I'm glad I made my dinner early because right about dinnertime there was a tornado watch and then a tornado warning. I go to the basement for a warning! It lightening and thundered and there was quarter size hail. I thought the windows were going to break but they didn't and we never even lost power which was amazing. I had a nice dinner, watched some t.v. and read and I slept like a baby!
Today I washed and hung a load outside but then they showed rain coming so I brought it all in and dried it in the dryer. They said it was sunny but it was solid green on the radar but the sun never came out and it never rained! They are so bad!
I ordered stamps online since I didn't want to go to the post office....all those mail handlers! LOL!
The Bradford pear looks like a blizzard. I'll call it my spring blizzard tree. On my walk,
I spotted several trees blooming in the woods and some violets or something similar. I'll take my camera tomorrow and get some pictures.
I paid some bills, made some phone calls and planted some radishes..............
I haven't finished the borders on my Prim Village xs but I had to get another color going.....I was getting bored with the border...........

I'm hoping to get back to the craft room after I post this...........yesterday I cleaned the microwave and most of the frig but there's a little more to do. I dropped $25 off my electric bill by canceling the t.v. portion and my electric bill was down by $10 so far with hanging my clothes outside and also wearing my "head lamp" but it was only a partial month so maybe it will be even lower next time?

The Bradford pear is beautiful. Do the blossoms drop off and make the ground look like it snowed? My mom made dandelion wine one year. While eating dinner one evening we started hear a funny noise from the basement. The bottles were blowing their corks. It was a mess but very funny too.

DeleteScary tornado warnings. That's one nice thing about Washington, tornadoes are very, very, rare. I remember spending lots of nights in our tornado shelter when growing up and before we moved 25 years ago. We still have crazy weather though. Yesterday was sunshine and flip-flops. It's snowing right now. :-)

I guess it's all what you're used to. Earhquakes would frighten me although we have mild ones here sometimes and even up north but not many and not severe. Spring is crazy! It was 78 here the other day and then it dropped to 45 after the storm. I also talked to my propane people and got them to realize...finally, that they were charging me too much.

ReplyDeleteFunny Cartoon! Glad you survived the Tornado Warning...since we still have snow that is a few months away yet for us. June seems to be tornado weather up here. That Pear Tree is a beauty! Just like snow when the blossoms fall! You can plant flowers soon! Yes Far Guy drank some Dandlion Wine in the spring of 1970. He was sicker than a dog...he has a throwing up reaction to anything home brewed. I know it is weird...but such is life! Hope you have a fun crafty weekend!

DeleteYes, we pay attention to those warnings, too! We had some wind and small hail. I had to detour around a tree that had blown down across our walking trail. I am disinfecting things here. The house smells like Mr. Clean.
ReplyDeleteGood for you....disinfecting! This house needs it with all this darn carpeting! I totally dislike carpeting. I cannot wrap my head around people wanting to put fabric on the floor? It's just wrong! LOL! There is nothing like a clean smell! I never Spring clean as I am on my way to being outdoors but Fall when I am coming in for the winter....that's when I Spring clean...crazy, I know. Actually, it wouldn't hurt me to do it spring and fall!

DeleteWe had a very windy night last night too, no tornadoes for us, thank goodness. We went through a couple of those when we lived down south and it was not fun. Our snow is almost gone but I know we always have at least one last big storm in March!
