There was another project that I spotted in my Ravelry projects. My Multnomah shawl. I had frogged it after doing the entire shawl but messing up the last part which was a "feather and fan" design. I'd never heard of it and evidently didn't understand it and messed it all up. I decided that if I wanted to do the shawl, I had better learn that "feather and fan" pattern. So, I searched on Ravelry and there was a washcloth in "feather and fan". Perfect for practicing! I got some dishcloth yarn and the called for needles and gave it a whirl. So far so good. I'll have to go look at the Multnomah pattern and see what I didn't understand as this dishcloth pattern is pretty straightforward and I'm having no problem.
I had to go to the pharmacy today to pick up some prescriptions and while I was there I bought a new blood pressure cuff. It was much less than the ones at Walmart! Like 1/2 the price! It was Our Neighbor Pharmacy brand.
I wrote a letter to a friend today who lost her daughter 10 years ago but her daughter's birthday is coming up. I included the crocheted heart I made and I hope it gives her some comfort. So, I didn't get my list done but there's tomorrow...maybe?

We had snow, too. But ours came with ice and closed or delayed schools. Monday was sixty degrees and sunny. What happened!!!! I was the go-to computer person in my office. I retired 7 years ago and now I am a dinosaur. Technology has changed so quickly.

Just saw on the news that weather got pretty wild in many states with tornadoes and flooding. Hope things are okay where you are and that a light dusting is snow is all you got. Both my boys are getting winter like weather this week with freezing rain and snow. Good idea to practice the stitch pattern on a washcloth.

DeleteI think the Feather and Fan pattern originated in the Shetland Isles. It's similar to the Old Shale (Shetland derivation of shell) pattern and was a favourite for knitting haps (shawls) for babies.

DeleteIt's snowing outside here too again tonight. I keep hoping against hope that each snowfall will be the last of the season. I would take rain any day. You don't have to shovel rain or slide around in the car.
ReplyDeleteI've made several of the Multnomah shawls. I think now that you've mastered the dishcloth, the shawl will be easy for you. My niece actually asked me to make her that shawl t wear on her wedding day!
