My goals for this past week for YOP were 1) finish Halloween washcloth...done...........
2) finish cuff on sock #1......done.......on to the leg! This is West Yorkshire Spinner's sock yarn in the Goldfinch colorway......love it so far!
3) get yarns ordered for Maybelle and maybe some for the CALs too...have not done this yet......
4) finish color tipped scarf...done. This is gold and black...Iowa Hawkeye colors for one of the grands........
I also need a blocker. These squares will definitely need blocking! I saw a wooden one on Etsy? It allows you to stack a bunch of squares and you chose the finished size....I think I need that!
So, the goals for this coming week for YOP are 1) finish the other 3 squares for Blaithin CAL, 2) work on and hopefully finish leg of sock #1, 3) get yarns ordered for Maybelle and more, 4) sew and crochet more strips for rug, and 5) start nature's Walk CAL. I'm sure there's more but that's all I can handle right now!
As for around the homestead, there was laundry in my repaired "like new" dryer, the lawn got mowed, groceries were purchased, bills paid, garage steps finished painting and some cleaning. My SIL is still struggling and his foot is the issue.....he is diabetic and it is infected and they have even mentioned having to amputate. It is an awful situation....please keep those prayers coming.

Your week was filled to the brim! Your two CAL's are going to be fantastic. I have a feeling you will do well with color choices for both of them. You are the opposite of me....I love bright cheery colors in my blankets. They brighten my rooms up when I throw them on chairs and beds. My husband is more of the earth tone person so I never let him pick colors lol. I can't believe your XS mojo left. You have been going gang busters on all those samplers. Still have your SIL on the prayer list. Hopefully they can control the infection and save the foot. Diabetes is a horrible disease.

ReplyDeleteLike you, I'm enjoying more muted tones of yarn for blankets, etc. The mittens are usually brigher because the children like that, but for the house I'm finding myself drawn to more mellow colors. Not exactly earthtone, just not really bright either.
I have actually dozed off a few times in the evening in my chair recently too. Maybe it's just the change of seasons. We had cool, almost cold at home last week while here in Omaha it was really warm and humid when we arrived. Today was cooler and everyone had headaches, including Piper. The barometric pressure must have changed overnight.
I'm continuing in prayer for your SIL. Diabetes is not a fun disease to have, that's for sure. It strikes almost without warning.
Take care my friend and enjoy those naps. There is no harm in it and I think it's your bodies way of telling you it needs the additional rest.

ReplyDeleteI started that CAL I thought it said 3 or 4 of each? I have one of each done. I had never done the popcorn stitch before. I have all colors...but heavy on aqua, rose, rust and blues. My first plain square was much smaller than the other...I had to add a row...I used two not as thick yarns. There is a facebook page where you can see all the different colors people have done. I am not sure i9f you do facebook. One lady did pink, while and shades of lilac and green...it was stunning.
You must be tired to be napping ...or getting sick. I napped on and off all day today...this cold I have is rotten.
