I am behind but I don't care....it will probably get worse before it gets better! LOL! I have 5 of the 8 Nature's Walk squares done and I think I have another week but maybe not...........
I did manage to stay pretty much on top of the cross stitching days except for Fall Friday.........this is Monthly Monday............
and Witchy Wednesday..............It looks like I'm almost done but I'm not.......there is a border that goes around the whole thing too.....................
Stars and Stripes Saturday got some love last evening..........I'm using my new Wonder Clips to hold the excess material out of the way and it works slick! Thank you, Kimberly at FQS! (Fat Quarter Shop)

I made a delicious Oriental Chicken Salad last night with the leftover chicken from the one I roasted the other day. I have a big enough 'bag of bones' now to make bone broth this week, probably. I also have dough for parmesan garlic bread sticks to make today.........
..and there's football! Yesterday I was able to listen to the Iowa
Hawkeye Homecoming Game in Iowa City and they beat the Purdue
Boilermakers! Go Hawks! I'm hoping to watch the Bear's on t.v. but
we'll see.....they show the southern teams here it seems. I told you I
have to move back North! LOL!

The dough did not work out at all and I ended up throwing the whole mess out! I'm sure it was the baker! LOL! But from now on it's All Recipes or King Arthur.

ReplyDeleteI have a Kitchenaide so I don't knead much with my RA....I need to save my hands for stitching! LOL! You can't go wrong with those no-knead recipes! I just leave it overnight.

Your xs projects are coming along so nicely. Do you think the Witchy Cat will be done by the 31st? I really like your nature walk squares. The colors are so peaceful and very calming to look at. Those Creepy popcorn hands are too cute. What a clever idea. I got a new bread cookbook this week. It is all sourdough recipes. I will let you know how it goes. It is written by one of my high school classmates. She is a nutritionist. It was just released this past week. Have you ever done sour dough? Am planning on getting my starter going this week. ReplyDeleteI've done sourdough several times and I love it but I can't keep up with it and I waste too much of it. I think it's great when you have a family and I did use it a lot when my kids were little. Let me know how it works for you. You can't beat the flavor!
DeleteLove your cross stitch projects, Sam. I especially love how the thread you're using on that Santa is working out. It really adds dimension. I'm no sports fan, but hubs used to enjoy watching college football. We met at Purdue, so he'd have been cheering on the Boilermakers in that game. Actually... that's not right. It actually sounds like he'd have been upset and giving himself a blood pressure spike. Hence why he doesn't watch college football anymore. lol

DeleteI love those hands! I did something similar a few years back and filled them with little chocolate bars!! And Parmesan garlic bread sticks sound amazing to me! ReplyDeleteThe garlic bread sticks were a big FAIL.....I might have had the water too hot...who knows but I had to throw them out....oh well...live and learn....King Arthur for all my baking recipes! Good for you cleaning up the garden....it's sad but a necessary job. Did you do any Fall planting? I fund an article about 9 vegetables you can grow indoors in the Winter so I am going to try.
