YOP Week #41

I have had this reproduction of the Pieta by Michelangelo for close to 50 years.  The first time I ever saw it, it brought tears to my eyes and still does.  I was thinking of my son Jim who was born on December 15, just 10 days before Christmas.  It made me relate to Mary and her journey and the birth of Christ.  Now that my son has passed away, I could imagine the pain and sorrow that Mary went through.  How prophetic was that sculpture that I got so many years ago.  But today is a day of rejoicing!  Happy Easter!!!

I got these eggs when I lived in Iowa from a woman who made them by hand.  So beautiful and such craftmanship.
Here is my little Easter display.............it is stormy and dark today so I had to use overhead lighting.....
I finished the length of the scarf and now it's time to decrease and make the end of it..........still enjoying it so much..........I love me some garter stitch!

I worked on my Prim Village a bit now that I have the floss!

I went against my own rules and started another cross stitch but in my defense, I wanted to do something to commemorate this time in history.  It is a free pattern by Hands On Design and you can get it on her website..............I happened to have the hand-dyed (by me) fabric and it was a perfect size and already zigzagged around the border.  I chose my own colors from my DMC stash and away I went!  I have discovered I really enjoy doing lettering.  Maybe that is why some people enjoy alphabet samplers so much?
This was the inspiration photo!

Yesterday I picked up my groceries at Walmart but there was "No ham for Sam" and I was counting on it!  Oh well, I am not going hungry like some.  They have it when you order but then it is 2 days before you pick it up and by then they are out of things so it's a coin toss!  I was able to get 2 more skeins of yarn so I can finish my crocheted scarf!  I am letting it 'detox' for 24 hours as I can't really wipe it down to disinfect it.

I also went through my cross stitch supplies and organized things so I can start kitting up projects for Stitch Maynia.  I am still missing some patterns I know I have....somewhere!  Once I get my projects lined up I will be ordering supplies!  There was also a free pattern from Helen Stewart on Ravelry for her Habitation shawl which is so lovely!  It will be on my list for down the road.  I love Helen's patterns as she gives you a checklist and I so love lists and checklists! LOL!  This is knitted.
I hope you are all snugged away safe, well and cozy on this Easter Sunday!
Happy Trails!!!

    2. Hello, I am Theresa Williams After being in relationship with Anderson for years, he broke up with me, I did everything possible to bring him back but all was in vain, I wanted him back so much because of the love I have for him, I begged him with everything, I made promises but he refused. I explained my problem to my friend and she suggested that I should rather contact a spell caster that could help me cast a spell to bring him back but I am the type that never believed in spell, I had no choice than to try it, I mailed the spell caster, and he told me there was no problem that everything will be okay before three days, that my ex will return to me before three days, he cast the spell and surprisingly in the second day, it was around 4pm. My ex called me, I was so surprised, I answered the call and all he said was that he was so sorry for everything that happened that he wanted me to return to him, that he loves me so much. I was so happy and went to him that was how we started living together happily again. Since then, I have made promise that anybody I know that have a relationship problem, I would be of help to such person by referring him or her to the only real and powerful spell caster who helped me with my own problem. His email: {drogunduspellcaster@gmail.com} you can email him if you need his assistance in your relationship or any other Case.

  2. Ah the Pieta. I saw the one he did in his old age - it is not even finished - but it is there in Florence and it wasn't behind glass so you could walk all around it (to be honest I touched Joseph's elbow). Thank you for reminding me of that moment in my life.

  3. Well it was a free pattern and wonderful words to help you get through, so it seems a perfect little project to work on at this time. Take care x

  4. I love your Pieta figurine. I can imagine how meaningful that is to you after losing your son, Sam. And those crocheted Easter eggs are beautiful. Your Miss Marple Scarf looks great. And I love how the yarn changes. I didn't expect that! I love that your stitching up something to commemorate this time. I have wanted to, also, but nothing has come to mind. Maybe I'll just finish my bird. Actually, I have another bird that will go with this one, so that would be two cross stitched birds to put on my wall. It's not an obvious connection to this pandemic, but maybe I can figure out how to make the connection... :) Thanks for getting my wheels turning on that. I missed you on the ZOOM meet-up. I hope you can possibly make it in the future???

    1. Thank you, Becki. I hope you had a nice Easter. I think whatever you are working on at the time will bring back memories of what was happening at the time. I know my yellow blanket (the one in many of my pictures) was something I was working on when I took my parents to Mayo and also during their hospital stays and subsequent passing so it always reminds me of them. I wish I could do Zoom and maybe someone can tell me what I need but my pc has no camera or microphone and my tablet won't let me download Google Play to get apps. I am very confused as to why and I even reset my tablet (android) back to factory settings but no luck. I'm evidently behind the times and not sure what I need to "Zoom"! LOL! How do you do it? I may have to purchase something.

  5. The Pieta is beautiful. I too have one and it brings so many emotions when I gaze at it. The habitation shawl looks like a nice relaxing knit. I too downloaded the pattern but will wait a bit before starting it. I have never worked one of her patterns so was glad to read you endorse her patterns. Your Miss Marple is a great color and I think you will get quite a bit of wear out of it. As always, I love to see your cross stitch you do. What type of equipment do you need to connect to the Zoom meeting? I just thought you needed an internet connection and a computer. I so was hoping to get to 'meet' you this past weekend. Stay Well.

  6. Happy Easter! We did not have ham either, for the first time in about 40 years. My son and his wife dropped off dinner on our front porch. He had smoked some cornish game hens. They were delicious and my husband was grateful not to have cooked.
Your statue is very beautiful. I am sure it is a reminder of your son. Please remember the happy memories!
Today was a loss in our family. My son-in-law's grandmother passed at 97. Unfortunately she was in hospice during the past four weeks and no one could visit or be with her.

    1. So sorry to hear of your sadness on Easter and it must be terrible for families who can't be with their loved ones. The smoked hens sound delicious! How thoughtful your SIL was. Yes, I always have the Easter ham but maybe in the future. I hope you had a nice Easter, regardless.

  8. The Pieta is beautiful Sam and I'm sure that it's so much more meaningful to you with all of the events you've gone through in your life.
I saw how severe the storms have been down south, and I've been praying especially for your safety today. I hope by now they've died down for the night as they often seem to do.
That Miss Marple scarf is so pretty. I really like it and think you're doing a wonderful job with it.
We didn't have ham either. I finally got my grocery pickup time...for tomorrow, so too late for ham, but that's okay because I made your Hawaiian Chicken today and we loved it! Dennis said the recipe is a keeper and it was SO easy. I put it in the crockpot and we went to the lake and opened up the trailer. No one was there so we were able to easily keep our social distance and it got me out of the house for the first time in weeks. Who knows when we'll actually get to go out and stay although we got an email saying the resort is an essential business so they're opening as usual on May 1. How can it be essential? No one lives there. We all have homes in town. Well, if we can go there, I'll go to my trailer to isolate and enjoy a change of scenery!
I've been cross-stitching happily the past couple of days but I think I'm going to look for the Habitation Shawl. It's beautiful!
    Have a wonderful night Sam!
    Blessings,
    Betsy

    1. We did have storms in the night and the weather radio went off once but not for our area. It was nice cozy storm and nothing dangerous here but farther south they had deaths and damage...so sad. Glad the recipe was good! I just pick out things I would like to try but I give no guarantees! LOL! So happy you got out to the lake!!! Yay! I know, I love that shawl. I'm going to order some fingering weight minis to be ready down the road. Have a great week and thank you for you prayers! So far so good! LOL!

  9. Thank you for mentioning the Habitation Throw. I just went and downloaded it, it's exactly what I had been looking for to use up some balls of sock yarn. Seeing all your beautiful cross stitch makes me want to try that as well but I don't think I have enough patience left, after learning to make sourdough bread. LOL.

    1. Good for you with the sourdough. I used to make it but I wasted too much flour having to feed it all the time and 'discard' as it's only me, myself and I here! LOL! I have plenty of yeast but can't get flour. I only do 'easy' cross stitch with no full coverage and no fancy stitches. I follow The Real Housewives of Cross Stitch podcast and they only work on simple designs but they are gorgeous! I can't wait to start that shawl but I have to finish my scarf first. Stay well!

  11. I love the progress you are making! You reminded me that there is a sock make along that I wanted to join so right in the middle of reading your post, I hopped over to ravelry and joined in! Now I have to find all the right tools and yarn. I love that each day is a surprise on what we'll be doing and the yarn we will be using!

And I'm so swooning over all your cross stitches!! I love cross stitching but I'm not very good at it but I'm finding inspiration in watching along.

  12. I love your Easter display and the scaff is coming along nicely. Do you have a smart phone? I believe you can get zoom on that you just wouldn't be able to see everyone as well on it.
Hope you have a lovely week.

  13. I was a HIV-AIDS patient and I got it from cheating on my wife. It was sort of a payback but a week later I was told by a friend that the person who I cheated with had the HIV-AIDS virus and did not tell me. I was so stupid by not using a condom I thought since he was an old school friend he was trustworthy. But I was wrong. I cried and cried. Two days later, I got a phone call from my friend and he told me about a person who is known by another friend, who can help me. I could not let my wife know what I was going through. I finally got his email address: oseremenspelltemple@gmail.com and I emailed this man my story and he replied me immediately saying i should be calm and told me that everything will be OK. I could not come to terms with what I was hearing but then I concluded it did not matter because I was so broken I just needed help. I was going out of my mind literally. I was confused with what he was telling me, but I listened. He told me about some materials i need to buy that he needed to cast the spell and I said OK. I bought the materials to him, I sent down my picture to him and my positive result sheet and he replied me that i am going to be negative under 3days. I message Him every 2hours for 2day and I knew he thought that I was crazy but I did care I needed a shoulder. Behold, the third day he messaged me i should go for a test that i will be negative. My marriage could be broken because of a stupid mistake and my life was on the line. I remembered when I was going to get the results of my re-test I called him up again and told him that I was going to get my results today and his reply was “so" and that everything will be as he explained. I knew then that he was getting tired of me calling him, maybe I was wrong. Well I got my results and the first person I called was him - again. As he said hello I started to cry and cry. I could not believe it. I was given a second chance in life. This man is a great spiritual HIV/AIDS healer, his healing spell on aids healing is very powerful .please brothers and sister, contact Dr Ose oseremenspelltemple@gmail.com
