!

The rain finally stopped!

The sun is out and the plants are growing!  A little rain and a little sun and whamo!  Yes, the weeds are growing too but can you see the tulips and the hyacinth buds?
I had to get out and do some errands today and it was garbage day....so lucky it wasn't on one of the rainy days.   I had to go to the library and take some books back and of course....if there's books I have to get some.........I always find something interesting...........I'm still reading Pandemic 1918...very informative but the rest are all new today.................

I got some treasures in the mail too............this was my favorite..............a Valentine's Day card from my daughter and her family..............too cute!  "Wishing You A Llama Love"....llamas are really "in" right now.  My family is so good to me............and thoughtful too!  They were all off of school because of the snow....again.... so I got calls from all today.
Yesterday I was "under the weather"....I think it was Spring allergies or Spring fever?  I was sneezing and my eyes were bothering me so I couldn't read or see very well.....tired and listless.....thank goodness it only lasted one day!  I have "miles to go before I sleep"!
My cross stitch supplies came in the mail!  Yippee!
My first Christmas ornament of 2019............now I have to get some of that polka dot cross stitch fabric..............
My first SAL with Priscilla and Chelsea with "Bless Our Home" by Country Cottage Needleworks.....it's a patriotic one..............
also my floss for Hawk Run Hollow January. I order it all from 123Stitch online.
I got myself a little treat while I was out and about.............these are $1 at the Dollar General and there are 6 in a package ...they are good!  I love turtles and these fit the bill plus they also have chocolate covered salted caramels which are also delicious.  I'm not a big candy eater but every once in awhile I get a 'hankerin' for some.  What's nice is there are only 6 pieces in each bag so you really can't over do it unless you buy multiple bags which I never do only did once............
I spent some time...quite a bit of time actually.........researching seeds that Roots and Refuge farm uses as they're not too far from me and how to varmit proof my yard so I can garden...........in the end it came to this................

Unfortunately this little number costs almost $2000.00!!!  Yikes Batman!  But where there's a will there's a way and there are all kinds of directions for making raised beds and the deer fencing to go at least along the sides, if not the top too.    There are also metal ones but not sure if I could attach the deer fencing to them.  We shall see!  But I am determined to garden this year and I am not sharing with those critters!!!  Are you gardening this year?  Do you have 'critters' you have to contend with?  What are your solutions to weeds and bugs and varmits?
Happy Trails!!!
