NaBloPoMo Day #16

 It was/is a beautiful day today!  I told myself I was going to be outside today and I was.  I had papers to burn.............

 and some vitamin d to get along with some sock knitting.......I had some hot apple cider and it was a perfect fall day with temps in the 50's............my kind of weather!

 At 3:00....which is NOW......the Iowa Hawkeyes are playing the Minnesota Golden Gophers!  Watch out Connie! LOL!  So, I'm making a taco dip that Pioneer Woman At Heart made last week and raved about (she's on my sidebar)  I even made my own refried black beans...that's a first!  Easy peasy!

 Now I just have to mix it up and pop in the oven for game day!

NaBloPoMo Day #15

Well, I watched the impeachment hearing again so little housework got done but lots of handwork!
I worked on Sew She Did cross stitch............pay no attention to that yellow streaking...I have no idea?

and I'm up to Row #9 of 14 on the Granny Scrap Box quilt...........

and I sewed a bunch more rag strips together which I will crochet into my rag rug.............

I also picked up a prescription and discovered that my pharmacist, Jennifer, is expecting in January!  I get to make a baby blanket!!!  So excited for her and her family!   I paid a few bills and that was my day!  I hope you got more done than I did! LOL!

NaBloPoMo Day #14

I finished the 4th Cosmos square....just need to weave in the ends..........

Most of today was spent doing some cleaning and organizing..........refilled the water bottles......

I fixed a lamp and a shower curtain rod......I cleaned the humidifier and got it filled and put in some essential oil which not only puts humidity in the air but a good smell too!

I managed to crochet another ball of rag strips into my rag rug...........

I paid a few bills and remember how I had trouble with my email a few weeks ago?  Well, I got that fixed but now Microsoft updated my system and now I can't get into any of my Microsoft Office which is email and also Excel which I had planned to use today!  Crazy!  I'm about ready to get rid of technology but then I wouldn't be able to blog or visit my blogging friends! 

I'm getting ready for supper now and then to kick back...it was a good day!  I hope yours was too!

NaBloPoMo Day #13

Thank goodness I got the camera fixed!  What's a blog without pictures?  It was the SD card as I suspected.....needed to wipe the slate clean.  Has anyone noticed how much faster Blogger loads the pictures?  Thank you Blogger!  I finished the button eyed cat....except for the button eyes! LOL!  There's actually another border but I am done, done.....no 40 count for me!  It was no fun at all!  But the next one will be with Aida 14 or 10 count.....oh yeah!

I also worked on Monthly Monday on Monday................mostly worked on the tree on the left..............

then I finished the 2nd set of 4 solid Blaithin CAL squares and wove in all the ends.........

I also did 3 of the 4 Cosmos squares and wove in the ends...........

Plus, I  sewed another ball of rag strips together and crocheted them into my rag rug..the yellow..........

I  made some delicious chocolate chip pumpkin bread too.....great with a cup of tea in the afternoon......tea time!

Didn't do much housework today as I watched the impeachment hearings but I did get all those ends woven in! LOL!

NaBloPoMo Day #12

I'm not able to upload any pictures from my camera!  Could it be the cold? LOL!  We got snow here....not a lot but it hasn't all melted as it is too cold!  It was 17 F when I got up this morning and it never got out of the 20's all day!  I did go out and close my vents for the crawl space.  I got quite a bit done today but not as much crafting.  I have no idea what's wrong with the camera.  I'll have check it out tomorrow.  Maybe I need a new SD card?  

I did make a Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread and although I haven't tasted it yet it smells yummy!

I didn't get any sewing done but I did work on Cosmos square #2 and last night I wove in ends on about 3 squares and worked on Monthly Monday cross stitch.  I hope you had a good day and stayed warm!  It's cold everywhere from what they say.

NaBloPoMo Day #11

Happy Veteran's Day....

Yesterday was beautiful!  74 F and blue skies and beautiful trees..........

but then today..............it is 31 F with rain, sleet and snow!  Whoa Nellie!  I'm not sure if you can see it but there is sleet....what a switch! 

I didn't get my roast totally cooked yesterday just prepped the sauce and braised it but then it had to go in the oven for 3 1/2 to 4 hours so I waited until this morning.  It made a ton of good gravy too..........

then I peeled potatoes for mashed

potatoes with the above gravy and some corn...........all set to go a little bit later....

I cleaned litter boxes today and did some laundry.  I took a bath this morning and baked some more muffins.  I made Cosmos square #2.  the colors are really off because it is so dark outside.........

I also sewed row #5 of 14 for my Granny Scrap quilt.............

This is the pattern and book I am using for it...........

I managed to sew another ball of scrap fabrics together for the crochet rag rug....I've been wanting to work on this some more because I really enjoy it and I need rugs!

It's also Monthly Monday so I have quite a bit to do tonight.  I hope you are dry and warm wherever you are and enjoying this "remembrance"day as they used to call it.

YOP Week #19

I did a variety of things this week and I apologize to those who visit me during the week....some of this may be repetitious.  I went off the rails this week as I just had the urge to quilt and sew I did! LOL!
I had ordered a quilt kit and some scrap materials...........

but I didn't work on it....I had another quilt that I had been collecting and cutting fabrics for....a Granny Scrap Quilt so I got 4 of 14 rows sewn together for it...............none of these are big quilts...mostly doll size or for table mats and/or runners.......

I did get 4 more solid Blaithin squares done and 1 Cosmos square done..............they need ends woven in..............

I worked on Stars and Stripes Saturday yesterday while watching the Iowa Hawkeyes lose to the Wisconsin Badgers 24-22...........but it was a good game to watch............those red and white designs may be stars but all I could see was snowflakes!

Today is Santa Sunday so I'm back working on my Prairie Schooler 2004 Santa....

I kitted up Christmas Chicken Joy a free pattern from Priscilla and Chelsea but didn't have even one of the colors they suggested so I will be placing an order with FQS next week.  I need needles too.  I did cut and zigzag the edges of the fabric so that's done at least.  I need to find that place where they sell all those trims that I need for finishing my cross stitch projects.  I have several done but need ribbon or trim for them.
That's all for this week my friends.  It's beautiful here....yesterday and today....sunny and 74....perfect!
