Yesterday was beautiful! 74 F and blue skies and beautiful trees..........
but then today..............it is 31 F with rain, sleet and snow! Whoa Nellie! I'm not sure if you can see it but there is sleet....what a switch!
I didn't get my roast totally cooked yesterday just prepped the sauce and braised it but then it had to go in the oven for 3 1/2 to 4 hours so I waited until this morning. It made a ton of good gravy too..........
then I peeled potatoes for mashed
I cleaned litter boxes today and did some laundry. I took a bath this morning and baked some more muffins. I made Cosmos square #2. the colors are really off because it is so dark outside.........
I also sewed row #5 of 14 for my Granny Scrap quilt.............
This is the pattern and book I am using for it...........
I managed to sew another ball of scrap fabrics together for the crochet rag rug....I've been wanting to work on this some more because I really enjoy it and I need rugs!
It's also Monthly Monday so I have quite a bit to do tonight. I hope you are dry and warm wherever you are and enjoying this "remembrance"day as they used to call it.
Happy Trails!!!
We are experiencing the same here! Icy sleet right now and snow on the way. My teacher daughter and daughter in law are wondering about possible snow closings. You are so productive. I can't wait to see your quilt. I have a roast in my crock pot and my mouth is watering. Stay Warm!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is quite the cozy day if you don't have to go out in it! Great day for a roast!
DeleteThe photo if the autumn tree is gorgeous. I am shivering thinking of your temps and the sleet.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't even closed the vents in the crawl space for winter yet and my bedroom is over that part. Usually I like that it is cooler than the rest of the house...good for sleeping but last night with high winds and the vents open I thought I was sleeping outside! LOL!
DeleteYou have some nice projects going on. I like that you do a block or strip or something each day. That's the way I have to work to ever complete anything.
ReplyDeleteI do everything that way as I can't seem to stand still and do anything for very long. Especially not moving like ironing, washing dishes and cutting out fabric. I then take a break and sit down and crochet or do some handwork...only for about 15 minutes and then I'm back at it whatever it is....housework, yard work etc. As I age I have learned to still do the work....it just takes me longer! LOL!
DeleteWe had below zero wind chills today...miserable. Time for my Parka. Enjoy your snow/sleet...at least yours will melt! Your quilt blocks are coming along! Fun projects...I need to print out that new square that was introduced today!
ReplyDeleteWell, it hasn't melted yet! It was 17 this morning and it's still only 22....it may get above freezing but just barely! The wind was fierce last night and I was afraid of losing power as many did but I was okay.
DeleteA couple of inches of snow here this afternoon and evening in central Indiana. Tomorrow it turns bitter and then will start to warm back up to something more seasonal. I'm glad - as I'm not ready for winter! You're really moving right along with all those pieced together strips. Glad to see the book the pattern is from. That looks like a really sweet quilt.
ReplyDeleteStay warm....a few more days and things should level off a bit. It was quite a shocker though...I was not expecting that at all!
DeleteYour fall photos are so pretty Sam. I love the colors of autumn, but not the season that follows. :-)
ReplyDeleteMy mouth is watering at the thought of your roast. The gravy really looks yummy too. I haven't made a roast in a long while and it sure sounds good.
We've had a beautiful week of weather here, but it's changing today with snow predicted later in the week.
Have fun with your beautiful crafts and stay warm my friend.
Blessings,
Betsy
I'm going to post the recipe soon as it is such a great one! You'll love it, I guarantee!
DeleteCorn, gravy and mashed potatoes, OMG!!!!! :)
