Pretty quiet here................

I forgot to show this the other day but my grandson Uriah sent me a St. Patrick's Day card!  How sweet!  I  usually send out cards to the grands but I didn't get to it this year.  He is such a thoughtful boy!

Today I received a beautiful card from Betsy Queen (on my sidebar).  Thank you so much, Betsy, your thoughts and prayers really make a difference and it certainly made my day brighter!

I did my usual chores and then went to the pharmacy to pick up my prescriptions.  I used the drive-up window for the first time.  Not sure if that's any safer but we'll see.  I mailed a few bills and came home and took my walk.  I'm trying to finish some things so I am being monogamous on the crocheted scarf and I'm trying to finish the Cherry Cheesecake Murder mystery.   I am wrapping up the cleaning of the family room.  I cleaned this bookcase today and I'm trying a temporary "curtain" in front of the shelves.  I want to see how I like it before I actually sew it.  Right now It's just pinned in place.  I did clean all the shelves.  I'm not trying to hide anything other than they aren't that attractive.  I have stationary and bill and budget items in baskets.  I also have my handwork so Miss Peeps doesn't get it yet it's handy for me to grab.
Slow progress but progress.  It doesn't seem to take much to tire me out anymore and when I sit down for a break I doze off......is this what old age is?  Crimminetly!
Here are your "tidbits" for today................
People are making these for health care workers but I'm not sure they would give the same protection as the professional masks.  Does anyone know?  I have fabric but need elastic.  I need confirmation before I start making them.  Here's the link

These look yummy and she says they are easy to make.  Here' s the recipe

You know it's never too early to start thinking about Christmas!
and last but not least!

Happy Trails!!!

  1. Hi Sam! I'm glad you got your prescriptions. We have to use mail order with our insurance for recurring meds and I ordered them two weeks ago. We got the last one on Saturday so we're set for 3 months. I hope this mess will all be over before then.
How sweet of Uriah to send you a card for St. Patricks day. He seem so thoughtful.
Tomorrow I'm going to tackle some shelves in my room that have books I've wanted to read but haven't. I don't know whether to just give up and take them to the Goodwill. Maybe I'll read them eventually. That's what always happens. I second guess myself and so I end up not getting ready of anything! :-)
Have a great afternoon Sam! I'm glad you liked the card. You were heavy on my heart the other night and I decided to just send you a card. Mail is always fun.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

    1. Thank you so much for the card! I have been in sort of a funk the past couple weeks. It doesn't happen often but hearing about others losses brought mine forward again. I'm better this week and I know you and Connie have been a big part of it with your lovely notes of encouragement. There are so many suffering right now across the world that it is mind boggling. Good luck with your shelves....I know how hard it is especially books!

  2. I like the little curtain infront of the bookcase. What a pleasant way to hide things that are not visually pleasing. I love the drive up window at the pharmacy. That way you only have contact with 1 person. I love those earrings! They made me laugh. Stay well, Sam.

    1. I'm sure none of us will actually want to recall this year especially those who have been directly affected by this disease and the health care workers putting their lives on the line everywhere. It's a fine line with keeping your sense of humor and being respectful of those who have suffered so much and are still suffering. Stay well!

  3. Our country has now officially gone into lockdown for the next three weeks (think they're breaking it to us gently by putting such a short timeline on it but I expect it will change). My elderly mother now has to stay put for 12 weeks (advice for the over-70's and people with underlying health conditions). Love that 'funny' and so appropriate right now.Take care of you.

    1. I saw your precious new addition and congratulations! I am trying to stay put but I do need the meds and groceries eventually, I am over 70 and have 2 immune suppressed diseases but better me than someone with a young family. I will pray for your Mother and that new little one and his family. You take care also.

    1. It's cute but I am sure that there will be many who will not want to recall this year when it's over with.

  6. My daughter is a nurse in our local ER and they are out of masks so I am making as many as I can. They are not as effective as the N95 masks but they are better than nothing. They are desperate. I ran out of elastic and tried to buy some but everyone is out...none in the local stores and none online. There is one place in China that can get them to us in May! I have a friend looking through her notions to see if she has any.

    1. Connie just mentioned that the ties made of cloth are better so they can sterilize them?

  7. I read that making the masks with ties is the best that way they can go in the autoclave, elastic melts in the high temps. There was a link to the masks on Bevs Country Cottage on Facebook.
How nice of Uriah to think of you!
Isn't it the truth people need to stay put!

  8. I love the card your grandson sent! I have a nice collection of cards my grandsons have sent to me over the years. I just ran across one the other day in which my youngest had traced around leaves he had gathered somewhere. It is one of my favorites. I did the grocery pickup today for the first time. I loved it! Sitting at the computer makes me nod off faster than anything else. I can't stay here long zzzzzzzzzzzzz

  9. My grands did the same with the leaves and I've kept them too. Technology has really helped with this pandemic! Glad I'm not the only one who dozes off....I don't like it but there's not much I can do except maybe take a little "power nap". I have too much to do to be napping on purpose or accidentally! LOL!

  10. What a scream those last two tidbits are! Hahaha! There was an article Monday this week on a local news website about the CDC approving homemade mask use as a last resort if no proven protective gear could be found. It said even a tiny bit of protection is better than none, but only specific industry-made materials would protect you from the virus and then had to made in a specific way. I've had churros in the past and they are deeeeeeeelicious! yum!

  11. I'm all about the drive-up - now more than ever. While I think it's a good idea to wipe things down with a sanitizer wipe, I figure it's better than being inside breathing the same air as even half a dozen other people picking up their prescriptions.

  12. I was a HIV-AIDS patient and I got it from cheating on my wife. It was sort of a payback but a week later I was told by a friend that the person who I cheated with had the HIV-AIDS virus and did not tell me. I was so stupid by not using a condom I thought since he was an old school friend he was trustworthy. But I was wrong. I cried and cried. Two days later, I got a phone call from my friend and he told me about a person who is known by another friend, who can help me. I could not let my wife know what I was going through. I finally got his email address: oseremenspelltemple@gmail.com and I emailed this man my story and he replied me immediately saying i should be calm and told me that everything will be OK. I could not come to terms with what I was hearing but then I concluded it did not matter because I was so broken I just needed help. I was going out of my mind literally. I was confused with what he was telling me, but I listened. He told me about some materials i need to buy that he needed to cast the spell and I said OK. I bought the materials to him, I sent down my picture to him and my positive result sheet and he replied me that i am going to be negative under 3days. I message Him every 2hours for 2day and I knew he thought that I was crazy but I did care I needed a shoulder. Behold, the third day he messaged me i should go for a test that i will be negative. My marriage could be broken because of a stupid mistake and my life was on the line. I remembered when I was going to get the results of my re-test I called him up again and told him that I was going to get my results today and his reply was “so" and that everything will be as he explained. I knew then that he was getting tired of me calling him, maybe I was wrong. Well I got my results and the first person I called was him - again. As he said hello I started to cry and cry. I could not believe it. I was given a second chance in life. This man is a great spiritual HIV/AIDS healer, his healing spell on aids healing is very powerful .please brothers and sister, contact Dr Ose oseremenspelltemple@gmail.com
