A nice quiet day...........

Today was a nice quiet day here on the homestead.  They have said rain for the last 3 days but nada.  As for my packages, they are back in Memphis but this time they have put trackers on them so they can follow them like GPS and they have finally talked to Desmoines so hopefully it will be delivered.....sooner rather than later!  Last time I checked this afternoon they were on their way to Desmoines....for about the 4th time.
I did get one of my yarns in the mail today though....my handspun..........oh la la!
I need to find a DK weight sock pattern now or something for Halloween!
Since I "finished" the other gift I have 2 more to go........I started Ben's slippers again and this is how far I am on the first one......they knit up pretty quick if you know what you're doing....hopefully this time I do! LOL!
It was really warm today.....yesterday was 65 and today was 75.....it would have been hotter if the sun had been out.  I'll probably need to turn the AC on as this brick house heats up like an oven by nightfall.
Last night and yesterday was very windy and there have been lake wind warnings and when I let the girls out last night the clouds were scuttling very fast across the moon........I got a few pictures but it was much prettier in person.  I wish I had a better camera.

That 's all for today...it was my spa day and I changed the sheets and ironed too so now I am going to heat up my delicious dinner and settle in for an evening of knitting and podcasts.  I've also been trying to decide if I want an Erin Condren planner and there are all kinds of videos and helpful information on You Tube about them.....who knew?  So, I'll probably watch some of those too.
Happy Trails!

  1. That is a beautiful skein of yarn. I almost choked when I saw your temperatures. How I wish there were here. We were -7F last night and about the same for tonight. Next week it's supposed to be in the 40's and people are talking like it's swimsuit weather. Ha! Enjoy your podcasts.
    Blessings,

    1. I wish I could send you some warm temps but even if I could they probably wouldn't get there! LOL! This morning it is 36 F and when it gets warm like that at this time of year we usually get rain and then it turns to ice. Luckily it rained but stopped before the temps dropped but I see there is freezing rain all over Missouri this morning. I pray everyone stays safe as it is a work day. Enjoy your coming "swimsuit weather"! LOL!

    1. At least they'll get their 2016 Collectible ornaments but I'm sure all the goodies I baked are probably stale or spoiled by now.

  3. Oh my, those gifts have more miles on them than my tires lol. The slipper looks like you got it right this time too! Our temps are in the low 70s too. That new yarn is so yummy looking. Can't wait to see what you do with it. I love the Erin Condren planners but..........they were way out of my price range. If you have a Hobby Lobby near check out the "Create 365 Happy Planner". Or go online for them. I got an 18 month planner for less than half the price of her 1 year planner. They also sell lots of stickers and washi tape too. I love mine and use it daily for bullet olanning. Have I told you how much I enjoy reading your blog? You are always so informative about daily life. Makes me smile too.

    1. I enjoy your comments because you always answer my questions! Thanks for the tip about the 365 planner as EC is way too pricey for me too! And I enjoy your blog because I love blogs that are real and talk about real life. Some blogs I wonder if they ever cook or clean or go grocery shopping. LOL! I just enjoy daily life....it's all fun to me!

  4. That skein of yarn definitely represents fall. Glad USPS got your packages' journey straightened out and are now on top of them. Have a good evening.
