Task mistress.....

I have my list and only wish I had the energy to get it all done but I trudge forward and today was definitely "trudging".  Yesterday, I was full of energy and I had gotten up at 1:30 am and managed to stay up until 8:15 last night before I turned the light out.  I love it when that happens which isn't often.  It's a gift from heaven!  I finished August's financials, watered outside, did 2 loads of laundry and cleaned up the house.  In the afternoon the Dish guy came and fixed my problems and laid longer cable as my t.v.'s were all on "short leashes".  After he left late afternoon, I made some cookies.
My favs....crispy, slightly burnt, peanut butter cookies.  Yes, I really do like them a little burnt!
When my daughter was here we took a trip to the thrift store.  I had some stuff to donate and I also needed some new "duds".  I got 2 pairs of jeans and a pair of khaki's and some blouses.  Nothing cost me over $4.00.  I am no longer "stylish" but I am comfortable.  I love the ones I got as they are all 3/4 sleeve which is just what I like else I end up having to roll them up.

I was so tired last night I couldn't even watch the newly fixed t.v. reception! LOL!
Today it rained here...go figure....last week we had 100% chance and not a drop...today we had 10% and it poured.  I'm grateful for it though.  I took recycling and stopped at the market for a few items and came home and ironed most of the afternoon.  I did manage to audition a few fabrics for the binding on my quilt but that was about all.  Evidently, I can still work hard but it takes me 2 days to recover from it! LOL!

Tonight is Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove on the Hallmark channel and then Dr. Blake mystery on PBS.  I hope to start joining my crochet squares too.  Enjoy your Saturday night!
Happy Trails!

    1. Yes, I did iron them that's why I didn't blog about them sooner. I had to wash and iron them. LOL! With no dryer there is more ironing I notice.

  3. That wa a looonnng day! I would have fallen asleep long before you did after getting up so early. Great finds at the thrift store. Love them all. We need rain so bad. We got just a few drops here today but more is predicted tomorrow. There were 60 mph winds today that just "blew up" all of the wildfires we're having here. Rain is needed desperately. Have a lovely Sunday.
    Blessings,

  4. No wonder you are so tired. You are always doing something. I've not had jet lag this time around because I forced myself to stay in bed til 5 a.m. even though I was waking between 3:30 and 4:00 am each day. I like getting up early as it gives me a full day to accomplish whatever. Of course, tomorrow starts the school routine for my senior boy so there won't be time for any sleeping in. Hope to get back to walking but we'll see how it feels tomorrow morning. Still getting up to 120 F each day. Ugh! Have a good Sunday. Tammy

    1. Oh my, I can't take the 90's although it is the dew point/humidity that gets me. I remember being in Colorado when it was in the 100's but it was dry and I fared much better!
Are you still working at the school? Your "baby" is a senior this year? Is he going to go to college with his brother? What are they going into? People outside the U.S. seem to take their education much more seriously than they do here. You have a great Sunday/Monday too!

  7. Oh wow did you wake up early. You are a whirlwind of activity. I haven't tried thrifting yet but I am wanting to poke around the Goodwill. Many knitters find donated cashmere sweaters and take them apart to reknit them into something else. Print shirts are always in. They'd look cute under a neutral sweater when it's cold. You can always roll up the sleeves J Crew style and wear them over rolled up jeans and flats. The cookies look good. I like a little color on my cookies. Whenever my mum makes peanut butter ones I gobble them quickstyle!
