YOP Week #49 again

I evidently can't count so I think last week was week 48 and this week is week 49 but I could still be wrong!  It's been a long tiring week and my RA is NOT liking the ac right when I need all the strength and flexibility I can muster for all my BIG outdoor and indoor projects.  I will muddle through with some Tylenol!
I finally finished all the pieces of Grayson's giraffe......ears, ear linings, horns, tail and 11 spots.  I still have pompoms to do and it needs to be sewn together and some face embroidery so hopefully that will get done this week.

This is what it should look like when it's done....at least I hope so!
And then it will be time to focus on Uriah's giraffe.
I did work on my Christmas Eve socks a bit....I'm almost done with the heel flap.  I usually don't like to stop in the middle of it but for some reason I had to but I have been keeping track of where I am so not a problem.
That's all I have for this week.  I have been watching Maker's Haven podcast as I love all her projects and her yarns she dyes and she is truly a creative spirit!  I also went down the Christmas ornament hole this morning and got truly lost! LOL!  Along with 12 pairs of socks I'm also wanting 12 ornaments.  So far, I have 1 pair of socks! LOL!  Oh well, maybe Santa will get me a class in Portuguese knitting which is supposed to be the fastest!  Stefanie is knitting that way and it does seem to be fast but then I thought she was fast before too! LOL!  We shall see......I hope you had a great weekend.....I am tired and it is raining again but sun tomorrow and then the pressure is on me to get my new weed whacker going.  No excuses now!
Happy Trails!

  1. Love that giraffe...I know your will be great! I'll have to try that podcast out. Some of the ones I like are so long I don't have time to watch them anymore. I like the 20 minutes to half hour podcasts. I hope your RA pain eases soon.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

    1. Thank you, Betsy, you are so sweet to me! I hope you like her podcast...it's never long enough for me! But then I only watch in the evening since I don't care for regular t.v. I think the RA will be okay...I pray!

  2. I enjoy seeing all the pieces of your giraffe laid out ready to be put together. What a lot of work that appears to be, but how cute it's going to be when finished. I look forward to checking out Maker's Haven. I love all your podcast recommends, Sandra. I'm sorry RA gives you trouble. I hope you're able to manage it so you can do what you truly want (or need) to do.

    1. Me too! I have too many WIPs and house projects to get waylaid by a stupid disease! LOL! But it motivates me because I think I had better get my act together cuz what if I couldn't do these things? I need to get my ducks in a row! And my girrafes too! LOL!

  3. Often I can't even keep up with which day of the week it is. Good luck with the giraffe. I'm a lazy crafter so don't like making things with lots of pieces and parts.

    1. Thank you, Lucy and I am feeling better today...not as stiff so hopefully it will stay away! I've been really fortunate for the last year and 1/2. No meds or anything so I pray it stays that way!

  8. The giraffe looks very cute but I don't envy the finishing. I suppose that's another reason why I like socks - just a couple ends to weave in.

Cute Christmas sock. I so enjoy knitting self-striping yarn.

Although 12 pairs of socks and 12 ornaments in one year sounds very do-able .... except that through the year there are a bunch more projects that will find their way into your queue. Ah well, it's not a race!

Hope your RA is feeling better and the sun comes out :)
