YOP Week #31

The end of the week got a little crazy but here I am...fighting off a cold in my eyes and my head but it hasn't gotten me down yet just slowed me up a bit.
I finished the wash cloth and it went to it's recipient, Carol, at the bank, who was retiring.  I wrapped it up with a little bar of handmade soap.  I think she liked it.  It was knitted and she doesn't knit so I thought she might appreciate it.  I also finished another cowl.  I wove in the ends on this one.....
and then started and finished this one.........
I like these  much better than turtlenecks for keeping my neck warm and they don't "choke" me like some turtlenecks which are too tight.  I'll be making a wardrobe of these! LOL!
I'll be trying some other patterns too but this one is so easy!
This is how it looks on the ends though as it is a circle.........but it's not noticeable when you have it wrapped around your neck.
I finished this book too and it was great! Funny and entertaining and great Vermont cheese recipes in the back.  I'll be trying some of those! It was her first book but I hope it wasn't her last.
She and her family left the mid west and moved to their dream state of Vermont and bought a country store...non-fiction for sure....no one could make that stuff up! LOL!
I also got my favorite seed catalog in the mail.....Baker Seeds in Mansfield, Missouri...I'll be dreaming and then ordering............
I'm off to go curl up and knit and watch the  Superbowl........GO SEAHAWKS!
I'll catch up with everyone this week....promise! LOL!
Happy Trails!

  3. Oh I like your cowls...think yarn stash! I don't like turtlenecks either they choke me and I spend all my time pulling the fabric away from my neck...must be an old lady thing:) Have a good week! I sent you an email about a Joannes coupon did you get it? :)

  4. I hope you feel better very soon and I love the cowls. The last 20 seconds of the SuperBowl were quite depressing but I still love the Hawks. :-)

  6. I ordered that book from the library, but wish I had it today. We are snowed in, and a good book sounds just right.

  7. I hope you can beat that cold soon. The cover of that seed catalog is adorable! So impressed you can keep crafting with a head cold!

  8. That book looks good...I'll put it on my reading list. I like the idea of the cowl that you can take off when you get indoors. Sometimes the stores and people's homes are too warm for winter clothing. Even here....people can keep their houses too warm in the cooler months. Hope you feel better soon. I was reading your blog when your comments came through on mine. I love when that happens. Enjoy your day my friend! Drink some Emergen C! It's good and can help knock out a cold when you start early. Hugs!

  10. I hope you shake that cold quickly. This weather is bad enough without having to deal with that. I like the cowls. I keep seeing them everywhere but I don't make them. 1, because I don't knit (yea, I know I could crochet them) and 2. I have a short neck and a terrible double chin so I look like a turtle with anything around my neck. :)
    Hugs,
    Sharon

  11. Cowls are way more comfortable than turtlenecks! Besides, it seems like all the fashions these days have plunging necklines so a cowl or two can save you from a chest cold!

Awesome looking seed catalog. I'm dreaming of spring too, and hoping that my Japanese Maple survives the winter. Doesn't look good though :(

  12. Oooh, I like those cowls, they look cozy. The book looks interesting - I like this type of non-fiction, so may have to look out for it - and isn't the perusing of seed catalogues one off the big pleasures of winter? I love planning my vegetable and flower plots and ordering all the seeds in.
