The cold came and it's still here.............brrrrrr!

Not only did the snow and the cold arrive but it got in my head too and on top of that I suffered a groin injury during the game my stretching exercises on Sunday.  I didn't take to my bed but I must admit I found myself sitting still and staring off into space for who knows how long.....I think I might have had a fever...or a stroke.  But I'm better now.....
 I finally finished my daughter's scarf....present #3 done!
I'm getting "revved up" to  do some sewing and quilting.  I spent a bit of time over at Kindred Quilts going through the last few years of Kathy's posts and I am "pumped"!  Her taste in projects, colors, combinations and so much more are right up my alley!
I know I still have Christmas presents to make but I really need to do something for me and I'm tired of the "fiber" mistakes I've been making lately.  In sewing I can see progress so much faster and without tearing out again and again!  So quilting....here I come!  These will be small projects that I can finish and use within weeks, days , even hours if I stick with it!  Stay tuned!
If you would like to see some lovely little quilts and some free patterns visit Kathleen Tracy over at Country Lane Quilts
Kathleen is a published quilt author and Kathy from Kindred Quilts has done several of her quilts.

I'm off on another adventure!  Thank you to Kathy and Kathleen!
Happy Trails!

  1. Thanks for sending the snow and cold our way, here in Western New York 😉 Your daughters scarf turned out beautiful. Can't wait to see your quilting project come together. Keep warm, hope you are feeling better?

  2. The scarf is beautiful and I'm guessing your quilt will be too. I hope that you 're feeling much better now and can zoom on your holiday plans.

  3. Gosh, Sam, I hope you are feeling better. That's scary. Love the scarf. I've been catching up with your posts and you are one busy lady. Sending you hugs, Sharon

  4. I hope you are feeling better by now! Feed a cold stare a fever...stretching exercises..lol...you get excited about your games. Those fabrics are so bright and cheerful just perfect on these winter before real winter days:)

  5. Ouchie. I hope the strain is not too bad. Yay on finishing the scarf. It looks cozy. I'm curious about the quilt. Do you have to finish off the edges before sewing the squares together?

  6. I'm so far behind in gifts this year. The scarf looks very nice.

  7. I sure hope you felt better today and that it warmed up some. Thanks for the link to the quilt site. I'd like to quilt...one of these days! Hugs!

  8. Oh dear, sorry to read that you had an injury, but I am glad that you are doing better now!!

Beautiful scarf!! Your daughter is going to love it.

Good luck with the quilting project. Sounds like fun.

It's been cold here too.... just 8 degrees the other morning.
Still... for the first time ever, I'm trying to make the best out of winter time :)
