Monday, Tuesday Wednesday...full steam ahead!

Monday I mowed, got gas for the mower, took some books back to the library and renewed some others.

I found a little meadow growing in my yard and mowed around it............they aren't dandelions but close and much taller...........
The girls really enjoyed being outside......it's been a long winter...........

there's Annie "grazing"............

This is Snow, my newest neighbor's dog.........she loves to be out in all kinds of weather.............isn't she pretty?  How she stays so clean I'll never know!  My neighbor has 2 white dogs and I have 2 black dogs.....Maisy, her other dog, is small like Annie and doesn't like it outside as much.
The strawberries have huge blooms on them...I wonder if that means the strawberries will be big too...
I picked some of the "meadow flowers" and brought them inside to enjoy.........
Tuesday was Garbage Day here and since I was outside most of the day on Monday, I stayed inside and caught up on Monday's chores; laundry, changing the bed linens, and I managed to finish a mitten I was working on.............it was my first mitten I ever knitted..isn't it so pretty?  But there are several problems....it's too small, the thumb is really too small and there's not enough yarn left to knit another one....LOL!   But they are really a fun knit and it was all my fault, I'm sure!  I wasn't measuring properly and I may have to knit the large.  I guess, not only do I have big feet but big hands too!  I need to order more yarn.....and you know how much I dislike doing that, lol!  I used Susan B.Anderson's pattern which I purchased.  She's having an awesome drawing right now for a beautiful kit with accessories all relating to Little House on the Prairie.  (Oh, I hope I win, I hope I win, I hope I win!!!) Stop by and enter...it is some gorgeous stuff!
Today I de-boned a chicken and made chicken salad from this recipe  (I also added some celery to it and I'm thinking maybe I'll sprinkle in a little dill).   I'm roasting some asparagus I got at the market for a side dish.
I've finished the heel flap on the sock and I'm knitting the gusset now.  My workload has doubled so I apologize for not being as good a visitor but there is so much to be done around here.  If you saw my house you'd understand!  I only show you the best parts! LOL!
Happy Trails!

  1. It's so much more work when you have lawns to mow and outside chores as well. I hope you have a nice 'rest of the week' my friend. The mitten is cute and you could use it with winter decorations. Sweet hugs, Diane

    1. What a great idea for the mitten! I could fill it with pine sprigs and hang it on my door for winter! Thanks for the idea!

  2. Your lawn is so green! I think that flower is a wildflower called Hawkweed. That White Dog is really cute...how does it remain white? We had a Spitz once when I was growing up...he was a little beige most of the time instead of white:)

    1. Thank you for identifying the flower. I thought maybe tickseed but wasn't sure as I thought tickseed looked more like coreopsis.....oh well, they're pretty and I like them. I have some more plants for you to id. It's so nice having a botanist for a friend! LOL!

  3. Beautiful pictures of the dogs and your yard. I always wonder how those white dogs stay so white too. :-). Your mitten turned out beautifully. The first one is always a learning curve. It does sound like you keep yourself pretty busy. I got all of my laundry and ironing done today. I call that progress. Ha!
    Blessings,

    1. I love bloggers that mention their "real life" and chores. Sometime to read some blogs you would think they have maids doing everything else....and maybe they do! LOL! But not me! I'm a one woman show here with not enough money to hire anyone! Ha! Ha!

  4. I know what you mean. I'm able to read posts today, because it rained (and I can't plant in my garden this morning). The mitten looks great!

    1. You're my role model! You still do better on the blogging than I do.

  5. My goodness, you have been busy!!
Just love that mitten... even if it ended up being too small :)
This is such a great time of year, although busy and busier. Yards to be tended, gardens to be planted, lawns to be mowed, and also spring cleaning!!
    Yay for all of it!!

Have a great Mother's day, and a wonderful weekend.

    1. Thank goodness I have a riding mower although a push mower would probably keep me healthier! I love to mow except when it gets really hot and humid here and you have to wear a sweat band on your head so it doesn't run in your eyes! LOL!
I'll be posting some books on Monday hopefully. I have to go visit you and see what you've been readng and up to this Spring. Thanks for stopping by.
