When it rains they get weighted down with the water & tip over to the ground. Staking helps avoid this. They need lots of sun and acidic soil. The other one I have is the same deep pink as yours. It is struggling. I thing because it doesn't get as much sun and is near a large maple tree that I thing is taking all the nutrients. So I think I will move it this year to a much more sunny spot.
The Dianthis and sweet William are both of the same family. Although I have many Dianthis and yours look like mine. I love perennials - the clumps usually get bigger every year (if they are each in their correct environment) or they will reseed easily.
Show more pictures as the season progresses, please. They are wonderful
Mary G. You could quite happily chop the old branches (the long spindly bits) from your Lavender and it will spring back to life. Your 'raspberries' might be little wild strawberries though with thorns they might well turn into brambles or blackberries.I also have Peonies which have multiplied themselves although it's a mystery how they do this since they originate from rhizomes. Nice to see your garden and thank you for popping over to mine and leaving your sweet comment.Between Me and Youhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04863155145862706966noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4823072828140599817.post-5375416149097542572017-04-27T09:20:35.280-05:002017-04-27T09:20:35.280-05:00Wow, you're welcome!! :) I hope that it helps ...Wow, you're welcome!! :) I hope that it helps you, I mean, that's what works for me, you have to tweak it for yourself. My biggest challenge was having enough money in advance, but I managed and it's working out really great. I lit candles and cooked and baked and did some knitting. Reading is great too! Yes, that first 'outing' in the fresh air and the work can be a little daunting but I do stretching exercises every morning to keep my self flexible in my old age (68) and I didn't get sore at all....amazing...those exercises have really helped. Watch your dogs....they never just get up in the morning without going through some stretches and gyrations....that's where I learned it from! Wow you have so many plants and flowers already! We're still getting below freezing some nights and rain, rain, rain. The weatherman said the night before last, that we already have twice as much rain this year than we get in a normal year. We're usually fairly dry on our side of the state. Seattle gets the rain. Anyway, there's no flowers blooming around here yet, it's just been too cold. Trees are finally starting to show a few buds on them and that's a good sign.
Blessings, Betsy Betsyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00807691752817225336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4823072828140599817.post-6646607684030123692017-04-26T09:28:27.270-05:002017-04-26T09:28:27.270-05:00Your flowering plants are so pretty.
