A Toast to Tuesday and Happy Birthday to Connie!

Yes, it's Connie's birthday today (she has the blog Far Side on my blog list).  If you have a moment, stop by and wish her a Happy Birthday! All the best to you, Connie and I hope you had a great one!
I finished the spider cloth.......I enjoyed doing the 3 Halloween cloths but they are not t.v. watching projects.  Not for me anyway!
I was able to use the cord from the cloths for my cozy memory blanket which is really nice...the wooden needles and cord I was using were really too small and the wood was slowing me up.  I love my Hiya Hiya needles for this.   The square I'm working on now is really yellow but it looks like cream in this photo.
2 of the 3 books I ordered from Thrift Books came today............(still no yarn)

The third one is All Creatures Great and Small and All Things Bright and Beautiful in one volume.  These are all books I want to read before I watch the movies and/or series.
When I went to the local grocers today they had these huge pots of mums with three colors in them for $5.00 so you bet I grabbed one.  Seasonal items don't last long in this town so when you see something you had better grab it!
I decorated my kitchen table for Fall with gourds and my Honey Crisp apples and  a few oranges.  The table runner is a tea towel that belonged to my Mother that she got from a neighbor who was from Wales.  There are Welsh recipes on it.  More recipes to try!  Speaking of recipes...my Breakfast Casserole from the Mama Dip's cookbook is in the oven....yes, breakfast for supper! LOL!  I'll let you know how I like it.
BTW, I was able to listen to the Chicago Bears football game against the Philadelphia Eagles last night on Free Football Radio   So now I can at least listen to football games.  I had to give it up about 9:30 as it was time for me to call it a day.  They lost...I can't remember the score but the Bears were winning when I first started listening and it went downhill after that.  See?  I think I am a jinx!
I hope you had a great day and that your week is going well!
Happy Trails!

    1. If I was closer I would have gotten one for you for your birthday! Please send me your address. I thought I saved it from when you sent me the carving but I can't find it anywhere (I need some serious help...lol!) Just send me in a regular email, please, (not through my blog) at slicher@centurytel.net

  2. You're making great progress on your blanket Sandra. Which pattern are you using? I had 16 squares done and got frustrated and unraveled ALL of them. What was I thinking? I like the cent line of yours better than the one I was doing.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

    1. Check my Ravelry page. I'm saminar on there and all my projects are listed with yarn and needle sizes and pattern. I am using old acrylic worsted weight and a size 7 needle. Here's the link http://www.ravelry.com/projects/saminar/memory-blanket-2 I hope this helps. Are you on Ravelry? So many projects and free patterns and ratings....LOVE! Here's the link to the actual pattern I am using and it is a free download on Ravelry

  3. We try to listen to some of our favorite football teams on the radio when the games aren't on our local channel. I'm a HUGE Dallas Cowboy fan. Don't hold that against me! heehee! I'm reading a book by Louise Penny right now. I love all of her series with Inspector Garmache. Hugs!

    1. I went to the library and there were none by her, no Brideshead Revisited and no James Herriott. I give up on our library for me. But I have put her on "the list"! LOL! My SIL is a Dallas fan too so it's all fine with me. I wish the Bears would get rid of Jay Cutler....I never liked him as a QB and I really think they could use a better one. It would be nice to win once in awhile! LOL!

  4. Those mums are so tiny; do they blossom bigger? The spider dishcloth is fun. I so want to start a cozy memories blanket but am holding off until I'm done with Christmas.

    1. The mums aren't open yet....those are just the buds! LOL! I just started the Cozy Memory blanket to have something to work on while waiting for yarn to arrive. It will get put down now since the yarn came yesterday. At least until the next time I am in-between projects or need something mindless to work on while watching t.v. You're very disciplined about your projects and I admire that!
