Here are sneak peek-a-boo shots of some presents I'm working on........this one I hope to finish this week..............
This one is the corner-to-corner and it is getting big like a shawl about now...........I haven't decided if I am going to make it a square or a rectangle....there are directions for both and I need to go look at them again.............love making this.................
I'm tackling my bathroom and I had the girl's litter box in the shower as I don't take showers but I moved it out into the laundry room and started cleaning ceiling and walls (all tile) in the shower. I am also using up what I have in cleaning supplies as I now make my own but I must admit I used Scrubbing Bubbles on this and it was nice because it sticks where you spray it and doesn't run which is really nice for ceilings and vertical surfaces. It did a fine job too but when it's gone I will be using my"natural" cleaning supplies that I make myself.
I think it's pretty obvious where I cleaned and where I didn't! Yuch! LOL!
Taa Daa! All clean!
I had an old rusty drain and a gold tension shower rod that I "refurbished" using Krylon Chrome paint..............I forgot to take a before but you can see the bottom end is more gold than chrome...
All done.....fresh and new looking...wow , what a difference a little spray paint makes and it sure beats buying all new............
This was the back side of the drain which was the worst.............I scrubbed it as well as I could and dried it well before painting.............
Voila! Good as new!
Here's the paint I used and see the nifty handle attached to the can? It's well worth investing in one of these! It can be taken off and put back on another can....you only need one and I'm thinking it was less than $4.00. It really helps you spray more evenly and keeps your fingers from getting tired holding down the nozzle.
Here's my little tart warmer that I ordered from Sam's school sales. They were selling Yankee Candle items and you could log on and order online and his school still got credit for it. Best school sales program I've ever participated in and trust me...my kids were in many over the years!
Here's my little helper too who isn't so little any more! She's now been wormed, had all her shots including rabies and is scheduled to be spayed December 7th. What happened to my little baby Miss Peeps?
Happy Trails!
It goes without saying that my thoughts and prayers have been with the families and people of France after Friday's horrific attack and they will continue to be for the weeks and months ahead.
Love your little sneak peeks and as always you have been so busy. It's amazing what a good clean can do.
ReplyDeleteYes...I love clean and neat but it's not always that way in my house! LOL!
DeleteGood projects! I use a cleaner that I really like: 1/4 cup Dawn, 1/2 cup lemon juice, 1 cup vinegar and 1 1/4 cup of water, it really works good for me and no horrid clingy smell! I mix it in a spray bottle:)
ReplyDeleteThat's my recipe pretty much too except I don't put lemon juice in it but I will have to try that....I bet it smells good!
DeleteI'm impressed with all of your projects. You are always such a busy bee. We've had company's once Tuesday, a family of six. Always a bit stressful when you've never met before but it's gone very well. I, too. Am praying for Frqnce and all of the other countries that have been victims of these attacks in the past few months. For some reason several have never made it onto the mainstream news. I don't understand that but I will be praying, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Unfortunately it is such a common occurrence anymore that I think they only report the major ones...like murders...there are so many that they couldn't possibly report on all of them but there is also "media bias" involved so I like to watch news outside the U.S. too.
DeleteIt's stressful enough with any company staying in your house much less strangers! LOL! You and your husband are such good and generous people. Bless you both!
You're inspiring me to go clean my shower, Sandra. And I'm really curious how that Krylon Chrome paint holds up. I hope you give an update, say in 6 months or so (or, I suppose sooner if it doesn't hold up). Your productivity is nudging me to get going. Thanks for the energizing post!
ReplyDeleteI'm getting my house ready to sell so I'm hoping I'll be gone in 6 months! LOL! But probably not, as the market here is slow and saturated but I will report back on how it holds up....promise. We motivated each other as I "faved" your projects and also plan on making matching cowls and hats after visiting the Elk website. I loved that hat and then when I saw the cowl, I thought was a nice gift set that would make. So, I guess we "nudged" each other! LOL! We could be a great motivating tool for each other!
DeleteLove all the little sneak peeks, I'm always left wondering "ohhh wonder what that is" Good job on the cleaning and anything that can be recycled to look like new rather than buying new has to be good righ!
ReplyDeleteIt's making it really difficult to blog as almost all I do is gifts for others (that see by blog) so then I realized....Hey! What about me....not only would I get something handmade but I would have more to blog about! LOL! Win-win!
DeleteGoodness you've been hard at work! I've never seen one of those handle things for a spray can but it sounds like a great idea. I get terribly sore fingers from pressing the nozzle.
ReplyDeleteMiss Peeps looks like a real cutie ... and still pretty kitten-like!
Look at all your projects. Can't wait to see the final presents! I'm not at all prepared for Christmas. We're still thinking of skipping town and avoiding the whole thing :)
If I had the money, I probably would too! LOL! I thought of driving down to New Orleans or Florida. Years ago I had a Great New Year's in Belize in the jungle...literally....I won't forget that one soon! I really want to spend a Christmas at Yellowstone as they have a big lodge, sing Christmas carols and go out at night to view the stars and have Wolf Watches.....more up my alley...I'm a nature gal. No matter where you go you will have a great time! It's your life and your Christmas.....you 2 go and have fun!
DeleteWow, Miss Peeps has grown! She looks like a tween cat. I use Scrubbing Bubbles too. I've tried the whole natural bit and that didn't work. Plus my wrists would hurt after scrubbing. So now I just let the chemicals do all the hard work.
ReplyDeleteAnd just where do you plan on moving to? You did a bang up job on the bathroom. What a great idea to paint and not buy. Smart gal. You baby kitty is getting so big. What a precious face. Your projects intrique me. Can't wait until you can really show us what they are.
