It was Walmart shopping day. I made a list and a menu and off I went AFTER I scraped the ice off my car! Yes, it was 24 F this morning when I got up and it is a high of 42 today.....this is more like January! Oh well.....it's still nice but just surprising for this time of year.
I got a few extras while I was at Wally World.........sheets! I needed these and they were only $20 so I thought I would give them a try. My daughter bought me some at Walmart a few years back and I still use them although all my old sheet sets need new elastic for the fitted sheets. I've often thought I would like to make my own sheets but haven't done it yet.....it needs to go on The List....
Then I picked up more yarn......REALLY? It reminds me of the Iowa Hawkeye colors.....hmmm....I wonder what that might be? I bet it's something for someone for Christmas.............but what? Who? I'm not telling!
I have been able to make a few gifts and also pick up a few gifts this past month....that feels good to get a jump start on Christmas..........
My treasures did not come today....maybe tomorrow? But I told myself that regardless I was going to quilt/sew today so I dragged out this project that I'm not sure I have all the material for but I will go as far as I can..............
I got the groceries all put away and I'm doing some laundry and that will be about it for today. I got a pizza for tonight and a roast for tomorrow........now to relax!

Love flannel sheets. Hopefully it will get cold enough here so I can use ours too. Iowa Hawkeyes! A lot of my cousins graduated from there. No Cyclones in our family. That is a pretty quilt pattern.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to go to Iowa State but my parents wouldn't let me. Working in Iowa City for years you really couldn't avoid being a Hawkeye fan but I like the Cylcones too for old times sake.
DeleteThose plaid flannel sheets look cozy. :) We've had mid-winter temps here today, too. It was in the teens when I got out this morning and didn't warm up beyond about 35 - if that. Oddly, it didn't feel that cold to me. There was no wind, and the air was extremely dry (I had a good hair day, that's how I know there wasn't much humidity in the air. lol) I look forward to seeing what you end up making with that yarn!
ReplyDeleteIt was colder here! 24 I think when I got up and I think the high was 42 or 44? But the sun was shining so I didn't mind it at all. Except for the cold car part. LOL!

Oh I love flannel and also fleece sheets. Dennis prefers the fleece, it's like climbing into a cotton ball to go to sleep! I'm sorry your package didn't arrive again but it looks like you have a fun project to work on while waiting.

I have not tried fleece sheets but they do sound wonderfully cozy! I did get to work on my little quilt last night. I got the first row sewn together....a good feeling and a fun project. Today is supposed to be 58 and tomorrow 69! Woo Hoo! Maybe I will get to paint after all!?!
