Food fest..........

Well, not really but I have been making some tasty items these past 2 weeks........first was fruit pizza...........yum!
then macaroni salad..............yesterday...Pioneer Woman's recipe.....very good but a little time consuming...........

I also made fried cabbage and bacon but no picture..............and then today I made Mexican Wedding Cake cookies but with a different slant........whole wheat flower and pumpkin puree and spices.......
a healthier version actually...........from Tammy over at T's Daily Treasures (she's on my sidebar) very tasty!
The lawn man came today and did a beautiful job!  His 9 year old daughter was with him so I invited her in and she is an artist!  She drew me all kinds of lovely pictures for my fridge and I sent some washi tape home with her as she really got into that! LOL!
She also made me some handmade 'spinners' ..................aren't they pretty?  They really spin too!
I went to the store for pecans and to the bank and then this afternoon the mower repair man came and it was the battery.....it was from 2009.....I am so lucky it lasted that long! LOL!  He'll be back in a few days to replace it but I told him no rush since I just had the lawn mowed.  I watered tonight and picked a few tomatoes and earlier I  was able to finish the toe on my 'toe up' socks.....it took me 3 tries but I finally understand German Short Rows.  Very Pink's pattern and tutorial anyway.  I have a whole sock left though so we'll see how many times I have to start over before I get a complete pair! LOL!
Happy Trails!!!

  1. Love me some fruit pizza...yum. Macaroni salad sounds super yummy too and I have gluten free macaroni! Thx for the idea. Your toe of your sock looks very professional. How sweet that you invited the little girl in while her daddy worked. Must feel great to have the yard done too.

    1. I'll have to check for the gluten free macaroni...thanks! Yes, it does feel great to get the lawn mowed and he weed-whacked and sprayed the poison ivy....he did a great job! I hung out a load of clothes after he finished.

    1. Hi Trema....I crochet too and I am better at that than knitting but I learned to knit as it was something I wanted to try. I used some Very Pink tutorials and You Tube and try to learn new techniques along the way. I still love to crochet though too!

  4. How sweet to have a young visitor and I can imagine just how thrilled she was with the washi tape. Glad you got your mower mystery solved, but also glad that you don't have to do the mowing right now. Fruit pizza sounds like a nice cool meal and that make macaroni salad looks delicious. I making some tomorrow too,but not with the Pioneer woman's recipe. It's just the same old recipe I've always used.
Your toe on the sock looks wonderful. I've never done toe up socks. I've started them a few times, but I just much prefer cuff down. I guess it's all in what you get used to. Have a lovely day my friend.
    Blessings, Betsy

    1. It seemed to take a long time to do that type of toe and quite involved but people say they love that method so I thought I would try it. I want to get to the point where I can do 2 at a time on one circular needle but we shall see! LOL!
I may try a simpler macaroni salad next time...sometimes the simplest recipes are the best. I never really had a standard recipe for it. Hugs ~ Sam
