Considering what happened on that day in the Christian faith....I would not call it good. My father died on Good Friday and I came back to this house which was my parents at the time. My mother had already passed the year before. I did some laundry and went to hang it on the clothesline outside. It was a beautiful spring day and the sky was blue and the sun was shining. They had a little cherry tree in the back yard that was blooming. As I walked past it....it snapped in 2! I kid you not! I turned around and it was bent in half......almost completely severed. I took it as a sign.....I've had lots of them in my life.
Anyway, it was a beautiful day this Good Friday also. I hung a load of laundry outside, took my walk. I did a little cross-stitch. Prepped for my tilapia dinner tonight and did a little cleaning.....very little! LOL!
I did find my Easter eggs and some other items I think my daughter gave me years back.......I just tried to download my photos and no go!!! See, I told it wasn't good friday!
Anyway.....here' s your "tidbits" for today............
This doesn't mean you won't struggle or have hard times or get sick, or suffer and one day die. But I do believe that you will never be alone in the struggle. Happy Easter!

We had another beautiful day today but the weather is supposed to change tomorrow for a few days. Then, it's supposed to warm back to the 60's next week again. Today was 70! Tomorrow is supposed to be 45. That's spring.
ReplyDeleteI really like that quote by Jeffrey Holland. I believe it's true. I think a lot of the reason we celebrate it as "Good" Friday is because it's the Jesus went to the cross for us. If he hadn't died that day for us we would have no hope. It paid that ultimate price for us on that day. It was good for us, not for Him. At least that's my take on it and I'm no theologian. :-)

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you that I set my alarm for midnight, 2 am and 4 am trying to get a Walmart pickup time. At 4 am I had success! I have a pickup time on Monday morning. Not in time for ham for Easter, but that's okay. We have food to eat. I can't believe I set my alarm for 3 times in the middle of the night to get groceries.

I love your explanation o f"Good Friday"...that makes sense and yes, good for us but not for him. So glad you got a pickup time! Yes, things have really changed in the last month. Life as we know it may never be the same. I'm sure this isn't our last pandemic. It may be like climate change....less and less time between disasters and more severe each time. It's cleaning up the pollution though and the environment and the animals are coming back....there were even dolphins swimming in the Venice canals which have cleared up with no boats (fuel) in it...the water is actually blue!
