Well....I had some interruptions today so not much got done but I have been cleaning and organizing during the week too and I will post what I got done. These are not pretty pictures as it is cleaning and organizing my messes but it is what it is and progress has been made! I also get motivated when I see other people's posts about organizing or cleaning so I hope it does the same for some of you.
This was at the beginning of 'the project'............when I had only cleaned the top shelf............
Then it got washed and cleaned and reorganized...........this was when it was all clean and I was starting to organize it..........
there were things that got thrown out and there were things that would go in the sale..........
then I cleaned out my pantry and put the canned goods and my cleaning things on the big shelf...........
The round piece of furniture is a plant stand that is going in the sale and a few other items...........I also picked up this metal shelf unit at Walmart the other day. It is heavy duty and holds 150 pounds per shelf! It was on sale for $20 so I grabbed one. If I like it I might get a few more but for now it will help with placing items on it for the sale................
This is my real pantry right outside the kitchen door and I emptied it and washed all the shelves....I also got rid of a bunch of outdated goods................
It left me with 3 empty shelves! I am really liking this cleaning and organizing! I want so badly to paint these shelves and shelving units but now is not the time...................
It has doors too that close but no latch...............I'm sure my dad built these............
I also used my new mop and washed part of the ceiling and walls in the laundry room....I love this mop....it is flat and I got the advice and tips from Debbi at Nobody Needs to Know videos on You Tube. She is a professional house cleaner and uses natural cleaning solutions. She's been cleaning for 26 years so she knows what she's talking about! I highly recommend her videos! This made wall washing and ceiling washing so much easier than rags and buckets and dripping! You can use it dry to dust your walls too. You can learn more about this mop in her videos and see it in action.
I was going to show you my clean (but still needs to be painted) wall but my camera ran out of batteries....need to put those on the list!
I found several great pins on Pinterest regarding garage sales...one was on pricing items and the other was a time table of when to do what prior to the sale....good information but I am way behind as usual! But if I can just get rid of stuff before winter I will feel good.....anything is an improvement and I am motivated now to do even more!
I hope you had a great Labor Day and didn't labor too hard! Happy Trails!

Wow! You are making great progress. Your pantry shelves are looking so good. I'll have to check out the mop on the videos. I know your garage sale will be successful because you're so organized already.

Well, I better get a 'move-on' today as the sale is Saturday. The 'roof boys' came by yesterday....where have they been? I don't have time for them now! LOL! I called them 2 weeks ago....oh well.
DeleteLook at you go, You have done great with the cleaning and organizing so far.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marsha. i do feel like I am making headway but not sure I'll have a great sale as I am cleaning as I go too. I may have to just get stuff out there today and start pricing!
DeleteAs soon as my tomatoes are all taken care of, I'm deep cleaning my kitchen like a mad woman. It's so over due. Your work looks great.
ReplyDeleteHi Sam! When I check a book out from Open Library, I read it online, I don't download it. Have you tried to check out a book yet to see what your choices are for how you want to read it? You will probably get a choice on what format you want to read it on. There are so many out of print books that have been scanned...it's great. Hope this helps! I don't have a Kindle. I read the book online in an open tab, just like a website, on my computer or IPAD. Sweet hugs!
ReplyDeleteGreat organizing and cleaning! I am inspired! Our bedroom needs it badly, but I still haven't found it in me to start! Alex and I need to get on it soon because we are both waking up super congested each morning...probably due to dust. We have to take the a/c out too, but we're still hoping for a heat wave in September!!
ReplyDeleteIt does feel good to organize and get rid of things. I do find your post inspiring. I need to empty out my pantry and completely reorganize.
ReplyDeleteWow, you got quite a bit done! I admire your determination and will power to getting this done. I like that mop. Recently I've been cleaning the walls using a Swiffer with the little pads, but this might work better and be less expensive since I can rinse it out and not have to keep buying the pads that are not reusable and are wasteful. Thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteWow what a difference! Don't you just love the feeling of accomplishing a big cleaning and organizing job? And I always tell myself I'll make sure it stays that way ...HA HA! Thanks for the video recommendations. I can always use a little advice in the cleaning department.
ReplyDeleteI am sidelined for a bit but I need to clean my garage:) Hopefully before it snows:) I am making your Acorn Squash and sausage again this week...it was so good:)

ReplyDeleteAt the point when the rug is vacuumed, the flotsam and jetsam ought to be expelled alongside the cleanser. The burdens to cleaning are that incredibly careful vacuuming is required when treatment, air quality can be diminished, and white powder can frequently show up later on.
