I can't believe I haven't posted for almost a month on YOP! Well, actually I can. I make most of my items for gifts and because some of the recipients read my blog I can't post about them which leaves me pretty "empty handed" most of the time. Plus, my RA has been acting up/out and I am hobbling around and not very mobile in any part of my body. The good news is I loosen up as the day goes on! LOL!
I have about 4 projects going right now that I cannot share with you. Some are for Halloween so after that I will show you those. Here' s some of the yarn I'm using though...lol!
I have managed to knit another block on my "scrapghan".........5 done of the knitted and 7 more to go...
There are 2 blocks in garter stitch, 2 in stockinette stitch, and 1 in diamond stitch.....
Here's block #6 that I'm working on in the diamond stitch. You can see the design much better on the red than you could on the navy block that I did before..........
It's a lazy Sunday afternoon for some.............
with the cold front that came through Annie is cozying up to Nitty for heat! LOL! Annie was born in the South whereas Nitty was born in Iowa and loves the cold like I do.
Have a great day!
Happy Trails!
P.S. since I shortchanged you all on projects, here is a little bonus.....2 excellent recipes that I have been making in the Fall/Winter season for nigh onto 20-30 years. They are truly exceptional IMHO....
Michigan Bell Pioneer Chili
Penzey's Bratwurst and /Cheddar Soup
Oooh... I love the diamond pattern on that red square. Pretty! And those cats look so comfy-cozy. The doggies too - Anne looks like she has her paws tucked in under Nitty to keep her warm. Nitty looks like cold paws tucked under her (or his?) arms is just perfect. (I realize that may not actually be the positions they are in, but imagining that from this angle is a funny thought.
ReplyDeleteHi Becki,
DeleteAll my animals are girls and all rescues and all "fixed". I love your blog and will be visiting you on a regular basis for sure! Thanks again for the pumpkin pattern and tutorial!
Love your yarns, especially the purple and orange. The red with the diamond pattern is gorgeous. I hope your RA abates, I suppose at least it gets better through the day :-(
ReplyDeleteThanks Lucy...those are all my "halloween colors. I really like that diamond stitch too and I'm thinkin git would make a nice scarf.
DeleteLove your projects. Though I'm a New England girl -- not quite a girl these days -- I'm not one for the winter. It was gloves and coat day today in New York and I am missing the warmer weather already. Please visit Buttercup's often!
ReplyDeletei was born in the middle of a terrible snowstorm in Chicago, on January 4th.....I'm thinking maybe there's a connection there to my love of winter? LOL! Stay warm and I will definitely be visiting you! If you gt too cold just come down here for awhile but not in the summer as it is "stifling".
DeleteI like how your feline and canines are cozing up. The color of your yarns are eye catchy. Sorry your RA has been stiffening you up and making it hard for you to move.
ReplyDeleteI'm on my way to the doctor today...an 1 1/2 hour drive through the "hills" one way....I'll be spent when I get home from that drive! LOL!
DeleteYour projects are coming along! I thought of you on Wednesday we made a new to us soup. Four or Five strips of bacon fried and crumbled. Brown One pound of Italian Sausage and throw some onion in I did about 1/4 cup. I set half of this mixture aside and froze it for next time. I put the remainder in a Crock Pot along with three potatoes sliced up, 2 cups of chicken stock and about 3/4 cup of heavy cream and about 1 1/2 cups of baby spinach, this half of a soup recipe yielded four servings...and boy was it yummy:)
ReplyDeleteOh, baby, oh baby! I'll be making that one for sure! Thanks for the recipe. Maybe after I get my cholesterol checked...LOL!
DeleteThat diamond pattern is gorgeous and it does show up prettily in the red. Love your puppies. I was born in Iowa too. On the west edge of the state. What about you?
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
I was born in Chicago, Illinois. I took a job in Iowa in 1988 and commuted for 6 months on the weekends back to Rockford, IL where we were living at the time.
DeleteI love that diamond pattern, very pretty in the red and I'm intrigued by the colours and what you could be making. How cute is Annie and Nitty :) Thanks for the recipes, always useful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ruth. I love your designs and one of these days I'm going to try one.
DeleteThanks for those recipes. I just put a sweet potato chili in the crock pot.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds delicious and healthy too. I think I just pinned that had sweet potatoes in it. I can't wait to try all these soup recipes in these cooler days.
DeleteLove seeing your gorgeous pets and thank you for the recipes too.
ReplyDeleteI felt Like I cheated on my projects so the least I could do was give you some good recipes! LOL! My girls are precious to me and I would be lost without them.
DeleteCan't wait to see your finished projects! I am so sorry about your RA and sure hope you get your medication situation figured out real soon--such a nasty disease. Thanks for cheering me on during the read-a-thon this past weekend! I had fun and it was a nice way to spend a lazy Saturday. The next one will be in April, so keep an eye out. Stay warm and thanks for the recipes--they look yummy and perfect for a chilly night.
ReplyDeletexoxo
I'll be ready for the next one! I wish they would make it the whole weekend as I am a slow reader! LOL!
DeleteYou did great and I always love your books and your yarn!
That diamond pattern is looking pretty - I love afgans for using up all that scrap yarn. What better way to bust the stash and get a cozy pretty blanket out of it in the process!
