1. No FO's this week

This is only the first 3 letters of the alphabet.........
4) I picked these up at Walmart....new cross stitch project bags...........these are the biggest I've seen...2.5 gallons!
5) I finally received the 2 patterns I won from Priscilla and Chelsea...The Real Housewives of Cross Stitch.........LOVE!!! I posted about them earlier in the week but in case you only visit on Sundays for YOP, I thought I would show them again.

Miscellaneous Trivia:
Also, if you don't read my blog during the week....I had my 14 year old Rottweiller put down on Friday so I didn't feel much like 'crafting' yesterday but I did go through an entire box of kleenix! Friday was bad, yesterday was pretty bad and today is a bit better. I think I've run out of tears and I'm probably de-hydrated. I will miss her forever.....she was a gift to me from above and I swear she was my guardian angel. I feel like those people who lose a limb yet still feel like it's there....I have to remind myself she is gone as I catch myself thinking like she is still here. Deep breaths and prayers for healing my heart...that's what I'm focusing on right now. This is my Grace girl and that picture epitomizes how I feel.....like a worn out dishrag...emotions are much more tiring than physical labor IMHO.
I am starting to put together the patterns etc. for YOP 2019/20 and making a list of the supplies needed for the various projects so I can get started right away...if the budget approves....we'll see.
Which dates are the yearly roundup and then when is the first Sunday we post about our new projects? I got confused last week. Is the roundup on week 52 or 53 and then post the projects on the first Sunday in July? Dates would be appreciated as the week thing is messing me up. Thank you!
Please stop by and see all the other fantastic projects that other YOP'ers are working on.
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend and I wish you all a happy, productive and creative week ahead!
Sam, your crafts are lovely and your list is impressive! I'm sorry for your heartache. xxx
ReplyDeleteOh Sam........How hard it is to lose one of our fur babies. I will continue to pray for your heart to heal. She will never be forgotten though. As for your YOP questions. This is week 51. Next week is 52 and will be a normal update week. Week 53 will be our wrap up week. Our first post for YOP 9 will be on July 7. You keep teasing us with all your 'secret' projects!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe blue for the sewing machine is gorgeous! Take time to grieve, dear friend.
ReplyDeleteOh no, I missed that post in the week. I'm so sorry.
ReplyDeleteThe projects are wonderful, but all can wait until you are ready.
Sending lots of hugs and Kleenex.
What lovely projects!
ReplyDeleteI really like the cute little fox, but I can understand it not being enjoyable - I crocheted a couple of fancy rats a while ago and while I loved the result I really didn't like making them. It was fiddly and frustrating and my fingers started cramping.
I am so sorry to hear of your sad news. I am sure those tears will keep coming for a time and that is all part of the healing. Your projects all looks great, and my goodness some of them seem daunting to me who can't imagine working with such fine thread. I hear you on the fiddly little fox. Knitting the pieces is bad enough - but then the putting them together - oh my. Take care of yourself in the days to come. It will get easier, but it will take time.
ReplyDeleteHugs for you hurting heart, dear friend. Now, I have to say... you and I have the same project bags! Imagine that. They really are perfect for collecting fabric, floss and pattern. I almost started another cross stitch this week. And I thought of you when the thought came into my brain and flitted right back out. Not sure what I'm dragging my feet about, but that seems to be the sum of it here. Even though tears will continue to come due to your great love for Nitty, I hope you have a good week ahead, Sam.
ReplyDeleteYour projects are all looking lovely Sam. I can only imagine how fiddly that fox is. I don't think I would be making another either.
ReplyDeleteI have thought of you very often since I read your last post, when I sobbed as I read it. Then I took my iPad out to the yard where Dennis was cutting the grass and read it to him while I sobbed again. These babies of ours sure get into our hearts. You will never forget sweet Nitty, as none of us who love them ever do. I can tell you everything about our first dog we had when we got married. She was 14 when we lost her. Our next dog was 14 when we lost her. She was so sweet. Now my Chloe girl is 14. I told Dennis we HAVE to get through this year. I don't like the number 14 at all.
Dear Sam, my love and hugs go out to you. Grace looks like she will be good company on your lap while you stitch.
Blessings,
Betsy
Oh Sam hugs for you and the loss of your furbaby. They become such a part of the family that we forever miss them just as much as family members. Be kind to yourself and take each day as it comes.
ReplyDeleteI think if the fox is fiddly now it will remain so, having made small figures they don't get any easier just we get a little more used to them is all.
As always I'm enjoying your makes and no matter how much you've done I love checking in to see it.
From what I can see we update week 52 on 23rd June, wrap up post on week 53 the 30th June and then week 1 of YOP 9 is 7th July HTH x
I’m so sorry for your loss. How heartbreaking to have to say goodbye to such a loved member of your family. You have a lot of lovely new projects lined up and on the go. I love Grace’s pose on the chair...one cool cat and a comfort to you I’m sure.
ReplyDeleteSIA,, my heart goes out to you for the passing of your sweet Rotti... as for the X-stitching,, my eyes have gotten so bad, that I have not picked up any projects this past year :>(
ReplyDeleteHave fun in all your crafting mischief...
