I made these today and not only are they healthy but they are darn good too! They are a no-bake energy snack made with chocolate chips, toasted coconut, flax seed, peanut butter, vanilla, honey and chia seeds which are optional and I did not have but I think I've seen them at Walmart. I decided to try and eat healthier than I try to do already but I do love a little sweet at the end of the day. Not sure I need energy at the end of the day but that's okay. They are good in the frig for about a week and it makes 24 or there about. A good after school snack too if they're not allergic to nuts!
I had pinned this awhile ago on Pinterest............here's the recipe............
I also bought some fruit today and a melon and I plan on cutting it up and putting it into a 'snack drawer' ready to go like this...............I have blueberries, cantaloupe, sugar snap peas and apples. I need to get some string cheese too. Also, boil and peel some eggs...great idea huh? They say if you have healthy snacks ready to eat without having to peel, cut or slice then you are more likely to make the healthier choice.
I hope you had a wonderful, healthy day!
Happy Trails!

Great ideas! I've been trying to keep more fruits in the house also. So far so good. Since the middle of the first week of January I've lost 8.8 pounds. Only about 40 more to go! Ha ha!

Wow! Good for you! I'm not trying to lose weight but that's not saying I couldn't stand to! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThose bites look yummy. Might have to give them a go. The Weight Watchers leaders always remind us to have healthy food orepped and ready to go in our mouths so we don't grab the oreos lol
ReplyDeleteActually they turned out to be a bit sweet for me. I might leave the chocolate chips out next time. I'm not a big chocolate or sweet person....mostly cookies or pies. I usually try a recipe the first time as it is written and then tweak it for my own tastes.
DeleteHaving healthy snacks at the ready is great! I bought some similar chocolate squares Bare Naked Granola Bites chocolate and oats and good for you stuff! :)
ReplyDeleteNow you're talkin'! I actually prefer the fruit and maybe some triscuits. I lvoe blueberries and those red seedless grapes too.
DeleteI have a three-tiered metal basket that I keep apples, oranges, lemons, limes, bananas and other fruit in. I love having fruit available in winter too. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteYou would need one with your family! Here, it's just me, myself, and I~
DeleteThe energy bites look so yummy! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Actually, I was not crazy about the energy bites...too sweet for me....if I make them again I would leave out the chocolate chips but that's just me...the only woman in the world who doesn't care for chocolate, or furs, or diamonds either for that matter! LOL!
DeleteThey look delicious and so healthy. Good luck with your healthy eating! X
ReplyDeleteHi Maggie! So great to hear from you! Please read above comment about energy bites. LOL!
