YOP Week #21

Busy but not all that crafty.....I worked some more on the Blaithin CAL.................these are all the cosmos squares with ends woven in too.........
and the last 2 of the solid squares of 4 which I evidently did not put the first 2 in the picture............next week
Cross stitch was done this week with 2 new kits "kitted up" and started..............moving along on Monthly Monday
Started a new Witchy Wednesday on some nice big xs fabric!  Yah!  That's what I'm talking about!  18 count!

and new Fall ornaments.............starting with the barn in the middle of the left hand picture..........for Fall Friday........

Then there was Stars and Stripes Saturday where I ran out of the red floss and it was a kit!  Arg!  And it's a fancy floss....
I forgot to photograph Santa Sunday as I haven't gotten it out yet today............
I worked on my sock while listening to the radio and messed up the heel flap...I know.....you say how can you mess it up it's not that hard......and you are right but evidently I can only focus on one thing at a time.....it's in timeout until I have the patience to try and deal with it................
I did order some supplies yesterday!  Christmas is taking over my regular projects now so some of them won't see daylight until after Christmas..............
The 2019 annual ornaments will be some of these............aren't they darling?  They are over at Fat Quarter Shop and for the price of one pattern I am getting 12 ornaments!  Score!  Plus, these are by Lori Holt and she has a You Tube tutorial on how to make little envelope pillows out of them so there's no hand sewing the one end closed etc.  I ordered all the floss required and some for the Fall ornies too.  I also ordered xs needles in 3 different sizes and some needle holders.  I'm excited and these are cross stitched on 10 count fabric....nice and big!
I still need to finalize "the list" for Christmas gifts but I am also planning ahead for my Holiday cast ons!
And now for your Thanksgiving tidbits for today..........

This looks tasty and pretty too.............

I think we could all use this handy gadget......where has it been for all those Thanksgivings past?
I hope you all had a good week and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates!
Happy Trails!!!

  1. You are doing well with your projects even with the approaching holidays stealing away valuable time. Do you have a favorite Cosmos square? I do, but I won't tell! :~) I put the finishing touches on my cleaning, and even folded away the sewing machine until Thursday is over. Then, I will sew dolls' dresses for the granddaughters' Christmas presents. Actually, I love this time of year!

    1. Doll's dresses? How fun is that! All cleaning done and sewing machine put away? You are a far better woman than I! LOL! I did get some cleaning done but just bits and pieces. I no longer push myself...at all and I really should! LOL! Havea wonderful Thanksgiving!

  2. Oh wow. That shelf thing is for the oven, right? What a great way to keep foods warm, I'm thinking. And yes - that vintage Christmas sampler is adorable (as a sampler or individual ornaments)! And I want to like that idea of cutting our little round pumpkin pie treats, but all that crust is going to waste. The crust is the best part of eating pie, IMO. :)

    1. Yes, but don't you see....if you use that method for pumpkin pie you would get ALL the crust to yourself!

    2. LOL! Yes! Okay... now I think the idea is genius. :)

  3. I would like that shelf thing too but I am such a kultz I am certain I would spill something in the oven!
The next square was released this evening I just printed it out...I still have two of the last one to do. Make sure you are counting your stitches! I was off on a couple of squares. I put life lines in when I knit...I hate frogging without one....I am meticulous about counting stitches with socks too...but with four needles that is easier!
Hope you have a good week Sam:)

    1. Yes, I learned early on to count the stitches for the crochet and the knitting! On the socks I knitted a row that was supposed to be purled...duh...listening to the game and not paying any attention! I tried to tink back and messed it up so I will go back and put in an "after thought" lifeline if I can and go from there else....I'll just start over....it won't be the first time! LOL! You have a great week too and a great Thanksgiving!

  5. I think that shelf rack for the oven is a great idea! I could sure use one of those this week.
I also understand messing up the heel on a sock. I have to concentrate when I do the flap and then the gusset on heels. I can watch tv but I can't carry on a conversation.
Have a great Monday Sam! Two of our kids arrive tomorrow, Alex and Mandy with Piper. I'm SO excited.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  6. You may not have felt that you did much, but as always you appear to have done loads! I love all the cross stitch, but how annoying about running out of thread in a kit. I look forward to seeing what you make for Christmas this year.

  9. mmmmm we can't guy pumpkin pie up here, one day I'll make one. I've messed up plenty of heel flaps and had to correct them, stick with it :) The xs all look wonderful, I'm excited for your new ones.
