In between the rain drops!

It is wet and wild in the South this weekend!  Tornadoes in Texas and blizzards in Oklahoma and so far we've been lucky...just rain.  I did a lot of "catching up" on chores yesterday and made a great white chili from this recipe
It was really good..........
I did have one little mishap and the can of green chilies I bought exploded on me!  I'm sure it was full of botulism and I should have paid more attention but the minute I put the can opener to it....the juice went all over.  I scrubbed everything REALLY good!  So far so good but I had to go to the store and buy another can.  I've never had that happen before in all my years of cooking.  Be careful out there!
Happy Trails!

  4. I have never tried a white chili. Just got a recipe for my son in laws chili. It is a little expensive to make because it uses a smoked beef brisket but it makes a big batch and freezes well...it has a bottle of beer in it too and BBQ sauce. I will attempt it tomorrow. Also got an old flat bread recipe and it is out of this world...my niece made it for us one day:)

    1. I started getting a little heartburn which I have never had so thinking it was the acidic tomatoes I decided to try this instead. No heartburn! LOL! I'd like to try that flatbread...maybe you could post the recipe on your blog someday? Smoked beef brisket does sound like it would make a fantastic chili!

  6. White chili! What an interesting idea. Looks really yummy too (although that was a bit scary about the can.) Dan doesn't care for chili, but I wonder if he wouldn't like this! (Especially if I didn't use the 'chili' word. :)

    1. I know a lot of people get heartburn from chili an din my old age I was getting it so I switched to this. It's really nothing like regular chili but it doesn't cause heartburn....for me anyway! I hope he likes it!
