The Olympics start tonight!!!!!! I'm SO excited!!!!!

The beautiful sky after the storm last evening.

In honor of the Olympics starting tonight in London I made an English Lemon Cake...one of my very favorite desserts!
I hope you are planning on watching the Olympics....the one contest that brings together everyone from all different races and cultures in one place in an environment of peace.  If only it would spread everywhere and last forever!  Have a great Friday night!

    The opening ceremonies started at 11 pm our time and ended at 2:45 am. Yikes! I haven't been up that late in a very, very, very long time. :) I love anything with lemon. That cake sounds divine. Best wishes, Tammy

    We watched the opening ceremonies. We made some homemade chicken strips and onion rings and sat on the couch and watched. What a nice job they did. We watched a little swimming earlier. Jim has the dvr set to record some soccer today to watch when he gets home tonight. I am leaving it off until I get a few things done! That lemon cakes sounds delish. Is it the same one you made a while back that inspired the lemon dessert we made for Easter?
