YOP 2018-2019
Finishes so far:
1. 4th of July xs pillow
2. Hitchhiker shawl
3. Felici Hibiscus self-striping socks
4. Felted wool loafer slippers with leather soles
5. washcloth (extra large) and back scrubber for Christmas or birthday for SIL
6. Iowa Hawkeye hat for Sam
7. Techniques learned so far this year: a) knit cast on, b) reading a knitting chart, c) lace work, d) inserting and using a lifeline
There were no 'fresh ' finishes for this week....
WIP's (works in progress) for this week:
1. Falling Leaves Scarf: I am halfway finished with the second half of the scarf and I actually used my lifeline! The first time I needed to use it I forgot what row I had inserted it so that did me no good but the second time I used it.....it worked perfectly! Let me just say that silk yarn is not for me nor is lace but to be fair it may be the silk yarn that is causing me not to like lace. It's not a difficult pattern once you get going and I rather enjoy it except for the "slippery silk"! It does make for a very soft and drapey garment though.
2. Pickle Dish: This is such a great t.v. watching, mindless project. I cut out the fabric ahead of time for each "dish" and I have #4 of 11 in progress and should finish this week. All the hexies are done and I am just sewing them together now.
3. Cubs ornament for Uriah: I have just started this one and I am actually using a 'graphghan' pattern for a crocheted blanket but it is working! As you can see not much progress on this or the next 2 new starts.........
4. Santa Sunday Cross Stitch project: Just a little start on this one and these are all free patterns so I don't feel bad about showing you...........
5. Stars and Stripes Saturday: Just a teeny bit done on this one but they are started which is usually the hardest part..........I didn't do any work on Fall Friday or Witchy Wednesday...I'm slipping! And I didn't even get my binding sewn.....for shame! LOL!
I hope you had a wonderful week and enjoyed working on your projects. Please stop by and see all the other fantastic projects that other YOP'ers are working on.
Happy Trails!!!
I love the falling leaves pattern...very pretty. And I'm cross stitching again and working on some small Fall designs. I'm anxious to get started on the holiday patters though! Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteI can crochet but not knit, always wanted to learn. The falling leaves is going to be beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe falling leaves pattern is quite lovely. Silk is hard to work with but you will be so hapoy with the end results.
ReplyDeleteYou have completed many items. Good job.
I'm torn what to work on today. I put the crochet hook down and the knitting needles. I want to be making Christmas ornaments, but we'll see what I have time for.
ReplyDeleteFalling Leaves is gorgeous, well worth the time and lifeline. Love your stitching.
ReplyDeleteHi Sam, Looks like you have started some new projects! I do like the pattern of your scarf:)
ReplyDeleteYou really inspire me with all your projects!
ReplyDeleteYou put me to shame with everything you’ve done. I’m loving your falling leaves scarf. It’s so pretty. Glad the lifeline work for you! Blessings, Betsy
ReplyDeleteI like your FAll banner! I mentioned you on my blog today....I'm showing off my cross stitch! The same ones I've been working on for awhile! heehee! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWoah! I'm really enjoying the template/theme of this website. It's simple, yet effective. A lot of times it's hard to get that "perfect balance" between superb usability and appearance. I must say you've done a awesome job with this. In addition, the blog loads super fast for me on Internet explorer. Superb Blog!

Your Falling Leaves scarf will be lovely when it's finished, I would imagine, with silk in the yarn. All your other projects are so fun. Can't wait to see the final project(s) you'll be making with the pickle dishes. And your cross stitch projects are so cute. I imagine Uriah will love the Cubs ornament. 😊
