YOP Week #49

Moving along slowly but surely!  I did some crocheting this week on my Victorian lattice squares.  Marsha asked what my plans were for them and how many I had made.  I have 18 and my plans are to made covers for the arms of my 2 chairs and seat covers.  I figure the arms will each take 4 so that is 16 and the seat covers will probably take 32 each for a total of 64.  So, I have enough for the arm covers but a ways to go for the seat covers!  This is what I did this week.......
As for the Frida Kahlo basket for my daughter, all I got done was to measure and cut the stiffener.....
I plan on pressing the fabric this afternoon and then it will need cutting and sewing.......I'm getting there.
I spent another chunk of time organizing my floss and I have it all done now with another order in as everyone was out of floss and are now just getting restocked since Stitch Maynia.  I did a little work on Jane's Joy and counted all the squares...........
There are 169 squares, 4 corners, and 100 triangles......273 in total.  I've only finished 1~ LOL!  But it is so enjoyable.  I want to finish each square but the first one I started I didn't have all the colors.  This will be a long term project but what a lovely one!  I started in the middle so you can see the red square pretty clearly.
This past week I have been walking on a regular basis although early to avoid the heat.  It has been hot here this week; high 80's and low 90's.  I managed to do some weeding and trimming and hung 2 hummingbird feeders and a bird feeder.  I've seen 1 hummingbird and the deer wiped out the bird feeder so I need to find another place for it.  I have a bubbler coming for a birdbath and butterfly waterer.  I need to mow again but it is too hot and then Cristobal is supposed to rain on us tomorrow and Tuesday so Wednesday looks like the best day for mowing and cooler too. I've been cleaning and clearing and making progress which is such a great feeling!
The world is in disarray but I am so happy to see people standing up for justice and equality for all!  If I was younger I would be out there with them!  Blessings to all who "speak truth to power" that is true courage and I thank them!  I pray they stay safe!
I hope you are all doing well and staying safe.
Happy Trails!!!

  1. I really like the plans you have for your squares. Thank you for sharing. Your daughter is going to love the Frida Kahlo basket when it is done. 273 wee squares!!!! Wow. That is one way not to get bored with a project. Each wee square will be an adventure. I can not imagine 90 degrees with the humidity you have there. Ugh, it would be so hard to breath.

    1. Yes, it is the humidity not the temperature. I have to get out early to get my walk in and outside work but next week it will cool off for a bit and be back in the 70's...thank goodness!

    1. I spent a lot of time organizing my floss and so glad I did. It makes it so much easier to find the colors and to get going on Jane's Joy! LOL! There was a method to my madness!

  4. Jane's Joy looks so intricate and challenging! How big will the finished project be? Glad you are getting out and about despite the heat, I imagine the rain will be welcome if just to cool things off a bit. Darn deer. I hope you find a place for your feeder to thwart their attempts.

    1. Actually it is very easy and simple. The finished size is about 18 inches square, I think. Yes, the bird feeder is going to take some thought as I've seen those rise up on their hide legs to get at things! Maybe my roof? :)

  5. I just love that quilt. It would be hard for me to put it down. You have heat...so does Mandy, but we've had both the furnace and fireplace going today. It's supposed to be 39F tonight!
I love that the hummers have found your feeders so quickly.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  6. Are 2 squares a week doable I wonder? That would take you to Christmas 2022? But with so many other wonderful WIPs on the go I don’t know how you choose what to work on. Oh I suppose you’d have to take out a month a year for stitch mania, so could be done by Easter 2023. Whenever it is finished I will enjoy following it’s progress.

Thank you so much DOCTOR ODUNGA for making my ex boyfriend come back to me. I am writing this wonderful testimony in respect of this man. He made all my wishes come true. 15. I was a HIV-AIDS patient and I got it from cheating on my wife. It was sort of a payback but a week later I was told by a friend that the person who I cheated with had the HIV-AIDS virus and did not tell me. I was so stupid by not using a condom I thought since he was an old school friend he was trustworthy. But I was wrong. I cried and cried. Two days later, I got a phone call from my friend and he told me about a person who is known by another friend, who can help me. I could not let my wife know what I was going through. I finally got his email address: oseremenspelltemple@gmail.com and I emailed this man my story and he replied me immediately saying i should be calm and told me that everything will be OK. I could not come to terms with what I was hearing but then I concluded it did not matter because I was so broken I just needed help. I was going out of my mind literally. I was confused with what he was telling me, but I listened. He told me about some materials i need to buy that he needed to cast the spell and I said OK. I bought the materials to him, I sent down my picture to him and my positive result sheet and he replied me that i am going to be negative under 3days. I message Him every 2hours for 2day and I knew he thought that I was crazy but I did care I needed a shoulder. Behold, the third day he messaged me i should go for a test that i will be negative. My marriage could be broken because of a stupid mistake and my life was on the line. I remembered when I was going to get the results of my re-test I called him up again and told him that I was going to get my results today and his reply was “so" and that everything will be as he explained. I knew then that he was getting tired of me calling him, maybe I was wrong. Well I got my results and the first person I called was him - again. As he said hello I started to cry and cry. I could not believe it. I was given a second chance in life. This man is a great spiritual HIV/AIDS healer, his healing spell on aids healing is very powerful .please brothers and sister, contact Dr Ose oseremenspelltemple@gmail.com
