Changing the time is ridiculous...........

It shouldn't bother me as I am retired but the clocks change without me even doing anything and the girls don't know it's changed so they want to go out and eat at their regular time but I like to feed them when the news is on and so it goes.......but today is Tuesday and I got up at 6:00 which is really 5:00.  Oh, it's all so silly!
But today I'm back in the groove and I got all the garbage out, relined all the containers, cleaned the litter box, loaded and unloaded the dishwasher, cleaned up the kitchen and washed some things that couldn't go in the dishwasher.  I went to the store and got some cat food and then went to the library.
I haven't been for a long time as I've been trying to read my own books but I was reading The Storyteller by Jodi Piccoult and I had it on my tablet and the battery ran low and I couldn't read it until I recharged it and I was right near the end!  Ahhhhhhhhhh!  So, I decided to go see if the library had it and they did.

Of course, when you're at the library you have to see what else they might have........
this one is supposed to be a good one....maybe better than Gone Girl which I have not read.
This is a cd version of the classic which I will listen to while doing handwork....
I've read most of Adriana Trigiani's books and was especially fond of her first 3 novels.

I came home from the library, lit a candle, made a cup of tea and sat down to finish The Storyteller which I did...review next Monday.
Part of my yarn order arrived too.....but where's the rest?
The package did not look too good either...it had ripped and someone taped it up and all the yarn was okay but the yarn was not wrapped in plastic inside the bag so some of it was peeking through.  Maybe free shipping isn't all it's cracked up to be.  There was less than half of my order in this package.  I hope the rest arrives soon.
But look at what I did receive..........
2 different views of the same skeins.....but wait!  There's more!  Whenever it arrives...lol!
Did anyone watch the finale of The Bachelor last night?  I didn't watch it until last night as I was curious since they said he was from Iowa (my last home for 22 years) and then I discovered he's from a town outside Dubuque...well......quite a ways outside of Dubuque.......but they stayed in Dubuque before the final rose ceremony.  That is my old haunting grounds!
My cousin was a livestock buyer for Dubuque Pack and I have an old lard container from there.  So, I watched the show and I think he picked the right one just from what I could see but it did seem like he was in love with the other one.....did any of you watch it?  I wouldn't want to be 2nd choice....I really thought he wouldn't pick either of them and then pursue it more after the show was over.   But farm work starts soon so maybe he wanted to "get 'er done".  What do you think?

I hope Spring is showing in a neighborhood near you!  Happy Trails!

  1. The yarn is very beautiful....and so full of possibilities! I'm reading a book from a book sale and enjoying it, The Touch. It's a long novel and just what I need right now. Hope you have a good week my friend. The time change has thrown me off for sure! Hugs, Diane

    1. I'll have to write your book down. I did write the last one down..."Mr. Ove"? Anyway, I'm finally getting some reading done.

  2. The time change has thrown me for a loop, that's for sure. Between coming home from the east coast with the 3 hour difference and then the time change, my body doesn't know what's what! That yarn looks scrumptious. How lucky are you to have even more of it on it's way. :-)
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  3. It always takes me a few weeks to get used to the time change. I seem to do better in the Spring, than the Fall....I suppose having longer days, and more sunshine helps :)
Yay... glad you got {some} of your order. Sure is pretty yarn!~
Nope.. not a "Bachelor" watcher here.

Yes.. I too am so happy that Spring is here :)

    Smiles :)

  4. My book reading days are slowly disappearing. I'm still trying to finish that baby blanket I'm crocheting and a hand towel. It seems to use all my free time lately. I always bring home more than I can read, ha ha!

  5. Yes I watched, I figured it would be Whitney because he took her to his farmhouse. I liked Becca too but she just wouldn't commit and I think Chris wanted someone ready to go to Iowa and have babies. My DVR did record the after the rose hour but my neighbor got iton hers so I went over and watched that hour at her house:) pretty yarn!! :)

    1. I think you're right! I think men have a biological clock too plus I'm sure "Farmer's Only" probably wasn't doing it for him. LOL!

  6. How rude about your yarn order! I hope the rest gets to you sooner and in better shape. Such pretty colors and I bet you are itching to be casting something on.
I agree about the time change--I hate it and it has really kicked my behind this time around and am really dragging my wagon at work.
I am in the middle of reading The Girl on the Train and I like it--although it was a bit slow in the beginning and is a bit scattered. I am totally hooked and intrigued now. :) Wondering what you will think of it!
    Happy Wednesday.....

    1. I am reading it and I got confused too with the sequence of the dates and different people chapters but I think I'm okay now and really curious and I like it too. I feel sorry for Rachel and her bout with alcohol.

  7. Well, leave it to me to throw a kink in the works. I don't mind the time change. I like it being light later in the day. The change itself is rough but the benefits are worth it, to me. Love the yarn. Hope the rest gets there soon. I will have to check out "The Storyteller". I like Jodi Picoult.

    1. I'm fine now but come summer I like to get up early to work outside while it's cool but I seem to struggle while in the Winter I'm up and "at 'em". I just wish they'd stop changing it period! LOL!
