Walmart Pickup!!!

Today was a lovely day; cloudy but 70 F and breezy which was great for the load of clothes I hung out on the line and the walk I took in the morning.  I did my usual chores and then made my spaghetti sauce.........it's not mine really, it's Mario Batali's sauce recipe for his eggplant parmigiana which I have used for years now as my pasta sauce for everything.  It's easy and so delicious!

Besides my daily chores I cleaned the frig too.  I always like to clean it before I go grocery shopping.  I also worked on my Miss Marple scarf on breaks.  I checked my Walmart order online and about 3:00 it stated it was ready for pickup.   So, off I went.  The young man that came out did not practice social distancing but he did ask if I wanted him to sign so I didn't have to and I said yes.  They tell you if they couldn't get something or if they substituted.  In my case, there was no bacon and they had to substitute my coffee choice.  No biggy.  I was grateful for it but right now my groceries are out in the garage.  My daughter said I need to wash where he opened the back of my car and I did then I brought the groceries into the garage and put the frozen food away as the freezer is in the garage.  I came in and washed my hands.  Then you're supposed to take the stuff out of the bags and sanitize...I'm just using soap and water and oh boy, what an ordeal. Especially for me at the end of the day as I'm tired.  I usually go shopping early in the day.  Now they're saying if you order it won't be ready for 2 days.  When I went the Walmart parking lot was packed and the sale barn for the county (farm animals) was packed.  There were only 3 of us in the grocery delivery parking area.  Not sure what people are thinking because if there's no testing how do you know who's sick?  Well, all we can do is try but social distancing didn't look like it was taking place in my neck of the woods!  I thanked the young man and the gal on the phone and wished them well.  I'm going to skip "tidbits" tonight as I still need to go sanitize my groceries and make my supper!

Ready to rock n' roll!!!

I feel great again and progress has been made yesterday and today.  I'm still slow but I keep at it!  Today I made a menu, a grocery list and ordered online from Walmart to pick up tomorrow between 3 and 4 p.m.  They said they would email me but they have my old email plus they said I could check the Walmart app?  I don't have a Walmart app......I gave them my phone number and they said they would text me!  Good luck with that on my landline! LOL!  I'll just show up at the appointed time and hope for the best.  They were short on things.....no regular flour, I had to buy almond flour and no organic eggs which I don't understand as there are usually lots because most don't buy the organic.  There were limits of 2 of each item which doesn't make it easy to make my tuna casserole which requires like 8 oz's and I could only get the packets of tuna which are 2 oz each.  Oh well.  Tuna is something I  eat a lot for lunch especially.  But I am not going hungry by any means like so many across the world so I will zip my lips!
I cleaned up the house, got the mail, went for my walk and cleaned the toilets.  It's a beautiful day and actually pretty warm at 85 F!  I told you we go right from winter to summer practically.  It was in the 50's yesterday.  At least it's not humid yet.
Not much that's picture-worthy lately.  I did work on my Miss Marple scarf.  It's going well if I'm doing it right but it sure seems like an odd construction.
I made some popcorn for a snack and I might make some cookies later...we'll see....I've already been going for 14 hours.....I was up really early this morning.
Here are your "tidbits" for today.............
Susan Branch is always uplifting..............

Ohhhh, homemade bagels.....yummm.............

By the way, I made corned beef hash last night with the rest of the leftover corned beef and cabbage...another yummmmm!

Great repurposing!
and a little bit of "funny ha-ha"................

Not sick just tired.............

I was "too pooped to pop" yesterday.  I dozed at my desk, in my chair crocheting and I just couldn't take it anymore so I went to bed! LOL!  I feel much better today.  Maybe sometimes you just have to take "a sick day" whether you're sick or not.
Not too much exciting still.  I did my regular chores, took my walk and cleaned the litter boxes.  I washed and hung out a load of clothes and watered plants in and out..........here's my lettuce; the radishes aren't up yet.............
I filled the water bottles that I drink from and worked on my crocheted scarf......I've done 6 rows and I have 10 left...........I love it but dang it's hard on my hands!

I started a Grandma's Favorite Washcloth as I had a project on Ravelry for a dozen and it only shows that I did 5 so far.  I know I've done some crocheted ones but they don't count on this project.  I am determined to start finishing things!

I did finish Cherry Cheesecake Murder by Joanne Fluke.  It was good but not her best.  The plot was excellent but there was too much "stuff" leading up to the murder which didn't take place until halfway through the book........ now I'm reading book #1 in the Lord Peter Wimsey series by Dorothy Sayers.....we'll see if I care for it.

I started decorating my tree for Spring/Easter............So far there is one crocheted egg and the 3 memorial ornaments that my friend Vickie made which will always hang there; one for Jim, one for Nitty, and one for Annie.  So beautiful, Vickie, thank you again!
Here are your"tidbits" for today..........

This looks good to me and I'm not even a fish lover............... Here's the recipe

Pretty quiet here................

I forgot to show this the other day but my grandson Uriah sent me a St. Patrick's Day card!  How sweet!  I  usually send out cards to the grands but I didn't get to it this year.  He is such a thoughtful boy!

Today I received a beautiful card from Betsy Queen (on my sidebar).  Thank you so much, Betsy, your thoughts and prayers really make a difference and it certainly made my day brighter!

I did my usual chores and then went to the pharmacy to pick up my prescriptions.  I used the drive-up window for the first time.  Not sure if that's any safer but we'll see.  I mailed a few bills and came home and took my walk.  I'm trying to finish some things so I am being monogamous on the crocheted scarf and I'm trying to finish the Cherry Cheesecake Murder mystery.   I am wrapping up the cleaning of the family room.  I cleaned this bookcase today and I'm trying a temporary "curtain" in front of the shelves.  I want to see how I like it before I actually sew it.  Right now It's just pinned in place.  I did clean all the shelves.  I'm not trying to hide anything other than they aren't that attractive.  I have stationary and bill and budget items in baskets.  I also have my handwork so Miss Peeps doesn't get it yet it's handy for me to grab.
Slow progress but progress.  It doesn't seem to take much to tire me out anymore and when I sit down for a break I doze off......is this what old age is?  Crimminetly!
Here are your "tidbits" for today................
People are making these for health care workers but I'm not sure they would give the same protection as the professional masks.  Does anyone know?  I have fabric but need elastic.  I need confirmation before I start making them.  Here's the link

These look yummy and she says they are easy to make.  Here' s the recipe

You know it's never too early to start thinking about Christmas!
and last but not least!

Happy Trails!!!
