Industrious Friday!

I was busy today and got a lot done which feels good!  I wrapped the presents for the new baby, made out the card and another one and mailed one and dropped off the present at the pharmacy.  I took a pamphlet on grief to one of the pharmacy techs as she lost her brother last year and her mother is having a hard time with it still.   I stopped by the bank and cashed a check then I went to the grocery store and got the ingredients for Cowboy Queso except instead of the beer I am using beef broth.
I cleaned the tub, entered Priscilla and Chelseas's drawing for tomorrow (The Real Housewives of Cross Stitch on You Tube), folded and put away a load of clothes and paid a bill.  Then I took my walk and came back and got to work on the bedroom.........
more dusting of baseboards and vacuuming............
then I polished the dresser.............
here is one of those little drawers I forgot to show you last night..........the one on the other side looks exactly the same and it is also empty.............
That's as much as I got done today but I'm happy with it.............then I got "treasures" in the mail!
I received this lovely handmade card from Farside of Fifty (on my right sidebar) with a sweet note on the inside...............
but she also sent 2 cross stitch booklets with Christmas ornaments in them!  They are small too so I could probably get a bunch done!  Guess who will most probably be receiving one next Christmas?
These are so cute!  Thank you, Connie!  I will definitely have fun with those!
I worked on the mitten and except for the thumb, I am almost done.............
That's it for today's "industriousness"!  Here are your "tidbits".................how to care for your wooden utensils

These are so sweet...no instructions but sort of basic
I'm always looking for a good bread recipe....it's from Red Star Yeast so it must be good!  Here's the recipe

Have a good laugh on this one....I did!

Happy Trails!!!

  1. Your bedroom has received so much love this week. I love that dresser. It has so much character. You really did good and quick work on that mitten. The color is so nice. Looks like you will have fun making ornaments for Christmas this year. Those will be a quick stitch for sure. That buttercrust bread looks very yummy. Let us know how it turns out.

    1. The dresser was my mother's but she bought it as an antique. I hope I don't mess up the mitten..so far so good and the directions/tutorial is excellent. Yes,let the ornament making begin! I have no idea if or when I will make that bread....don't wait for me! LOL!

  2. Yeah! You got the package! I couldn't resist sending them to you! I love your dresser I believe those little drawers used to be called Handkerchief Drawers. At our old resort we had a dresser just like that but painted an awful pink color:)

    1. That is very interesting that they were called handkerchief drawers. I think I will go to town on those Christmas ornaments! Thank you again!

  3. I have a dresser very similar to yours. Actually I HAD that dresser (which was my grandfathers). We ordered a new bedroom set from the Amish a year or two ago and I put our mishmash of family pieces on my secret facebook page with my kids. My oldest son chose this piece. It is perfect for him because he is restoring it and is fixing the drawers that have always been very sticky. Ours has an oval mirror that fits into a stand so it can tilt. Your bedroom is looking magnificent!!!

    1. that's wonderful that your children appreciate those pieces and are wanting to take care of them and keep them in the family. I still have some more to go on the bedroom but the worst is over....cleaning the drawers!

  4. Wow!! I can't believe someone wouldn't know the difference between a dog and a coyote! Some person was very lucky not to have been attacked. And to let it rest on the bed! What's going to happen when it gets rested? lol
You're making me feel guilty with all your cleaning.

    1. It is hard to believe and it may be "fake"...who knows but it was funny! Don't feel guilty...I'm so slow that most people get this stuff done in a day...not a month! LOL!

  5. What a pretty dresser with the marble top middle! You have cleared so much stuff I imagine cleaning is a breeze. I'm getting there, but haven't quite arrived. Your pictures are inspiring, Sam.

    1. It is refreshing to clean now as the dogs took a lot of time and maintenance. Plus, it was frustrating trying to keep up with all the dog hair. Every wall needs painting and the carpet needs replacing or shampooing but this is good for now. Your pictures inspire me too! It's a 'mutual admiration society'!

  6. Oh Sam! I love that dresser. How lucky you are to have it. They don't make furniture like that anymore. I got my Mom's dresser/vanity that she had as a child. I then used it as I grew up. Then it went to Mandy. She still has it in the room I stay in when I visit. I love that. It's part of my childhood.
What a lovely package from Connie. She is so thoughtful. I love that about my bloggy friends. We really do care about each other.
I made a recipe called french onion chicken for dinner tonight. So easy and so good too. I'm going to try to post it on my blog soon. I think you would like it.
You asked about my heart issues and if I had them my whole life. I don't know. At least not diagnosed. However, I have fainted my entire life and my cardiologist thinks it probably was my heart stopping but re-starting on it's own even back then. As I got older, apparently my heart was stopping for longer periods. Hence the pacemaker. That has taken care of that issue for me, although I still have to be careful about fainting. I'm not supposed to be in extreme heat. Or stand in lines. For example, if I fly I'm supposed to board first or wait until everyone else has boarded so I'm not in a line. I usually wait until last! :-) . Now I have added tachycardia into the mix. It's always something and life is never dull.
Boy! That was a long explanation. Sorry if I bored you.
I hope you have a wonderful Saturday and get some well-deserved rest.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  8. You are always way more productive than me. I did do some rearranging in the tv room the other day. But still need to organize all the extra craft stuff that's overflowing the baskets and containers they are in. Happy February!

  10. I was a HIV-AIDS patient and I got it from cheating on my wife. It was sort of a payback but a week later I was told by a friend that the person who I cheated with had the HIV-AIDS virus and did not tell me. I was so stupid by not using a condom I thought since he was an old school friend he was trustworthy. But I was wrong. I cried and cried. Two days later, I got a phone call from my friend and he told me about a person who is known by another friend, who can help me. I could not let my wife know what I was going through. I finally got his email address: oseremenspelltemple@gmail.com and I emailed this man my story and he replied me immediately saying i should be calm and told me that everything will be OK. I could not come to terms with what I was hearing but then I concluded it did not matter because I was so broken I just needed help. I was going out of my mind literally. I was confused with what he was telling me, but I listened. He told me about some materials i need to buy that he needed to cast the spell and I said OK. I bought the materials to him, I sent down my picture to him and my positive result sheet and he replied me that i am going to be negative under 3days. I message Him every 2hours for 2day and I knew he thought that I was crazy but I did care I needed a shoulder. Behold, the third day he messaged me i should go for a test that i will be negative. My marriage could be broken because of a stupid mistake and my life was on the line. I remembered when I was going to get the results of my re-test I called him up again and told him that I was going to get my results today and his reply was “so" and that everything will be as he explained. I knew then that he was getting tired of me calling him, maybe I was wrong. Well I got my results and the first person I called was him - again. As he said hello I started to cry and cry. I could not believe it. I was given a second chance in life. This man is a great spiritual HIV/AIDS healer, his healing spell on aids healing is very powerful .please brothers and sister, contact Dr Ose oseremenspelltemple@gmail.com
