Konmari progress............

Don't worry...I won't blog about this over the weekend....I take weekends off! LOL!  But I did work on it today and my clothes are back in the closet.....this is the left side of the closet....
Here's the right side..........with lots of space in between!
Granted there is still a basket full of ironing but all the clothes are done for the closet...a good ending point for the weekend.............
I have 2 baskets for dirty clothes but they take up so much floor space I am looking at a rolling hamper or laundry sorter that I could wheel to the other end of the house where the laundry room is.  Any suggestions?  My Birkies are my 'house slippers'.
Here's the thrift store donations.........although there are some clothes on hangers too........
So next week will be some more shoes and the drawers.  I've also been looking at the little boxes Marie Kondo uses in the drawers.....you can get them for $90......are they nuts?  $90 for cardboard boxes that will sit in a drawer that no one will see?  I'm sorry but that seems a bit over the top and a waste of good money to me.  Wait until you see what I'm going to use....lol!
I did work on Ben's hat again....I'm about halfway done with the brim.  I also forgot to show you this....
A cover for pot handles.....I joined Our Happy CAL Place, a group on Ravelry, where they have a weekly and a monthly CAL.   I have wanted to make these for a while now and it was a free pattern and takes very little time or yarn.  I'll be making more of these like the dish cloths and the scrubbies!
I did some laundry and vacuum sealed chicken tenders, breasts, and thighs for the freezer.  We were supposed to get snow from all the blue on the radar map but all we've had is rain.....just so it doesn't freeze!  That's what takes the power out.
I think that's all the news that's fit to print.  What are you all up to this weekend?  Today is Fall Friday for my cross stitch so I'll be working on that this evening after supper.
Happy Trails!!!

  2. Good job again today. I got my rolling laundry basket at Costco. I have seen them at Sam's Club too as well as Target, WalMart, Bed Bath & Beyond and other home goods stores.

  3. Oh my goodness! Your closet looks amazing. I am so impressed. You know how I said I was going to do that today? Well I went and opened the closet door, took out one skirt and hung it back up, closed the door and left. Ha! I did get a lot of other things done today though. You asked about my nine patch squares on my blog. I knit a five garter row border around each square. That’s a total of 10 rows. I’ll take a picture of the next one when I complete it and post it for you. I have made a total of 17 squares so far. Nowhere near enough for a blanket. Oh well.
I hope you’re having a lovely evening my friend and the rain did not turn to ice. That’s the worst. We had that on Tuesday and I didn’t go anywhere.
    Blessings, Betsy

  4. Your closet is so spacious! I don't have as large a closet, but it's still packed with clothes, although it contains both summer and winter things. Even so, I usually only wear a few outfits. The rest just sits there!

  5. Thankfully, I decluttered most of the house already so I don't have much to re-organize. Those handle holders are great for a cast iron skillet.

  6. Eeeek! Looking at your closet makes me think I have a BIG JOB ahead of me in my closet! What you did is impressive, to say the least.

What will I be doing this weekend? Taking down and packing away the holiday decorations (long story regarding why they're still up!) and putting out my winter ones.

  7. My son left an IKEA rolling laundry cart in our attic and I brought it down to use. I didn't love the black bag that hung on it so I used it as a pattern and made my own out of drop cloth. It is so easy for me to roll out to the garage.

  8. Well that is an adventure! I have a baskety/shelf system in my laundry room, dirty clothing goes right there. It works for me, one time I had a hamper and didn't like that I had to stand on my head to retrieve clothing, I have seen rolling laundry sorters. My system is white shelves and baskets that slide in and out I got it at Menards. Rubbermaid made mine.

  9. Wow, your closet is amazing! You are going to inspire me, girlfriend!

I use square laundry baskets (bought at Walmart) that take up less of a footprint. One (or more) are stacked in our bathroom in an out of the way area, and every day one basket is carried down to the family room where items get eventually (later that day) get sorted into baskets of like items. I have a fair number of baskets and they are always circulating between the upstairs master bath/downstairs laundry room. The baskets, whether they have clothes in them, or they are empty, are stacked in either location. They get unstacked for sorting and washing.

Okay... enough from me. I'm going to scroll back up and admire your closet some more. That is truly amazing! So much space!
