Woman on Steroids is the true Mad Housewife!

This is so wonderful I cannot tell you!  Not only am I not in pain but it is the "old me" again..well...as long as I don't look in the mirror! LOL!  Energy to boot and I have 42 pills so there are 42 days I can get some real work done around here with renewed strength and energy to burn!  Wonder Woman!  Here I come to save the day! (Actually, I think every woman should have a life-long prescription for steroids.  They shouldn't be wasted on athletes!)
Before I get too far, I want to thank everyone for their prayers and good wishes for me and my grandson, Sam.   They worked!  We are both doing great although the supporting characters are a little weary.  Amy's church and school have been providing family meals which is a true Godsend and it goes on this week too.  Sam fell last week and that was scary as they had to call the hospital.  They drilled out so much of the bone to remove the tumor that until it grows back his leg is very fragile.  He has an orange cast (perfect for Halloween!) but they called the hospital and they told them what to look for in case there was damage after the fall but all seems to be fine.  He is not using a wheelchair but a walker which is much easier to manipulate especially in their little home.  When he fell though he was trying to use the walker and also carry his legos......he has since learned to ask for help and to hold firmly onto the walker!  Whew!  He went back to school today and although his arms are tired he made it through the day and he has "helpers" assigned to help him carry his "stuff".  They weren't sure if he would be able to go because he was on pain medicine that is not allowed in school (narcotic) but he was off of it several days ago so it turned out not to be problem which was good as his parents have used up a lot of sick time between Grayson and now Sam.  See, your prayers REALLY helped!  Thank you SO much!
It was a really nice day today, cool and a little sun.  Enough for me to get outside and close vents, roll up one hose, sweep the porch and sidewalk and straighten up around the outside.

Fall is definitely "peak" here right now and so pretty.  Rains from Patricia are here now.
They arrived this afternoon but I was able to get to the store for a few items and these little gems!
Stuffed portabello mushrooms with cheese and bacon.  They were at the store and I have to eat 3 meals a day now as the pills have to be taken with food.  Actually the steroids give you a bigger appetite so it's not that difficult. LOL!  They were only $4.19 and took only 15 minutes to cook so that was my lunch.  I think these would be easy to make quickly too.
Delish!
The ghosts are in the trees but my son did such a good job of trimming them this past summer that I couldn't reach the branches on the second tree so I had to hang the other one on my little hibiscus tree up near the house. LOL!

The mums are straggly as I forgot to trim them back last fall/spring.....
I had to show you this picture.....afternoon nap time for all the girls.......from left to right...Nitty, Miss Peeps, Annie and Grace...too funny!  I, on the other hand was busy working.....no nap for me!  But then I'm on steroids too! Ha! Ha!
I spray painted some branches black today and they're in a purple vase but I can't show you the rest until the Halloween boxes get sent to the grand boys.
I had to take this picture of the front porch through the door as it had started raining.  Miss Peeps photo bombs every picture she can.
I have DWTS's tonight so I'll try and get around to visit everyone tomorrow.  Again, thank you to all of you, my great blogging friends...your thoughts and prayers made all the difference!
Happy Trails!

    1. I knew you would have good advice for me on the mums! Thank you! Yes, isn't Bindy just the cutest and such an upbeat, enthusiastic young woman. Her Dad is looking down and smiling big time, I'm sure. That Tamara woman thinks she is the best and doesn't seem to realize there's a difference between being self-confident and arrogant and there were plenty who did as well and better last night. I hope Bindy wins!

    1. Thank you, Sheila. I did "over-do" the other day and I felt it the next day! LOL! It's like a fountain of youth drug energy wise. This is how I used to feel before they messed with my thyroid. Hope all is well where you are....any snow yet? LOL!

  3. PS, around here we keep our mums trimmed down to about 4-6 inches until the Fourth of July, then we leave them alone.

  8. I'm so glad you are doing better. Steroids are a miracle drug! Just try not to overdo. I'm so glad Sam is improving too. If steroids are a miracle, I know prayer is even better! Your fall decorations are great. :-)
    Blessings,

    1. Thank you, Betsy. I think I have "sympathy pains" with Sam. Ha! Ha! I pray and I have a strong faith but I also believe God helps those who help themselves....he/she is the one that gave us the idea for the steroids!
I pray and then I get to work.

  10. Such good news to read that you, and your grandson are doing better!!
    Prayers answered!!

Our daughter went through some tough years, with her kidney failure and kidney transplant. Kids are so resilient though, and our entire family learned to be more patient and loving and gracious. Everyone's kindness, charitable hearts, and prayers really bolstered us up, and made those years so much easier on our family.
I am glad that your grandson has 'helpers' too!! Tell his mom and dad to hang in there :)

Love, love your sweet little tree ghosts. The cans are a great touch!!

Keep feeling better, and have a great weekend.

    ~K.

    1. Thank you so much , Kerin. I do believe that there are lessons embedded in everything that happens to us and around us if we just take the time to examine it and not just "react" or go into self-pity mode. Life on earth is just one big learning academy! LOL! So glad you came through your trials with a smile on your face and a grateful heart. I hope your daughter is doing fine now.You are such a cheerful and positive ray of light!

  11. So sorry to hear about your grandson's surgery but glad to know that he is doing well and healing. You know, Sam, sometimes slowing down is a good thing. You don't always have to do, do, do and go, go, go. I bought mums but they haven't fared too well. Still hot here and now we've had crazy storms the past two days -- rain this time, instead of dust. I had my first volunteer session with kids in hospital today. 3 hours of chatting, game playing and drawing to keep them entertained and happy while they are stuck there. :) Have a good day. Tammy

    1. I know what you mean about me "going" all the time but I am trying to move up North and if you saw the giant task in front of me you would say "you better get a move on, Sam"! LOL! I have accumulated so much stuff and plus moving into this house with all my parents things which down here are hard to get rid of.
I'm not a hoarder but I did grow up with Depression era parents but I am finally over their deaths and able to let go of their stuff and now I able to let go of mine too. I just can't get rid of it fast enough now! LOL!
I bet the kids just love you! What a great thing to do and you have so much to give. What lucky children to have you come and visit them. You are an angel....literally! Love ya......Sam
