So, today I made a scalloped corn casserole......
I know there's a lot of marshmallows there but they were going stale so I thought I would just use them up........
I'm calling them my "Jingle" socks in honor of Jingles, the Christmas cat (who is doing fine by the way but misses her Mom, I feel so bad leaving her all alone there for days on end) .......as you can see I have done very little but I did cast them on on Christmas Eve! I'm loving how they're looking so far...really traditional Christmas colors.
She knows I love lights and she got me some mini lights and mini ornaments for my mini tree!
organic hard candy.....in this darling little purse container...so cute.......
Sam and Grayson got me hot cocoa...caramel cream and French vanilla....yum! I knew the one with the bear was from Grayson as he and Grandma have a fondness for bears....
But the very best present of all was this.........
Pictures!!!! What Grandma doesn't love pictures? This is the first time they've had a family picture taken and I love it! The other pictures are from school and are more recent.Sam is looking so much older than his 9 years. They're growing up fast and like their Mother I wish they would stay little for longer!
I hope you all had a wonderful day yesterday and I hope it lasts the whole year through!
Happy Trails!
What cute Swiss Miss cans. I've never seen those. Love their school pictures. Glad you had a good Christmas. What great food you cooked for yourself. Mele Kalikimaka means Merry Christmas which is why I used Kalikimaka for Christmas; Bing Crosby sings it.
ReplyDeleteThank you, as I have tried singing along with that song for years.....I get it now...Mele means Merry and Kalikimaka is Christmas. I have an old high school friend who lives in Hawaii and has a house on Diamond Head. He had shops in all the big hotels. I think they were leather shops...anyway, his name was Ronald Fujikaki but we called him Fuji for short! LOL! He's a grandpa now too along with most of us that graduated way back then. Are you from Hawaii originally? I bet your food was even better! I can't cook so much because it's just me and I can't eat it all so I didn't make a lot of the dishes I usually would make if there were more people. But it was also not as much work! LOL! I hope you had a great Christmas...it's always better with children involved...they bring out the child in all of us.
DeleteYour dinner looks very yummy. Bob Ross turned out great and will be great all framed. Cute yarn for socks. Miss Jingles would be impressed. I'm taking care of my son's cats for 2 weeks. Pictures are so nice to have. The family photo is great. The boys are adorable.
ReplyDeleteThey're even cuter in action! LOL! They make me laugh especially the younger one as he is always clowning around. Sam is a little more serious but he is the older brother so maybe that comes with the territory. I worked on the socks a bit more last night and so glad to be working on socks again!
DeleteWhat handsome Grandboys! Looks like you had a great meal! Making your own cards is a fun activity! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are a great card maker so I know who to go to if I run into problems! LOL!
DeleteWow, you got some lovely presents. Sounds like a wonderful Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI did...my daughter knows me and she shops all year round and gets the greatest bargains. There is no shopping down here except the Dollar Junk store...I mean Dollar General. LOL!
DeleteYou'll have food to last you through the new year. Your daughter certainly sent some lovely gifts. You can have some of that yummy hot cocoa while you color. So there's another kitty in the world named Jingles. Everyone always thought it was unusual we named our Jingles that. But obviously not so unusual after all. Happy holidays!
ReplyDeleteRight on about the cocoa and coloring and those pictures have quotes and are frameable depending on how good my coloring is...lol! Actually, the cats name is Angel but I accidentally started calling her Jingles and then my neighbor corrected me but since she is gone....I figured she is Jingles to me....Jingles, the Christmas cat because I am taking care of her for Christmas and until the 5th of January. I love your Jingles too! He's the original Jingles, the Christmas cat! Happy Holidays to you and your family and enjoy those boys!
DeleteI'm a little late checking blogs, but I enjoyed seeing your "late" Christmas dinner and all of your wonderful gifts. They all see perfectly chosen from what I know of you. The cocoa looks delicious and I totally agree about the pictures. Every Grandma loves pictures. Your Christmas socks are just the perfect color. Mine are kind of a boring brown but since they are for my SIL and he picked out the yarn I guess they are okay. They were still cast-on for Christmas Eve! I finished one last night. Have a lovely day my friend.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
You put me to shame with your knitting speed! LOL! I have the cuff done and about 1 inch of the foot but truth be told I worked on house slippers today for some January birthdays. You are a whiz with those needles!
