Post Halloween Post

I hope you had a great Halloween.  It was so nice for parents and their offspring that it landed on a Friday night.  I was really surprised that I only got 2 trick or treaters though.  Last year I got so many I almost ran out of candy.  It was quite cold here though compared to normal so that might have been why.  Or the others outgrew it.  The 2 trick or treaters that showed up were a "frozen" princess as in the movie and "frozen" because of the temperature. The other was the cutest little pirate who was so proud he made it up the steps that he forgot what he was there for! LOL!  Too sweet!
Here is a part of the Halloween letters I sent my grandboys.  I'm trying not only to not "buy" things and make them instead but also to exercise my "creative" muscle which is very weak.  Most of all though, I want  to give my grandchildren things to make them feel how special they are to Grandma Sam, especially since I don't get to see them very often.
I had fun with colored markers and a few scrapbook items I had and some stickers and some just items I cut out of magazines.  They're young and 2 are just learning to read so I printed hoping that might help.
I have a little Mary Engelbreit scrapbook kit but rest assured I am NO scrapooker! LOL!
It's gone from Summer to Fall overnight it seems.  The colors.......

the weather and temperature...we had our first freeze last night and it's predicted again for tonight.
The wind came through the other day and really took anything that wasn't attached....leaves, dead branches....Mother Nature doing some Fall cleaning.  I'm sure she'll be back again.
I have that nesting urge to clean and make the house ready for the Winter months....I guess I'm not the only one, see that big nest in the tree...............
Stay warm dry and get your shots...I had my flu shot, my pneumonia shot and I voted....it was a good week!   Happy Trails!

  3. Love the letters ... it's so difficult to find ways to connect isn't it when your family is far away.

  4. I hope it was because of the weather. It's so sad in our city how no one goes old school trick or treating anymore. Only certain neighborhood are hit up which I refuse to do.
