Not sure why that is but I just could not get my rear in gear today. I did not work on the bedroom but I did wash my hair and do 2 loads of laundry. I took a walk in between the rains. The creeks and streams are rushing and gushing! I did some online shopping and paid another bill. I ordered my Philosophy Amazing Grace that I wanted to order for my birthday. Better late than never! I love the scent as it is fresh and clean and not heavy.
I also ordered a battery storage container that has a battery tester with it. I tried using some plastic containers but this is much better as there are individual cells for each battery type and the tester all in one convenient container.
I have been wanting to update and review my YOP goals and my Ravelry project page so I spent the afternoon doing that and of course, went down a rabbit hole. I started back in YOP year 2012 -2013 and although I had quite a few finishes there were 2 projects that did not get done. One was a crocheted rug which is around someplace and once I find it I will finish it. The other was a blanket that at the time I did not have the money for the yarn and I also didn't realize you could substitute other yarns. I still won't pay $18 a skein for a blanket that calls for 34 skeins! It is a blanket I fell in love with and still really want to make. I ordered the pattern, it was a pay for pattern. I spent a lot of time converting the Spud and Chloe sweater yarn colors to Knit Picks Brava Worsted colors.
Here is the blanket. It's on Ravelry and is called the Seeing Stars Blanket. I don't know why it is so blurry but you get the drift.
I am making the lap size which is the smallest and it will still take 34 skeins of yarn; 2 each of 17 colors. Here is the chart for all the colors..........you can see the areas for the lap, twin, full and queen sizes. I may have to enlarge this page!

I know what you mean about finding something from long ago that wasn't finished. I have an afghan made from granny squares set together with black. This winter I pulled it out, put it back because I don't like setting the squares together. You amaze me with your mittens! I don't knit so this seems like a special talent to make mittens.
ReplyDeleteI taught myself to knit using You Tube and some tutorials....it was an uphill battle, believe you me! I think I started when I was 67? Not sure but you would think I would be a better knitter by now! I am constantly learning something new which is a good thing! Thank you but if I can do it anyone can! LOL! I tore out a lot of things and still do on occasion.

I snow-blowed before I went to the neurologist for my injections in my back. One load of laundry done and I'm finished for the day too. My back is really painful after the injections this time so I'm not doing much. It's still snowing but not accumulating too much this afternoon. So far about 5-6 inches or so at our house. Maybe a little more.

Ouch! I can't imagine allowing anyone to inject into my spine. I hope the pain goes away soon. I'll be lucky if I can get one pair of mittens done in a month much less 2 pair in a week! You are amazing! We had a "dusting" of snow this morning but nothing to write home about. LOL!
DeleteAnd you say you didn't get much done?! Get real, girl. It perhaps wasn't exactly what you wanted to get done, but if you look at it objectively you'll see you actually accomplished a lot. I'm not lecturing you because I'm probably just as apt to think the same way you do. I think it comes from having many interests and not enough time to do everything you want to do. I've read in several places lately (is someone trying to tell me something?) that we must slow down and enjoy the moment. I'm still struggling with exactly how to do that. For me, it's like meditation; I have trouble with that, too! ;o)

DeleteThat second mitten will be done in no time. I found using a 'crafting journal' was much easier for me to keep track of my projects. I am not a big Ravelry fan anymore so this is my answer to their website. I also have a book listing all my yarns in it. I am a HUGE fan of paper and pen. I have always preferred it over electronics. I just started using the calendar on my phone about a year ago, to keep track of appointments. Before that, I always carried one of those 2 year calendars in my purse. Love the paperclip idea for duck tape and strapping tape. Thanks for that one.

DeleteI think you accomplish so much every day. The new blanket pattern is very pretty. I know what you mean about the rabbit hole. I started packing supplies for my stained glass class tomorrow and spent the whole afternoon sorting and repacking. And looking for missing pieces. I found the paint I bought in November to do Christmas projects and had to repurchase, but still did not locate the boxes of beveled glass that I was looking for instead.

I was a HIV-AIDS patient and I got it from cheating on my wife.
