The weather person is confused!

Yesterday they predicted rain 70 %......no rain until the middle of the night.  Today a 20% chance and when I went to get the mail I got wet!  I came back in and checked the radar which had been clear when I got up.  We were covered in green and they had changed 20% to 70%.  I think I will just check the radar and look out the window from now on or get myself one of those indoor weather stations.  Anyway, it did clear off this afternoon for a bit and I was able to get my walk in.
I got to work on the hallway first thing this morning and I cleared out a bookcase, polished it and moved it into my bedroom for now.  The only thing I want in the hallway is the humidifier.  I have not returned the books to the bookcase yet as not all of them will go there.  I did find some VCR tapes and I have a VCR so I need to hook it up and ensure it works so I can play those tapes.
I stored them in one of those empty drawers in my nightstand
I also found some old journals and a Where Women Create magazine that I don't think I ever read!
I'll take a look at the journals and then they will get burned.............
Yesterday I ordered a used botanical dyeing book from Thrift Books and I have been starting to save things like avocado pits and skins.................
and onion skins...........these are yellow but I will also save red onion skins.............
I received treasures in the mail today!!!!  My Thrift Books order..............this is the first book in a crochet murder mystery series and I am looking forward to it.  It also has a recipe and a crochet pattern!
I got the 2nd book in the Cobbled Court Quilt series by Marie Bostwick.  I enjoyed the first one and it continues on.............
last but in no way least...........I got a Renee Plains craft book which is hard to come by!  She doesn't design anymore but I love everything she ever did!  So when I see something of hers I snap it up.  I will be curling up with this book tonight!
I did some other chores today too but this afternoon I took time to make some oatmeal cookies...........this is a recipe from The Farmchicks cookbook but the recipe is from Margaret.  A couple they met and they are the sweetest couple........so I made Margaret's cookies today.  They are her husband Floyd's favorite.  They are soft which I usually don't care for but these are delicious!
She uses Apple Pie Spice instead of cinnamon..........I didn't even know such a thing existed but when I went to the store there it was in the spice section!  Where have I been?  Did you all know about this?
Here are the cookies and they are good!  So next time you make your oatmeal cookies try using Apple Pie Spice and see if you like it.

I've also been bingeing on www.down---to---earth.blogspot.com  she is an author of several books that I own and her whole philosophy is living a simple and satisfying life.  She's a great writer too!
This post is already too long so I am going to sign off now.
Happy Trails!!!

  1. I did not know about Apple Pie Spice either. Sounds yummy though. Oatmeal cookies are one of my favorites. Even better if raisins or craisins are in them. You are really knocking this house cleaning out of the park.

    1. I'm glad I'm not the only one that had not heard of the Apple Pie Spice. I've heard of Pumpkin Pie Spice but that's all.
I'm slow with the cleaning but it's happening! Thank you for the encouragement!

  2. Oh, so much good info here today. I have taken notes on some of your recommendations. First, from your oh-so-thoughtful comment over at my place...Two in the Far North by Margaret E. Murie. The Marie Bostwick books sound like something I would like, so I noted those too, along with Renee Plains craft book. I am also going over to down to earth blog. I think the light has changed now, like the whole sky is bigger. Have you noticed?

    1. I love it when I get inspiration from others so I try to share too. It was pretty dark here today but by sunset it had lightened up quite a bit. I think the rest of the week is supposed to be nice and sunny!

    1. It states it is a blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. It says it is perfect for oatmeal cookies and sweet potatoes. Who knew? The cookies were delish and I did read about 1/2 of that crochet mystery!

  7. I rarely watch the weather person anymore as they seem to be wrong as much as they are right. I do check the weather app on my phone and it's much more accurate with the up to date radar.
I'm going to see if those Crochet Mysteries are at our library. They sound good. The oatmeal cookies look delicious too. We do prefer soft cookies so would most probably like them. :-)
You are so busy and industrious. Are the journals yours? Are they very personal that's why you're burning them? Otherwise your grandchildren may like them someday??? Just a thought. I would love something like that from my Mom or Grandma.
Wishing you a great Wednesday Sam. (Oh, it was sunny so I took a long walk today and thought of you. Sort of like taking a walk together.)
    Blessings,
    Betsy

    1. Yes, the journals are personal. I started them when I went through my divorce and just never stopped. It was a good place to "park" negative thoughts and not give a voice to them. It helped me get through a lot over the years and it is much softer and gentler now with more gratitude but still personal.

  8. I've just looked up how to make Apple Pie Spice because there's absolutely no chance of buying it over here! It's very easy so will give it a try later. I wonder if it would work with rhubarb? Oh, please don't burn your journals. They're a little bit of social history that you could pass on to your grandchildren? The high winds have abated a wee bit here but it's still sooooo cold!Bring on Spring, I say.

  9. I checked the label and it is cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice and it said it is good for oatmeal cookies and sweet potatoes but I bet it would be good with rhubarb! I used to have a huge patch on my little farm up north but down here in the south I can't grow it.
I hope it warms up for you soon.

  10. Sam, all weather men tell fibs. It's been a crazy wintertime for us in the NE GA mountains. Highs in the 60s and 70s with overnight lows in the 20s. Supposed to snow tomorrow. Hopefully,it will last longer than the last time. Fifteen hours, from the first snowflake (beautiful 8" worth)to melted muddy mess.

  12. I have been married to my wife for 6 years and recently she broke up with me and it hurt me deeply when she told me to leave her alone and that she doesn't love me anymore when i was always faithful and honest to her. 13. I was a HIV-AIDS patient and I got it from cheating on my wife. It was sort of a payback but a week later I was told by a friend that the person who I cheated with had the HIV-AIDS virus and did not tell me. I was so stupid by not using a condom I thought since he was an old school friend he was trustworthy. But I was wrong. I cried and cried. Two days later, I got a phone call from my friend and he told me about a person who is known by another friend, who can help me. I could not let my wife know what I was going through. I finally got his email address: oseremenspelltemple@gmail.com and I emailed this man my story and he replied me immediately saying i should be calm and told me that everything will be OK. I could not come to terms with what I was hearing but then I concluded it did not matter because I was so broken I just needed help. I was going out of my mind literally. I was confused with what he was telling me, but I listened. He told me about some materials i need to buy that he needed to cast the spell and I said OK. I bought the materials to him, I sent down my picture to him and my positive result sheet and he replied me that i am going to be negative under 3days. I message Him every 2hours for 2day and I knew he thought that I was crazy but I did care I needed a shoulder. Behold, the third day he messaged me i should go for a test that i will be negative. My marriage could be broken because of a stupid mistake and my life was on the line. I remembered when I was going to get the results of my re-test I called him up again and told him that I was going to get my results today and his reply was “so" and that everything will be as he explained. I knew then that he was getting tired of me calling him, maybe I was wrong. Well I got my results and the first person I called was him - again. As he said hello I started to cry and cry. I could not believe it. I was given a second chance in life. This man is a great spiritual HIV/AIDS healer, his healing spell on aids healing is very powerful .please brothers and sister, contact Dr Ose oseremenspelltemple@gmail.com
